We each ordered combos and there was a ton of food! The kung pao, beef & broccoli, chow mein were huge portions and all really good. We had sweet & sour chicken also on our plates and it was tender and good. Nothing really special about this Chinese restaurant, and they really don't do authentic Sichuan cuisine, but what they do give you are large portions of pretty tasty food. I went into the restaurant and ordered for takeout three items: potstickers, hot and sour soup, mu shu shrimp. When the order came to my table, I simply paid the bill but did not check inside the bag. The only thing they got right was a hot and sour soup. The mu shu not only didn't have any shrimp, it had no meat at all. It did have scrambled egg. They omitted the potstickers completely. Dishonest or incompetent? Avoid this place! read more

Our friends had invited us over to there house for having some dinner and playing cards. They asked us about having Chinese food . They said they had ordered from Aiwa Asian before and it was good. My wife and I perused there online menu. The 4 of us came up with the following items. Green bean (with Tofu) with Black Bean sauce Mixed Vegetable Lo Mein General Tso's Chicken Mongolian Chicken My wife and I rarely have take out food. Personally I prefer to eat in a restaurant where I get the food hot, freshly made, and if there is something that goes awry it can be fixed. The order did have 2 things missing . The Green Bean (with Tofu) and Black Bean did not come with Tofu. The Mongolian Chicken was supposed to have Fried rice ( extra charge). I thought the veggies throughout each dish were over cooked. This is the problem with takeout ordering . I'm on the fence about trying Awia Asian in house. read more

We dined here on 5-19-2024. This restaurant was suggested by a Facebook group I belong to (Redmond Foodies) and I was not disappointed The proportions were large, we had a lot to take home. We ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein, deep-fried prawns, Shrimp fried rice, and of course a shot of tequila. The waitress was fantastic! I shared that my husband likes his food spicey so she brought extra sauce ( not sure of the name of it) to the table so he could have more and make his lo mean as spicey as he wanted it. The sauce was a hit. The prawns were perfect not too much breading and crunchy outside and a nice tender inside. The Shrimp fried rice was FANTASTIC they do use a nice size Shrimp in the rice and they very generous with the amount of shrimp in the rice. This was great. I usually have to dig through the rice to find the Shrimp but NOT HERE !!!! The restaurant is very clean with a relaxed comfortable feeling. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant we had planned on eating was closed so traveling down the street found this great Asian Restaurant. Being hungry, we ordered 4 main dishes -- three to eat there and one to take home for someone ill. The portions were large and we enjoyed every bite of the delicious food. The service was friendly and efficient. Learned that Door dash is a significant part of their business. Yum! We are glad we finally thought to give Aiwa a try. The chow fun noodles were delicious. I'm from Portland metro area and growing up, we could always run to the markets nearby and grab fresh noodles to make chow fun at home. It's not possible here and hasn't been for the nearly 20 years that I've lived here. Yea, I can find places in town to cook it up for me, but my first experience here didn't disappoint! They were so fresh it reminded me of my mom's chow fun. We also tried the pork noodle soup which my kids loved since they love a nice hot bowl of noodle soup. The service was great and the staff is very kind. Portions are generous and we are happy to have a new spot to go to on evenings we just don't have the time or energy. I was going to give this new restaurant in Redmond a try as we were hungry for some Chinese takeout. I went on line to order but cancelled after I found add ons Included on the bill. I don't tip for takeout and I can't see them charging a handling fee. The charge, on top of the expensive food, was $5.50 more than it should have been, and you have no say to the charges. Oh well, we have more Chinese restaurants to choose from. read more

Up until now the best Chinese food that we have experienced in Redmond OR has been from the ubiquitous drive thru fast food chain. Aiwa has now become our favorite Asian food restaurant. We visited on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Parking was easy. We waited about a minute until we were noticed and seated in a booth with a view of the parking lot. It took us several minutes to decide what we wanted to try on our first visit. We settled on Yellow Curry Pork, Orange Chicken, and House Friend Rice. My daughter wanted a beef dish that we did not see on the menu. My daughter and the waitress discussed options and the waitress told us that she would have a special dish prepared for us. We started with delicious Egg Flower Soup. The discussion around the tables was that we need to order this soup for dinner on a cold winter evening. My first impression of the House Fried Rice was mild disappointment because it did not look like fried rice that I had eaten at other restaurants. The first bite made me a lover of this version of fried rice. It had a nice fusion of flavors that made this excellent fried rice. Yellow Curry Pork was a nice balance between Thai Yellow Curry and Chinese Stir-Fry Pork. The only reason that I will not order this on my next visit is because there are at least another dozen items on the menu that I want to try. The Orange Chicken was about the best that I have enjoyed and not too spicy for my wife. Daughter's Beef Special was breaded fried beef prepared in what might have been a mild plum sauce. I suspect that my daughter will eat all the beef leftovers before I get a chance to eat any. As we were driving away, we discovered that there is a drive thru. We will go back. read more

My husband and I have been a few times now and, for the most part, really enjoy the food. In particular, we really enjoy the hot and sour soup and lo mein. I will say on one occasion (a Sunday evening) when we ordered food to go, the flavors were quiet bland for both the hot and sour soup and lo mein. They were awfully busy so not sure if that was a factor that impacted the quality or if they change the chefs. Still, because a majority of times we've ordered food, we've been happy, I didn't account that one time in the rating. read more
