Let's talk the Service Department here as I have already review the car buying process...I called Chapman and asked them about a light that came on in my car. I have only had my Camaro 6 months and wasn't quite sure about warning lights and what have you! I called the Service department and they said, it's just your oil light, bring it on in and we will look at it. Forgive me, but I forget the woman sales advisor's name who I spoke to but she was awesome!! Not only did they change my oil, my car came back washed and vacuumed out. The gentleman who handled the change was very professional and gave me advice on buying new rims and who to see. My only issue is that I am missing one of my lug covers...I should have looked before I left! I was just so overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude that a lug cover was the least of my cares! Anthony's service level was a dream-come-true. Friendly. Funny. A go-getter. Considerate. Polite. Well-dressed. Handsome. And any other superlative that comes to mind. I also enjoyed meeting Mark, the internet sales director; and interacting with Tyler, the F&I associate for the dealership. What's more, while my Impala was in "make ready," Anthony led me to the comfy customer lounge and once ensconced in one of the blue, leather chairs (aka, the Poppy Fields of Oz) I took a nap; and before I knew it Anthony woke me up -- and my car was ready. My whole experience here was awesome! I called to make an appointment, met with Chris McKenzie that same day, got into a loaner that same day, got my car fixed and detailed in 2 days! Initiated a web inquiry and Stephanie Cantu responded within minutes. She gave me precise and accurate info with her initial response. I was pre-approved and she gave me a couple of options. I drove to the dealership and was treated fairly, professionally and walked away with a low mileage 2017 Spark. The car was delivered perfectly. I had a minor issue with the antenna not picking up Sirius/XM. I called Stephanie and she had the service dept take care of the issue. This was a used vehicle and was told that the previous owner didn't leave the spare key at the time of trade in. Guess what? Stephanie went out of her way to hunt down the extra fob for me! This is specifically a services review: I really appreciated the above and beyond these guys went to with my 2012 Chevy Sonic. I was just about to reach the end of my bumper to bumper warranty and my TURBO and my auxiliary stopped working. They took it in, fixed both (which included a whole brand new stereo) AND noticed my stick button was stuck, which I had forgotten to mention and was a big deal. They fixed that, too! Thanks guys! The only reason there aren't 5 stars (I'd give them a 3.5) A) the new stereo was bad and I had to go back once again and thats always a pain figuring out how to get to work without a car. B) they never really give you a time frame, so again, you're left with waiting around and the arranging of transportation. C) there is always a line you have to sit in, regardless of having made an appointment, so that's super lame. read more

I purchased a Certified Pre-Own Chevy Cruze from Chapman Chevrolet in 2013. It needed a few minor repairs and they gladly took care of it. I recently took my car in for service on the A/C and the emissions evac system. Though my manufacturer's warranty had expired, all of the repairs were covered by the GM extended warranty and all I had to pay was the $100 deductible and they even gave me a rental car in the meantime. The repair was supposed to be done in a day, but it took a while to get parts and I had to leave town, so I had the rental for 6 days instead. They covered the entire cost of the rental and even reimbursed me for the extra days optional insurance. The insurance was something I elected to have (thinking it was only for a day) and they had absolutely no obligation to take care of it but did anyways! I truly appreciate the great customer service I received (thank you Amy and Brandon!) and would highly recommend Chapman Chevrolet to anyone looking for cars. Keep up the great work guys! read more

Extremely quickly I got an email and phone call from Stephanie C. I was at work so I couldn't do anything then but I was in touch with her throughout the day. I went in today and she already had it pulled up for me to look at! I owed quite a bit on my trade in and I know I have pretty low credit score so when they came back to the table paying off my trade in, getting me into a vehicle 6 years newer and lots of miles less and within budget I was very surprised! I bought my 2015 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon at Chapman over a year ago and I am still livid about my experience there. I still tell every friend, family member, and stranger, for that matter, that is thinking about buying a new car to never buy from Chapman. My list of issues during the deal, after the deal, and after I brought the vehicle home is long (I'll explain them later). I wasn't timid or shy about expressing them to my salesman, the sales director or anyone that would take my calls. I immediately started making calls and visiting the dealership physically the day after the purchase. However, after days and weeks of making multiple calls and taking with Managers (sometimes. It depended on if they were available and if they wanted to call me back), nothing was resolved. I think that's because they didn't want to help me they just waited to call me back and bought time until I decided it wasn't worth it anymore since they didn't want to help rectify the situation (perception is reality). Even more proof of terrible customer service. I mean good for them it worked after I tried for over a year to get it resolved nothing was fixed. Anyway, Managers eventually just stopped returning my calls. One of the sales managers chalked it up to "I guess we just didn't know enough about he vehicle." It was a $49,000 Jeep! I spent my good hard earned money and trusted these people all to just be taken advantage of in literally every way they could cheat me. The worst part is, this jeep was previously owned by the director of the service department at the same Chapman dealership I bought it from! If anyone should know every detail about the vehicle they are driving it should be the person who is in charger of the department that fixes them! Here is a list of some of the issues I had: Keep in mind this was by appearance a "fully loaded" off road ready Jeep. 1) The lift was only 2.5" - (but I was told it was a 4" lift) the jeep has 37" tires. The lift needs to be at least 3.5" or more with those tires. 2) gearing - the gearing is the original factory gearing (even though the salesman and director of service assured me all the gearing was right -as in upgraded for the lift and the 37" tires) - after taking it to a certified mopar mechanic he confirmed none of the information I was provided by the dealership was accurate. The gearing was original and the lift was 2.5". Another misrepresentation (another lie). 3) after taking the jeep off road one time I discovered that the tires were being destroyed by the pinch point in the rear fender wells. This would be completely avoided if the lift was done correctly. (Which I trusted it to be since everyone at the dealership told me the jeep is perfect and ready to go.) I was even shown pictures by the director of service of him off road in the jeep. If he was off-road then he would have also known this was a problem. 4) the desert package - a spray coat of some kind, tint, and nitrogen in the tires or something. This was I believe a $1,700 cost. This is a long story as well but here is what you need to know. I'll use quotes from the sales team and managers. "No car leaves the dealership without the desert package on it" but also know this. "The desert package price is completely negotiable" according to a salesman I spoke with there. So if you want to save yourself the $1,700 cost of the desert package and get it for free tell them you don't want it. The package is already on the vehicle before you test drive it. They aren't going to take it off so be good to yourself and put that money back in your pocket! I say it is already on the jeep because after the did all the paperwork I was told to wait for the jeep to get ready and I literaly watched the jeep sit where I parked it after the test drive. (Again using some kind of tactic I would guess to make me wait or think they were doing something to the vehicle hey were supposed to do but actually didn't do?) I assume trying to figure out ways to cheat me more. 5) Extended warranty (this is also something you shouldn't do) I was told it would cover all upgrades on the vehicle however after having read the rules of the warranty it will not cover any of the upgrades so I was lied to again. The issues that exist here are about safety of the vehicle, trust if the staff and business, and never resolving the issues. I would like this to be resolved ASAP. STAY AWAY!! Unprofessional and dishonest! Went to Chapman Chevrolet in Tempe for the "Special sales" on Memorial Day. We found the vehicle we wanted and decided to negotiate with this dealership. The Tahoe was at a dealer in Tucson and they were going to bring it to us. The problems started with the sales woman. She acted like an angry teenager every time we disagreed during the negotiation. The next problem came with the "financial Director". BEWARE of this guy! This is THEIR last effort to rip you off! He will tell you, "you just need to sign here". He will sneak in extra stuff that you don't need or would want. Unless paying cash, you will end-up financing the extra, worthless stuff for the next 3, 5, or 7 years! We tried to stay on top of the situation and so we requested to see the final contract several times, but each time they stalled, delayed, or distracted us with a printout of a few things but NEVER saw the actual contract until the Financial "Director" had us in his office... and EVEN THEN, he pushed a bunch of papers to sign BEFORE seeing the contract! DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!! READ the contract very carefully and question EVERY ITEM LISTED! This guy is not your friend, he is another salesman pushing for worthless things like, VIN etching, paint protection coating, extended warranty, and fabric protection to name a few! Tell them ahead that you will NOT be needing any extras and to show the final contract. If you decide to buy extra stuff, they can added to a new contract. Better yet, pay separately for it. Know the value of your trade ahead of time. Check the value via Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds, or see what others are paying in Craigslist or other sites. If your car is in good or excellent condition arm yourself with that knowledge and ask for the highest possible value then negotiate to your predetermined price. We ended up CANCELLING the contract THREE days later! The Tahoe never made into our possession. The lies and deceit were never ending. First they needed to exchange the tires, then, they didn't know why the Tucson dealer was taking so long. We called the Tucson dealer and they told us that the AC was not working! Brand new vehicle, mind you! We decided we were probably getting a LEMON and called it quits! On that day, at 7pm, we called Van Chevrolet in Scottsdale and asked to match our deal and we would buy a similar Tahoe from them right then and there! An hour and half later, we had our new Tahoe in our garage! Just like that! And yes, that even included our trade! Oh, in case you wonder why 2 STARS... Ben, a sales manager there, was the only redeeming quality at Chapman of Tempe. He was very professional and helped where he could. His honesty and personality was very much appreciated during this mess. read more

They lied and told me a part was bad and had to pay $500 to replace it and the next day the problem was still there and they refused to give me my money back. I had purchased a new keyless remote and a reputable locksmith who does a lot of business with programming remotes was unable to program the one I purchased. I took the new remote to Chapman Chev. to see if they could program. The tech was able to do so and in the process, discovered even thought the remote that does work, the battery was leaking so badly that it had an impact on programming the new one. I purchased a 2nd remote from Chapman and now have to remotes that work! Kudos to the tech that was able to diagnose. read more

I informed her of my terrible, stereotypical car salesman experience. She apologized and asked me if she could make it right, would I give them another chance. I thought that was fair, but I wasn't going to play any games. She assigned Stephanie to be my sales associate. The two of them took care of the deal as it should have been done in the first place. They were fantastic to work with and earned my business back. They accommodated everything I asked for and worked out all the details. So Chapman Chevy is trying to play me. My battery is bad and my alternator is bad. According to the 3 tests we had yesterday, the mechanics told us we MUST have the alternator changed too bc it was at 9V when it should've been at 14.5V. At Chapman They "claim" it was at 14V. I called and said I want to see your test. He's like, I can show you the papers.... I'm like, No!!! Anyone can alter papers. I want to see the actual test while you're testing it on my car. He claimed his machine was right, I said ok, do you have a backup machine?? He's like yes. I said, well, can you test it using that machine while I watch??? Homie declined. What's the point in having bumper to bumper warranty when they can't even do what they should do??? Trying to make my warranty run out so they don't have to give out free parts. The service dept was very slow in getting me checked in. I made an appointment for 7:00 am and still by the time I was ready to go (with rental) it was 8:30 am... I gave the service writer a list of warranty items that needed addressed. I understand that sometimes issues are hard to duplicate when in the service dept but my transmission slips every time I go from reverse to drive and I mean every time. The dash lights dim and go bright all the time. I was told the items were unable to duplicate (Really) my main concern is that I live in Orlando, FL and was afraid of getting stranded on the was home from Phoenix. I had the service work performed as well, my time pressure is supposed to be 36 psi all around and did not think I should have to check but I did.. Guess what I found 31 on the front tires and 32 on the rear and that's good. Should I go on.. I don't think it matters... 0 stars. Initially looked at a 2017 equinox and told the salesman (Keith) that I saw a few 2019 equinox's at a different dealership I was interested in. I told him I was only looking at CPO vehicles, my max monthly payment and I only wanted a 60 month contract. He proceeded to have me test drive a 2018 and I was interested. After about 30 min of going back and forth with the sales department, I was adamant that I could not go over on the price and they told me they would do it and assured me that the car was CPO. They charged my card $3000 for part of the down payment. After waiting over an hour for the finance department, the finance dept told me a higher price and the vehicle was NOT CPO. They refused to honor the deal they had previously told me in the sales department to certify the vehicle and I have to go through the process of getting my $3000 back tomorrow. I would advise anyone looking for a vehicle to go somewhere else. read more

We had Keith Darden as our sales person and he was amazing, he went above and beyond for us. He started by asking what price we would be comfortable at and then took that to the manager and came back and said they could do that and even lower with no money down. Didn't try to get us to go up on our payments or put money down at all and didn't do that back and forth bs. As we were waiting he even offered to clean our other car and went as far as detailing te windows for us and getting it super clean. Said he wanted us to take the new car home and didn't want to keep us there all night so offered for us to bring it back in whenever we want and get a free full detail. Also our car didn't have both key fobs so he said he would look and find an extra one that we can get programmed instead of paying for a brand new one. He definitely exceeded our expectations and made our experience amazing. We will definitely be back buying from him again in the future. read more
