This is the worst experience we have had with any service of any kind - we normally do not do reviews, but we have to share this in hopes someone will avoid using Chapman Chevrolet and going through the same things we have been through. First, we are constantly getting texts and emails and mail really pushing us to trade this in to them... We have a perfect well taken care of truck and are NOT looking to trade it in... They know how perfect it is and really wanted it... We bought it from them brand new - it only has $30K miles on it - we have taken PERFECT care of it, as it is the last vehicle we planned to ever purchase. We took it in there for a basic service - oil change transmission fluid etc... It is our only vehicle. We left it there for the service and uber'd home - when we finally heard from them that it was ready we Uber'd back to get it - we got it home and there were 2 scratches with grease marks on it that were not there when we took it in, and we had just detailed it and washed it, they had replaced the windshield fluid and apparently checked it and left spots and the windshield filthy. This is nothing compared to what happened next... We drove it up around the corner to run our dogs the next morning, when we pulled in the driveway it sputtered and choked and the engine light came on - we took it right back to Chapman - Uber'd back home and waited - and waited, and finally called at the end of the day and they said it is ready - so Uber'd back and they said there was nothing wrong... tried to buff out the scratch but couldn't, and said to bring it back in 2 weeks when their paint guy was there... TWO WEEKS LATER, we pulled in the driveway again, and the sputter and choke and engine light is on again, but this time blue smoke coming out the back and we could not drive it... We called and left messages and called and called and no return calls... So, I called a main number, only to be talked down to and treated horribly and told all they can do is make an appointment for us to get it there some time next week - WHAT??? It was perfect when we took it in for basic service! I finally got someone else on the phone, they sent a tow truck to pick it up (I had to push to get this far!) Didn't hear anything, waited, didn't hear anything, left messages wondering what was going on, and when they finally would talk to us they asked if we had an extended warranty... no, we do not, well, it is something in the engine and they need months and almost $8k to fix, as there are several others there waiting for the same thing and the part they need is back-ordered - for months... We did a lot of research I will not go into here, but it is a big problem with this engine, but they can not do a recall as it affects too many vehicles and can't get the part to fix... Again, they wanted us to trade it in, acted like it is our fault, would look into if there is anything they can do and PROMISED to call us 1st thing in the morning!! WE HAVE NO OTHER VEHICLE AND THIS IS DEVASTATING TO US... so, we wait - no calls whatsoever the next day - OR THE FOLLOWING DAY!! Where is our truck - what is happening - we have no vehicle! I called and called and no one would return or answer our calls FOR DAYS!! I FINALLY KEPT CALLING NUMBERS TILL I GOT SOMEONE ON THE PHONE! Then, they only want to talk about us trading it in - I asked them to please give us an estimate on putting a new engine in rather than waiting for months for a part to do a patch job... they again promised they would get that to us right away - that was 2 weeks ago - still waiting for some kind of customer service, phone call, something - we get nothing - we were never rude, always patient and always nice... this is absolutely the worst experience we have had in our lives, and we are OLD!! JUST TALK TO US - ACT LIKE YOU GIVE A CRAP! Nope - nothing... So - we were very anxious to get it out of their hands, so we paid for a tow truck to go get it. We had to pay for a rental car for 2 weeks! That is NOT CHEAP! - By the way - the rental car company told us this happens a lot and that our best interest would be to get a lawyer from their experience..) Still thinking about that.. We are out over $10,000.00. We found a perfect, very customer service oriented company to replace our engine, for the same amount they wanted for their repair job, and had it back in perfect condition within days... They have been pushing for a review, so here it is... Will follow up as we go further... read more

I received excellent service with my 16' Chevy Cruze. The guys upfront were friendly and helpful. The waiting area had plenty of seating areas along with snacks, coffee, water, television, free WiFi and restrooms within a walking distance. I am super happy with my visit. I switched my locations from being a regular at Courtesy Chevrolet (where I bought my car brand new) to NOW being a regular at Chapman. This location has made me comfortable and trusting them with my vehicle. Something the other location has failed to do. I bought my 2017 camero new paid cash . Just picked it up from service. Greasy fingerprints insulation foam fro the headliner that was replaced glue stuck to the car general overall filthy. When I pointed this out to the service adviser he scrapped at it with his fingernail. Really On a Dirty car? We're you hired straight out of UTI? Untrained idiots. The lack of customer service is amazing . Absolutely no vetts on the show room floor or inside. When low on inventory. No good service. No good service people or managers. It's going under Please let people know. If you have a vett. I totally feel sorry for you. I just owned a camero. There is no repair facilities at Chapman Chevrolet It official this experience with this dealership and lack of customer care and service has made me HATE Chevy HATE my car and now I have to fight for what's right. Life is too short for this bull. I took my car to a professional body shop and have a report of damages and the cost of repairs for the dash paint scratch and steering wheel. Maybe I should go after the cost of repairs now. I don't trust this dealer or what they will do to my car. I don't usually leave reviews but at this point I don't know what else to do I brought a Dodge Challenger from this dealership 2 weeks ago, first night taking it home the car told me it needed a oil change I check the oil there is no oil in the car I call the dealership and they agree to put oil in the car, I take it home the next day I notice the car makes a really loud screeching noise as it drives and it brakes, I take it back to the dealer they realize the rotors are very bad and it needs to be replaced at first they try to charge me but quickly change their minds and say they'll replace them, now just tonight I notice the car is STILL making the screeching noise but this time only from the back of the car, at this point I just want my money back I do not want the car anymore because this is gonna be my third time bringing this car back to the dealership to be serviced and I JUST BROUGHT THE CAR NOT EVEN A MONTH AGO ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS! I'm going back this dealership first thing in the morning and expect a update because we are going to get this straightened out, Worst experience I've ever had with a dealership, doesn't deserve the 1 star yelp is forcing me to give. read more

Very bad experiences with this dealership. I set an appointment to get my new car fixed (it couldn't turn off - an essential function, especially for a new car) earlier this summer. The first time I brought it in, they didn't even recognize that I had an appointment, so they couldn't get my car in. Then I set another appointment and confirmed it with them. When I arrived the second time, they told me it would be at least a week before they could even look at my car. I left because I couldn't afford to leave my car for a week, especially with a job. I understand this is their process, but it's a terrible process - if you can't look at my car for an entire week, don't accept my appointment. Let me schedule an appointment on a day when you can actually look at it so my car doesn't sit idly for several days. Anyways, then I called to see if there was something they could do, given how difficult they were making it for my new car, still under warranty, to function properly. I was promised that the Director of Service and Service Manager would get back to me after I left a few messages politely explaining the situation. They never did. I had to go to another Chevy dealership in the valley to get my car worked on, and thankfully it seems to be working better so far. Still, I'm overall frustrated with Chevy. Definitely won't be my choice again when I buy my next car. read more

Long write-up but highly encourage the read. The people at this dealership, including "managers" will try to deceive you. I would avoid doing business with this dealership at all costs. I looked at a 2019 Tahoe which was listed for a certain price on the lot. David Smith, the new car "manager", was fully prepared, full print out and all, to do a deal on that price. I still have the papers showing it. After looking on the website, the same vehicle was listed for almost $10k less. After bringing this to his attention he tried telling me it was a typo, even when every number was different. Dealerships won't make a $10k typo. Inexcusable. After talking with the used car "manager", he was very worried about losing even $1k on the deal even when they upcharge $5000 on new vehicles because of demand and knowing people will buy. I asked him to do a certain price out the door and he said ok. It turns out, that's the base price he started with before the fees and all, not out the door. I should have caught it but he lied straight to my face. The finance "director" will say he has worked for shady dealerships and then defend Chapman saying this isn't one of them. After bringing up the point of David Smith trying to make a deal for $10k more, he defended it and tried to explain what happened. I have the papers showing it. After trying to sell me additional stuff, while writing up the papers, all of which I turned down, the finance "director" asked if I would buy one item if it was $1? This was after knowing my income. I said no and he asked, "well what do you do with your money? Is your money even real?" Absolutely inappropriate and entirely unprofessional. I did end up getting the vehicle out of necessity but was informed later that the APR was different from what was printed on the papers I signed. After looking over the papers and charges I noticed some on there that I didn't ask for, one being for $599. I went back to dispute this and the finance "director" wrote up a request for check, which was about the only good thing they did. He told me it should come off the loan amount and I needed to call the finance company in a few weeks to confirm. I got a letter from the finance company that the amount did not come off the loan amount but in turn, went toward the first payment. These are the worst people to do business with. They will lie to you, deceive you, and try to make deals with you under shady circumstance. Beware! read more

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation. They provided a Lyft so I could go home while they serviced my truck. I was notified the truck was ready and provided a link for the online payment, however the webpage was not working. I paid in person for the service. Great service staff, really friendly and the wait area is clean. Only other complaint I have is that they don't have the staff to wash your vehicle after service. read more

I see nothing has changed at this dealership in over a year. I had an alert of low tire pressure while I was near the dealership and figured they couldn't mess up putting air in my tires. It wasn't all that busy, so they took it back and returned it quickly. I asked if they checked all the tires and the response was affirmative and that only the one indicated in the alert needed air. After I left, I checked my on screen and sure enough, the one tire was at 35 psi. Of course the other 3 were at 28, 29, and 30. Rather than check the other 3, they simply lied because it's easier and they're lazy. Can't understand how they can call this a service department when they aren't service oriented. I guess if they can't get into your wallet immediately, you're not worth their time. read more

I was looking to buy a car and so I called this dealership and spoke to a sales person and asked if they have the specific make model and color of the vehicle I was looking for on their lot. The sales person told me they had the exact make and model and color of the car that I was looking for and that I should come down to take a look at it right away. I was very excited and thought wow I'm gonna be able to buy my car today and they have exactly what I'm looking for. Of course everything they told me was a lie. I went down there met with the sales person and they didn't have any cars that I was looking for much less the car they told me they had on the lot. They lied to me just to get me down to the lot to try to sell me something and waste my time. These people are sleazy car salesmen and I will never buy anything from them and I would recommend that no one trust them at all. They are dishonest and sleazy. The only reason they're getting two stars and not one star is because they had free drinks and snacks and I happened to be hungry at the time and so I took some of their snacks. 2 hours and 45 min wait today for a basic oil change and I'm trying so hard not to be annoyed and ticked over this. Made an appt for 1:30 and showed up about 1:20. I don't know what time they took my car back but it probably sat for 2 hours without anyone touching it. At the 2 hour and 30 min mark I asked what was taking so long and they told me they were short staffed. So if a manager reads this... the correct way to handle this is that the advisor who greets your customers outside, before they even step a foot in the door should tell the customer that A. They are running behind and B. They are also short staffed.... that way the customer gets to make a decision whether to stay in your freezing cold lounge area or leave and come back almost 3 hours later. Communication is key for good business practice and Chapman Chev gets a big fat F for Fail today. Sadly I'm thinking about going back to Courtesy Chevrolet. Although they are far from me on Camelback those guys have NEVER failed to keep me in the loop on wait time. I've had my car going on 10 years now and this is the first time EVER I've waited almost 3 hours for an oil change. I must be crazy to keep going back to Chapman. Disappointed in you guys CC.... was so excited to have found you awhile back and now below average service. Also car wash was broken or dismantled or whatnot for remodeling... another disappointment. Just needed a verification of the towing status of my 2013 Equinox for flat towing behind an RV. The man at the service center was able to verify the type of towing I would be able to use and printed out the spec sheet of my specific SUV. I didn't buy my Chevy from Chapman and didn't need service, yet I was treated like I just bought a new truck. I was not an interruption in his day, but the reason he was there. He replied and I quote (Take it to autozone they will install it for free and i can reimburse you for the light bulb). I asked for the floor matts, till this day they have not responded.
