They made me Lo Mein instead of Chow Mein, but I can live with that. The place was sweltering. 80 something degrees with high humidity. No air conditioning. No fan. Fortunately service was quick. I couldn't even sit in the place to wait for the food. I stepped outside. What did concern me was a young child sitting inside coloring. Is this the place for a kid to be hanging out? I really like the food at Chans. unfortunately their services do not include delivery which kind of sucks. The place is your average Chinese take out joint no tables just a storefront for pick up. The only critique I have for them is I went in for lunch one day and my order was nine dollars and they wouldn't sell me the food because I only had a credit card and there's a $10 minimum on the credit cardaside from the fact that's not legal it was annoying because I waited 15 minutes for the food to be cooked. This is my Chinese family's go-to spot for Chinese take out. Yes, the rumors are true....Chinese people eat Chinese take out too! Everything I've tried has been pretty good and the food comes out tasting like the actual ingredients instead of a greasy MSG-y mess. They don't mind cooking to order so feel free to customize your dishes. We always tell them to use a light hand on the oil and they actually listen! I like it. I'm not sure if they deliver; we always call ahead and pick it up. Service is friendly, and they've always gotten our orders correct. read more

Best Chinese food in the area. Cheap and quick service. Just wish that they delivered.

Great take out Chinese food. Delicious egg rolls, good pan fried dumplings, pork fried rice, LO mein, shrimp with lobster sauce, bbq ribs, sesame chicken. They are the only place on Long Island that I have found where you can get pork buns - which they order from Chinatown in NYC. They are really delicious soft buns filled with bbq pork. Unfortunately they don't deliver and there really isn't even a spot to eat in (not that you'd want to) it's a small, old place but the food is good. read more

We ordered this based on yelps reviews. Chan's relatives must of rated this place 4/5 stars. This definitely didn't warrant 4 stars. We ordered 12 different dishes for a large group. The only thing somewhat edible was the human beef. I thought the hot and sour soup was ok, but was definitely their own version of soup. More egg drop/ mixed with hot and sour. No one else would touch it. We have tons of left overs that will be going in the trash. We did have a large order. Maybe it was too much for them to handle. We had to wait for our order, but half of the dishes were cold. They didn't give us fortune cookies, soy sauce, or chopsticks with our order either. Make sure you request condiments to cover up the taste if you feel the need to try this place. Just don't say I didn't warn you. read more

Chans is an awesome chinese place!! The service is fast, but they only deliver during lunch hours. They will cook to order, or pick something off of the menu, excellent food! I reccomend the garlic wontons!! They are delicious!! read more

Moving into the area the this has been a good place to pick up Chinese food. However, not a very social set of owners. I've had no problems with the wife, the husband is not so pleasant, the son pissed me off royally when he threw a pen at me when I corrected his mistake - in the most mindful of ways considering his a teen. I order from this place all the time and I never wanted to do this but I can't take it anymore ! The man at the front disk is so rude, always has an attitude on the phone and in person. They make up the prices and its always different! I got the same dish 3 Days in a row at the same time and paid 3 different prices!! The food isn't that good to go thru this headache. I've been going to this place for a few years now. I don't think I go a week without having this for dinner at least once. Sometimes I'll go for this 3 days in a row, because it's legit. People say the owner is rude but every time I go in he gives me a smile and so does his wife and son. I've gone as far as making their phone number a contact in my phone so I don't have to type in the number every time I'm trying to order. I'm more than a regular at this place and the steamed dumplings and white rice with spicy garlic sauce is my favorite. My only complaint is they don't deliver which is not a big deal. read more
