This is a small locally owned business that is worth trying if you appreciate quality tea. It's a small shop and there are some parking spots out front or you can easily find street parking. I got the Phoenix oolong milk tea with the mochi boba and tried sips of the barley black tea. What I loved most is that each drink is made to order using their teaspresso machine. You can tell the guy working really cared about making each drink the best it can be and he was super nice too. Our drinks were quickly made and tasted incredible. The oolong had lovely floral notes and the mochi boba was delicious with the perfect bouncy chew. I also enjoyed the flavor of the barley tea! I would definitely recommend coming here for a little pick-me-up or post-dinner treat.
First time visiting, found them through the SGV boba passport. Clean, small shop; quick, friendly service with a few indoor seats and several patio tables outside. They use high grade tea leaves and you can smell the leaves before choosing and they use specialized equipment to extract flavors from the leaves. I really enjoyed their jasmine milk green tea and the mango fruit tea. You can really taste the tea in both drinks, it did not taste watered down. The boba was equally delicious, I've never had mochi boba. It was sweet, soft and chewy and it went well with the drinks. I will definitely return to try more items on the menu.
Wasn't impressed at all. Ordered two gyokuro milk teas with honey boba (less ice and 50% sweet) and a mango slush with honey boba but heard the employees talking to one another about how there was only enough honey boba for two more drinks. I inquired about it and they said I'd have to pick a different topping so I went with the agar boba. Apparently they did not give us honey boba. I was staring at it up close since it looked so different so they asked if something was wrong. I thought maybe it was because it was the last of the previous batch that it looked so soft and mishapen. Since July 4th they've been switching to mochi honey boba instead because of popularity/increased demand. They said it was a real hit on July 4th weekend. The mochi boba had a lovely texture and flavor but definitely could have used more haha. They had to boil a whole new batch. Agar boba was fine but I was super disappointed that I didn't get boba because that's what I actually wanted. The shop was quiet with nobody else inside besides my cousin and kid and I. The gyokuro was pretty bitter (as if it was steeped too long. Maybe it was just matcha and bitter? But I thought gyokuro was just tea leaves?) and not sweet at all. I couldn't finish it because of how bitter it was. I kept it in the fridge and drank it next day and it mellowed out significantly. The mango slush was honey boba was pretty good. They recommended it with lychee jelly but my 5 year old was not interested haha. I think I'm spoiled after having torotea because it is such an amazing experience from start to finish and every flavor is absolutely delicious and perfect. Chapresso is overrated and fine when you don't wanna wait for torotea. You probably just need to order the right thing and for them to have boba when you want it. If I ever go back I'd try one of the iron goddess oolong or one of their matcha drinks.
Each order is made to brew! Really enjoyed their tea selection and I always get the phoenix MT and/or iron goddess MT. For a regular they charge roughly $6/7, which is standard pricing nowadays. Opt for the phoenix if you enjoy more of a honey note at the end. Parking is on the street but easy to get in and out even with ongoing traffic.
I don't know if I went on a really off day, but I can't remember the last time I had a milk tea so off-putting it went straight in the trash. I was so excited for the gyokuro milk tea because gyokuro is probably my favorite tea, and I can't quite describe what the gyokuro here tasted like. I can say, however, it didn't taste anything like gyokuro. It was weirdly floral, not quite jasmine-like floral, and had a weird and honestly kind of gross flavor I guess is a way to put it. It completely lacked the fresh buttery greens quality of real gyokuro. The jasmine was okay. I gave up on the hojicha without even trying it after everyone else wound up not liking their teas either (they didn't dislike it as much as I did with the gyokuro, it just wasn't great). Reviews seem positive for this place so I dunno what was up with our drinks. While the tea flavor, at least for the jasmine, was strong, it was so strong it tasted almost artificial (compared to similar tea-forward places).
Cute little tea place on Huntington next to dumpling bar. You can customize the type of tea leaves you want and can add "toppings". Also can adjust level of sweetness. Friendly service.
5/19/26 Okay, I'm not much of a tea drinker but I like matcha for all its health benefits & its earthiness, this place has my seal of approval:-) Just driving around San Marino looking for a coffee shop near 5 pm--not much luck. This place popped up & doesn't close til 8 pm- cool!! There just 2 seats indoors with a "bar" table and a bench to park your behind while waiting for your drink. There's no restroom. The outdoor patio is spacious but it shares it with 2 other businesses (Dumpling Bar & Mari Vees). Staff is trite, professional, competent but not overly friendly. He made my drink as requested-iced matcha latte with oat milk, less ice, 75% sweet level, one of the best so far, nothing fancy, just good, quality matcha. I'm likely to return if ever in the area, and that's me not big on tea lol \(*0*)/
wow this might be one of my new favorite boba spots! Came to try Chapresso and the tea quality really shines in all their drinks! I tried their matcha latte with 2% milk (they offer oat milk too) at 70% sweet and a gyokuro milk tea at 70% sweet with lychee jelly and both were very very good! The teas were fragrant and yummy and perfectly not too sweet! They have a few seats inside but it's very limited - they've been around for about 2 years and I hope they get a lot more love soon! Service is very fast and friendly
I had an adequate experience at Chapresso (San Marino). I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte ($8.50 - 16oz - 75% Sugar). It's earthy, gritty, and tastes like mango cereal milk. It reminds me of liquid mango candy. I arrived at Chapresso (San Marino) on Sunday (around 12:15PM). Parking is a little challenging. There's no lot, so I used street parking. It's a brief couple minute walk. Customers can order at a self-service kiosk or counter. Staff is polite. Staff kindly answered all my questions. My drink took one minute and 52 seconds. Fast! As mentioned, I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte ($8.50 - 16oz - 75% Sugar). It's not bad, and it's thirst quenching. The drink made me think of candy mango and something a little gritty. On ambiance, Chapresso (San Marino) is very tiny and cramped. There's one small counter and a bench. There's also three assigned tables at front. The floors looked like they needed a quick sweep, but the air felt clean. I also enjoyed the slow-paced music. The location is very dimly lit though, so it all felt a little melancholy. Fortunately there's a little bit of utility at Chapresso (San Marino). There's one available electrical outlet. And there's customer internet with password; customers must ask staff for the details. However; this small location doesn't have a restroom. Overall, Chapresso (San Marino) is not bad. I didn't hate my beverage, and staff is friendly. If already nearby, I can lightly recommend. 3.9 out of 5
I came to try this spot since a fellow acquaintance said it was yummy. Parking is ample for street parking. There's outdoor seating which is nice. You can order via kiosk or at the counter. Staff were friendly & open to questions. I went with the matcha Einspanner which was a 10/10. I was able to customize my drinks as well for sweetness/ice. I would come back to try other drinks since they have a vast selection.
I decided to try their ice matcha latte and matcha Einspanner. I tried getting the coffee version but it ended up being matcha which was fine since it was good either way. The offer 2% milk or oat milk. Definitely going to come back to try their teas. Now that i know where its located at. First time trying this place and parked a little far because it looked like there was alot of cars in the front. As we werw looking for it someone asked if we were going to chapresso. Howd he know. But we came on a lucky day. Turbo tax had a little event going on and they were giving free chapresso vouchers, fidget spinner, tote bags and ice packs.
The Matcha is made fresh, and the Matcha latte was pretty good for what it is. The service was fairly fast, just expect one person to be working in the front. So that person is either tending to the orders come or taking the orders. The vibe of the overall shop is chill, but you're really here to grab and go, so you're not really hanging out within the shop. It is located a cute spot in San Marino, you can opt to park in the front, or around sides.
street parking available depending when you go! the place is a bit smaller but they have outdoor seating. very cute and clean inside. they have a pretty solid menu with different options. the staff was very helpful in explaining the differences. i got the genmaicha einspanner and you can really taste the puffed rice in the drink. i liked it but my bf didn't. the strawberry matcha was good but the strawberry just tastes like jam. the oolong milk tea was really good! very fragrant and floral. i also got a mango green tea but it was a bit cloudy and bitter in my opinion. maybe it got cloudy from the mango they use but would highly recommend the oolongs they have and the matcha! can't wait to come back and try the hojicha

I was really disappointed that they were out of Matcha because that's what I came for. Then I ordered the Hojicha with regular milk and while I was waiting I was told they were out of regular milk. I think putting a sign up that says out of matcha until the end of the month would have been helpful. Also, as a business owner myself I feel like being out of regular milk is a pretty easy remedy. The customer service was also just ok. It definitely did not feel warm/welcoming. I will definitely come back to give this place another try since they have good reviews but definitely disappointing today. I ended up getting a regular ice tea with jelly - which is refreshing. read more

Years ago, I used to enjoy Boba Tea quite regularly till I one day found out that they were all made from all that bad processed sugars and artifical flavors and ingredients.....and sadly, as I had turned to the healthier side of living, I quit boba teas altogether. Then recently, I was in the area and chanced upon Chapresso's soft opening where, at this charming little newly opened boba shop (with limited indoor seating and several small outdoor patio tables), you can enjoy a delicious custom made boba beverage...whether alone or with your friends, catching up on some work, or just taking some time out from a hectic day. Whatever the reason, there's a great beverage to suit any occassion. So, this being our first time here, we were first greeted by a very nice, friendly, and personable young man, whom I think is the owner, after which we were then attended to by a couple of very nice, courteous, and helpful Chapresso staff behind the counter who gave us a rundown of how the ordering system worked. We were first pointed to the six little jars of sample dried tea leaves on the counter, where we could catch a waft of each to see which ones excited our nasal senses the most. We very much appreciated this opportunity as some of the tea names were so exotic that we had no idea what we would be getting. Secondly, once we decided on the tea we wanted, we had the choice to order it either hot or cold, with or without creamer, level of sweetness (0 to 5), level of ice (none, less, regular, or extra), and finally, the choice of toppings.....honey boba, lychee jelly, agar boba, and/or mango jelly (additional 65c for each). I love a good green tea and so, went ahead and ordered the Gyokuro Green Tea, without milk, with boba, less ice, and zero sugar. My wife wanted to try one without milk, so she went ahead and ordered the Barley Black tea with honey boba, less ice, and zero sugar. One word sums up the quality and taste of the boba teas here.....Wow! The flavors and aromas of the teas were so distinctly high quality, mind and tummy calming, and oh so refreshing. In my honest opinion, this is not the type of beverage you'd simply gulp down in under 10 seconds, but instead, taking your time in taking delicate sips, then swirling it around the back of your mouth, and just letting the aromas flow and excite your senses. It's very difficult for me to pinpoint a favorite tea from those I tried today as each had their own distinct and addictive qualities. The green tea had more punch to it's flavor and was great for a pick me up experience, whereas the barley black tea was way more subtle, so relaxing, and comforting. I would't say one was better than the other as I enjoyed both. The boba pearls were yummy and obviously freshly made too as I could taste it in its soft and chewy texture, which I found quite entertaining as it complemented the tea favors quite well.....in a fun way. To sum up my experience visiting Chapresso today, I would say that it was fun, exciting, and a great discovery. What I am truly excited about is that I have finally discovered this boba tea place that offers premium quality teas, and none of all that unhealthy processed sugar, powders, and artifically flavored junk you find everywhere else. Also, what I learned from overhearing the owner talking to some curious patrons is that they would be introducing more great tea flavors in the future, and even a slush version for the younger crowd to enjoy. Note that we were also informed at the time of placing our order that, depending on the level of ice we choose, the level of tea in the cup may seem to be somewhat less than full. This is intentional as, since each cup is custom brewed and served fresh, each portion of tea is brewed with a precise amount of water, and as such, remains constant. If less or no ice is requested in the drink, then obviously the level of tea in the cup will be lower vs if you ordered it with more ice, then the level will be higher. Excellent service by very nice, friendly, and courteous staff/owner....clean, modern, and cool interior with a semi-private, charming, and peaceful little outdoor patio to enjoy ypur delicious boba tea, and plenty of street parking. Definite worth future visits if we happen to be in the area again. read more
I came recently and got their phoenix oolong milk tea with boba and sweetness level 3 (on a scale from 1 to 5). I usually get 75% sweetness so I was a little confused when I was told that 4 is actually regular sweetness, so I'd assume 5 is extra sweet? Regardless the drink was creamy and tasty without being too sweet, and the boba was a nice texture for me, just a tad softer than other places. My only critique is that the honey boba doesn't seem to have any sweetness on its own, and sometimes when I was chewing on it, I'd only taste the tapioca and no honey flavor. Maybe it doesn't sit in the honey as long as other places? The service was great and there's a good amount of street parking, making this a convenient place to stop by! read more
Phoenix oolong 5/5 - this was very good!! You can taste the tea flavor in the drink and it is a good balance of sweet, tea, and milk. I will definitely come back to try their other drinks. Boba was also very good. It is pretty pricey but for the quality I guess it's worth it once in a while. read more

Small line on a weekend only took about 30 mins from start to drink. The phoenix oolong milk tea was good, but something about the sweetness level and temperature of the made me question if my tea was actually good. I asked for 75% sweet but it tasted more bland, like less than 50%. Service was good, some outdoor seating which was nice. read more

Came here because I wanted freshly brewed tea! I ordered the Iron Goddess Oolong milk tea since I heard that the tea flavor is stronger than that of the Phoenix Oolong. I got 50% sugar and less ice and felt like it was still on the sweet side (maybe due to the honey boba). Tea flavor is strong (which I like!) and boba is good but I think I will pass on it next time. There's not much indoor seating, but there's a few tables/chairs outside! There's street parking right in front of the building. read more
was hoping for it to be an orobae dupe but it wasn't. My friends and I ordered a couple different things to try but most of them were pretty diluted. The tea taste wasn't strong. I believe we ordered the Phoenix oolong milk tea, iron goddess oolong milk tea, and the Jasmine pekoe green milk tea. Out of all of them, the iron goddess has the most tea flavor and had a more depth in flavor. They were having 15% off for soft opening which was nice. The workers were all super nice too. read more
Five stars! Chapresso brings me happiness and brings me back happy memories. I enjoyed the drinks and was very pleased with the service. I am always impressed when a place can make something taste good that I normally don't enjoy. I really liked the Gyokuro green milk tea although my usual go to at other places would be a Jasmine green milk tea. My top choices would be the Phoenix Oolong milk tea and the Gyokuro milk tea at about 50% or a 2 level sweetness (most places I do 70%). Oh boy oh boy and because I was able to get the BOGO promotion I decided to splurge and try the honey boba. I have to say it was Soo worth the extra calories. They were so delightful! I would have to say the Barley Black milk tea was good but to me but there was barely any barley taste (haha mild in other words) but more of a black tea flavor. I ought to say I was also impressed that the extra drink I ordered and left in the fridge overnight still tasted just as amazing the next day! I wonder what milk they use and how they make it so tasty. I have already recommended this place to my tea friends who also thought the tea was good! I hope Chapresso continues to maintain the quality of their drinks and service since I will definitely be back to try the other teas! A side note to the workers and owner. I really appreciate the patience and full transparency as in the wait time and the explanation of why our drink wouldn't fill the cup the same way if we ordered our drink with no ice before we paid. read more

Went for the first time yesterday, and loved my drinks! Iron Goddess Oolong Milk Tea (50% sweet, less ice) - This one was my favorite! Perfect amount of sweetness, and milky/creaminess but the tea taste still came through. Would definitely order again. Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea (50% sweet, less ice) - This drink tasted less tea-forward, but overall still great flavors. There isn't any indoor seating (unless you count waiting area), but there are plenty of tables and chairs outdoors. Overall, I got a good first impression of Chapresso, and definitely see myself visiting often in the future! read more
I first heard of Chapresso through instagram. I saw their ad for their soft opening and immediately looked at their Yelp page to get a better sense of what they serve and offer. I really liked what I saw and knew I had to come here. So I finally found the time to come here and I was throughly satisfied and more. It's small storefront where you can order at the counter or they also have a set up so you can self order as well. The staff were so friendly. Since they have two type of oolong teas. I asked them what the difference between the two were. They explained that the phoenix is lighter and is similar to a green tea. And the iron goddess has a more earthy flavor. The tea flavor is stronger. They have containers of the tea at the counter so you can smell the tea. The phoenix had a more floral scent to me while the iron goddess has a more earthy scent. I decided to try the phoenix oolong milk tea since I'm a huge fan of both green and oolong tea. So the fact that phoenix has hints of both tea sounded very appealing to me. I ordered it at 75% sweetness and it was perfect sweetness for me. The tea is so creamy and good. I also ordered a ham and cheese croissant which was good. They warmed it up so that was really nice and toasty. They brew the tea when you order it. They use these machines that look like espresso machines but they are actually made to brew the tea. They are designed to brew the tea to extract the most flavor. Their service was also very great. I was greeted immediately when I entered and they answered all my questions. They brought my drink to me and even asked me how it was. I just appreciate it. So I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Got the phoenix oolong milk tea. Aromatic tea with some creaminess. I wouldn't mind having a little more milk in there but that may offset the tea flavor. If you want boba, I'd wait until after noon time to order. It's a small shop so not ideal to study or work unless there's no one else there. They do have wifi. read more
New boba shop in town that is located right off Huntington Drive in San Marino. There's limited street parking in front of the shop. Service was fantastic. I came here during their soft opening and it was not too busy. There's some seating inside and outside. The staff were friendly, patient, explained the menu with their various tea options they offer, and they even offered for me to try my drink on the spot + will remake it if it wasn't to satisfaction. There's these sample tea leave fragrance jars at the front that you can open and get a sense of what the fragrance of the tea leaves will be like. They hand brew a fresh cup of tea per order, so it may take a bit longer than most chain boba stores out there, but it's well worth it as you'll know they were made on spot just for you. For this visit, I tried their Phoenix Oolong Tea & Barley Black Tea. Both were super delicious and made from high-quality tea. The Phoenix oolong tea was just a strong oolong tea flavor while the barley black tea had a nice roasted undertone flavor to it. I will try their milk teas next time. They do use non-dairy creamer, which I am not a fan of. I inquired if they have fresh milk options, but they told me not at this time due to many Asians having lactose intolerance. I recommended them to still carry the option for fresh milk as that will enhance the "fresh and more natural" nature to their drinks. read more

Been here a couple of times and their teas are quality. Can confirm jasmine green tea and the oolong tea are both solid. This time I tried the matcha latte because someone recommended and I'd say 3.5/5. Matcha had clumps and was not whisked well. I would stick to the other teas here. Service is great and fast all the times I've come in. Their ordering kiosk is great and easy to use. Shop itself is very small so if there's more than 4-5 people inside, it starts to feel claustrophobic. Free parking along Huntington Dr but a major pain to reverse out if there's traffic. read more
I ordered the Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea. If you're a fan of milky drinks, def check this place out! It's soo good, I got it at 50% sweetness and it was just right for me. The drinks came out quickly and the Regular is a perfect size at 16oz. There's an ordering screen or you can order with the cashier. The space is bright but small. There's limited seating inside. There's a good amount of seating outside though. There's free street parking available. read more

Stopped by here to try a tea shop in the City of San Marino, CA., because it's right next to the City of Arcadia, CA., my favorite work town. I looked at the menu a tad and decided to try their 'Barley Black Milk Tea,' with Lychee Jelly. This was a spot on order: it tasted 100% delish with full tea flavors right on point. Service: 5/5/~Barista walked out to deliver me personally the drink because I was taking pics outside the shop patio. Food/Drinks~5/5I ordered just a tea, but I don't see they offer any food items so just the Barley Black Milk Tea with less sugar and lychee jelly. Yummm.. Ambiance: 5/5simple, a smaller shop with no public restrooms at least not one I can see. They spread extra tables and chairs outside the patio, but inside was smaller. Will be back for another diff drink next!!!! Thanks for getting my drink to the point. read more

If you're missing Orobae's gyokuro green milk tea, Chapresso has one that's similar in taste. I've tried a few drinks from this place and overall, all of the milk teas have a strong tea flavor. I usually get 50% sweet and their honey boba. The honey boba is a bit on the sweeter side but has a nice texture. Only downside is this spot is a bit out of the way from the usual OC areas. Also, this spot sells some rotating baked goods if you wanted to grab a sweet treat too. Overall, there's usually not a long line for this spot. The drinks take a bit longer to make though. There are some benches inside for you to wait for your drinks, and there are some tables outside where you could sit and talk. read more

One of the few boba shops that actually brew the tea! It's located on Huntington drive and parking is in the front. I ordered their jasmine pekoe milk tea 50% sugar with boba. At first, the jasmine milk tea was little too bitter for me and they were kind enough to remake for me and added 75% sugar this time. The drink was perfect and you can definitely taste the tea. read more

The shop is really quaint and I actually couldn't find it when following directions for walking. I'm pretty picky with matcha but their matcha latte was amazing. I'm not a huge fan of overly sweet or milky like matcha so this was a perfect blend of matcha and milk for me and the right sweetness (I got 50% sugar). Drinks/tea are made to order and the tea itself is aromatic and strong! I absolutely love it! The tea to dairy/creamer ratio is perfection. The boba is soft, sweet, and chewy! Definitely coming back to try more flavors! The gyokuro tea smells very promising. The menu is short, but concise. They really specialize in their tea! They have cool machines brewing it as well! No canisters with premade old tea being poured here! Service is friendly and efficient. The shop is small, with no restrooms. Minimalist decor and clean. There is an outdoor seating area that has cute benches and chairs shared with other businesses. Free parking on the street in designated zones. read more

My first time trying this place out and when i went there wasnt many people because it was close to closing time. I got greeted as soon as i walked thru the door. Its pretty much all kiosk ordering which was easy to use. Its not that big of a place but theres a few seats indoors to sit and wait for your order. I got the strawberry fruit tea and 75% sugar was a little too sweet still but the ice level was perfect. My drink was quite refreshing for an after dinner tea drink but i could go less sugar than 75%. read more

As a milk tea enjoyer, this is one of my current favorite spots for milk tea drinks. Everything from the tea to the cup and straw feels high quality. The staff is friendly and was making jokes with my friends the last time I went. Parking isn't bad but you will have to back out into Huntington Drive traffic(if you're lucky no cars incoming lol). It's worth the trip! The inside is small but there's seating outside so you can sit/chill with your friends outside and can bring your dog. I will be back more often! This boba shop is a great addition to San Marino. read more

On a Sunday afternoon in February, my sister wanted to try this tea place. Luckily I found parking in front. Inside the space is small with few stools to sit or wait for drinks. We ordered on the tablet so it was easy. I ordered the jasmine pekoe green tea and waited for name to be called. At first I took a sip and the tea was strong then I shook it several times and the tea lessen its strong flavor. Next time I will try the fruit teas. It has few tables outside. read more

you can tell just by the aroma of the store as you walk in that you will be getting high quality teas here. I tried the jasmine pekoe green milk tea with agar boba (have heard they run out of honey boba frequently and they were out when I went as well). I really enjoyed it as it's not too sweet and has a great jasmine taste. definitely would come back!! I hope to see chapresso in the OC in the future. read more

Do your drinks have caffeine?
Hello, all our teas except for our hibiscus teas have caffeine. However, teas usually have about 30% of caffeine or less compared to coffee. The only tea we currently have that has equivalent caffeine to one shot of espresso is our matcha!
What kind of milk is in the milk tea?
At the moment, we strictly use non-dairy creamer. However, we are looking into adding additional milk and milk alternative options in the near future!
Will you be adding other toppings like grass jelly? I didn't see that many choices
Hi, we are always testing new drinks and toppings! We do think in the future we might be adding more topping options, but as of right now we only have 4 options: honey boba, agar boba, lychee jelly, and mango jelly. Sorry about that.

Hello, in addition to the street parking along Huntington Drive, we also have a parking lot next to our block (adjacent to Verizon) with about 20 spaces that is usually empty!
