We've talked to 5 different people over the course of these calls that claim to be in office in Buda, TX but it seems odd this many employees would be working the front desk of a small town office. These women we speak to all clearly have a script they are reading from and can't even pronounce the town they work in properly. No one from Buda says "Boodah". They were also not willing to tel us their managers name or a contact number. They did give us an email which we used and got no reply. Seems like a scam company. Stay away!

I called them because my previous guy stopped returning my calls, so it was a relief that they were so reliable. They were also courteous, did good work, and were focused on making sure I got a fair price. When I had Bernardo out this summer because my air conditioning wasn't working properly, we discussed the various options and what they would cost (cleaning, partial replacement, full replacement) and I opted to replace the entire system, which was 20 years old. I had to leave the team working alone at my house for most of the day, and I trusted them. Although the job took a few hours longer than estimated, they were in communication with me by phone throughout the day, and the final job came in at the quoted amount -- I think he even threw in some extra discounts. I requested the new outdoor condenser be located in a different place from the original, and Bernardo went above and beyond to make sure the extension lines looked clean and attractive. He even checked in a few weeks later to make sure my system was running properly. Full disclosure: Maples did recommend that I write this review, but I was happy to do so.

I feel bad he didn't charge a diagnostic fee for driving all the way out from Lockhart. He is an authorized Daikin and Goodman dealer. He said the prices Airco quoted were high. He suggested I buy Goodman instead of Daikin, which I did from another dealer. Daikin owns Goodman. He told me to make sure I purchase the extended warranty, which I did. And he said not to purchase the Daikin DH7VSA or comparable Goodman because of all the software and firmware bugs, which I did not. Shane highly recommended the Daikin DC6VSS, so I purchased the equivalent Goodman model. He was a great second opinion! It's too bad I live too far out of his service area.

Called Cool Champs at 7am one morning. Call went to voicemail but the recording was simple and to…read morethe point. 'Busy keeping Austinites cool... we'd like to help you..' leave your name and number. Our nearly 10-20 year old system had lost a battle against a 90 degree Austin day. I'd called a few HVAC contractors, all came to the conclusion that the Evaporator Coil had likely sprung a leak and was freezing up, causing the Fan to run for Hours...without managing to actually cool the house down. Two courses of action were available - spend a few hundred dollars adding 2-3 lbs of refrigerant to the system - to maybe get beyond the 2023 Summer Cooling System (fingers-crossed) or Replace the system entirely. I opted for the second. I'd never had to have an AC system installed/replaced before. After bidding out a few HVAC contractors in South Austin, I realized that most HVAC contractors have middlemen do actual change-out work... and later come-back to check their work. I didn't like that setup considering I'm investing $5-10,000 in parts/labor. No Thank You. Regan, the business owner of Cool Champs instead is involved from start to finish. Regan and crew did a meticulous job of pulling out the old equipment, hauling it off, installing the new equipment, and cleaning up their work area afterwards. I can say is wow!…read more Our AC went out on Friday evening in the middle of the hottest part of the year. The unit was only 5 years old so we were concerned about it, that and the fact that it was Friday evening. We contacted TRS and left a message with them hoping they could help us that day. Juan called us about 45 minutes later apologizing for not getting the message earlier as he was in church. He said he was close and came immediately to our house. He instantly knew what was wrong, the drain was clogged as we had forgotten to put bleach in it to keep it clean periodically. He had it cleaned out in just a few minutes and the unit started working immediately. He had put the unit in a few years back and remembered us and took care of us quickly. We were so grateful to him that he came to us on a Friday evening so we wouldn't have to suffer in the heat. He was friendly, professional and in our eyes, a life saver. After replacing a couple parts he said he did not know why it was still not working. The owner came out and also could not figure out the problem. He said he would come back the next day but guess what... he NEVER SHOWED and NEVER responded to my calls and texts. I called two other companies who gave me a quote that were $1200 and $1300! So he was charging me way too much in the first place!! The last company that came did a thorough investigation and found that the original guy had broken a part and probably didn't want to pay to replace it because it was expensive so he disappeared. I don't mind when a company makes mistakes but I sure as hell care when they don't take responsibility for it.
