Really terrible food. I don't think they know what General Tso Chicken is. It's supposed to be chunks of chicken breaded and fried with broccoli and a hot sauce. what I got was a disgusting chicken bits (less than 1/5 inch-- it was like floor scraps), no breading, no broccoli. It looked boiled. And just terrible. The pot stickers were over $16.00 for 6 really bad dumplings, and the hot and sour soup was a disgusting thick concoction with little flavor. Do NOT go here. I'm torn between giving Chan's two or three stars, so I'll be nice. We placed our order for twice cooked pork, shrimp kung po and veggie spring rolls. We received egg drop soup first. I thought it was inedible without soy sauce. It really tasted like nothing. I had about three bites. We then received our spring rolls. They tasted like greasy cardboard. We then received our main dishes. The kung po, which is usually spelled kung pao, is spelled kung po at Chan's. Now I know why. This kung po tasted like no kung pao I have ever had. It was mostly comprised of zucchini and celery. I don't much like zucchini and I've never seen it in kung pao. But, of course, this was kung po, so maybe that's the difference. The only flavor I could detect wasn't very pleasant at all. W's twice cooked pork was delicious. I don't eat pork, but I did cheat and tried a piece of his cabbage and the flavor was wonderful. We had already placed a takeout order of moo shu shrimp and more spring rolls. I was pleasantly surprised later to find that the moo shu was also delicious. Before you order, you should know that one portion size is enough to feed a family of four. The menu is nearly as big as the Bible. I wish Chan's would streamline their menu and make delicious smaller dishes, instead of having a menu with hit or miss dishes that lack in quality. Not a fan of the masks but that's okay I understand people are scared of the 1 politicized virus out of the thousands of other viruses out there. I have eaten at Chan's since I moved to Redmond in 1989. I moved away in 2010 and just moved home in April. I was devastated when Chan's was closed because someone drive through their dining room. I finally got the chance last weekend after they reopened to have my Chinese food. There was great sushi where I lived for 7 years but I couldn't find Chinese food that came close to as good as Chan's! It was as wonderful and yummy delicious as ever! And I am so grateful this restaurant has stood the test of time in our town. Jan/2019 ate at Chan's last night and tried an old favorite and something new. Had the crab wontons which I hadn't had in years. Which were just as unbelievably good as they always were. And tried beef with vegetables. Oh my gosh as someone who is not supposed to eat gluten this is a new favorite. So many great vegetables perfectly cooked and the beef and sauce had amazing flavor! No one will ever convince me Chan's isn't the best Chinese food restaurant! read more

This place never disappoints! Anytime we are in the Bend area we come over and get some Chan's for lunch or dinner. I am gluten free and I am very sensitive and their food never bothers me. We have eaten here on multiple occasions and have been basically happy with the food. Met there for lunch today and ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken lunch special. It tasted alright but when scooping it into a to go box uncovered a 6" black hair. Needless to say my stomach is in knots now. When I showed the waitress she apologized and proceeded to charge me full price. I paid and tipped because her service was fine but the more I thought about it, the more I think a refund would have been appropriate. Not sure I can bring myself to visit there again. read more

This place has delicious, fresh food in generous portions. I don't know about the whole menu, because we always get the same thing here: Ginger Chicken and Chicken Chow Fun. The chow fun noodles are the reason why this place deserves five stars. Yes, just that. They are slightly smoky, perfectly cooked, and just make your mouth want to sing. Although we've eaten here dozens of times, both in their current and past locations, I always forget to take pictures because I'm so anxious to dig in. I went here with a friend's Sister, after church on Sunday. The wait staff was very polite, the selection was pleasing. You can choose from a menu item or you can choose ala carte or lunch special they got it all covered and I haven't seen that before so I was well impressed. They were more than accommodating for our large group, as well as our request to break up our tickets and my having to change or because I forgot I just had a tooth worked on was dealt with with such ease and no bother that this is definitely a place I will check out in the future and recommend to friends. As far as the food goes it was delicious hot and ready and still warm when I was ready to take it home, which was later devoured by roommates lol. read more
