Tried plenty of tea shops in the 626, but Chun Yang is still one of my favorite! As an oolong tea lover, their Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea Latte ($6.79) is my go to. I usually ask for less ice and 0% percent sugar since it's already sweetened with honey. The oolong is fragrant, smooth and tastes high quality, making every sip a treat. This drink instantly brightens my day. The staff are friendly and ordering from the self-service kiosk makes it quick and easy. It's definitely a grab and go spot. The only downside is that the shop is tucked toward the back of the plaza, somewhat hidden and parking can be difficult during busy times. I usually have better luck finding street parking. Chun Yang Tea is a small shop in a busy plaza. There wasn't any parking since all the other businesses had taken up spots for visitors and employees. There was a steady stream of people coming and leaving at all times. We ordered from the self serve kiosk. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks when there were only 3 people ahead of us. The drinks were watered down in comparison to other places despite being less ice for two drinks. The hojicha latte with brown sugar pearls is only available on weekends. The tea taste and milk didn't mesh together well. Oolong tea with pudding also tasted more like water than tea. The pudding was overwhelming. It is similar (if not the same) as ones you get from japanese convenience stores. For the price point, I would have expected berger taste and quality. The wait wasn't worth it for what was being served. I don't think I'd come back to this location but might give it another try elsewhere. read more

My favorite boba shop in all of SGV! And that's saying something because I feel like I've tried like 50+ stores in the 626 the past 2 decades. The tea is so on point and the boba has never failed me in taste and texture. Ive never had a problem with an employee and it's always clean when I go in. However! I will knock down 1 star because they open at 12 but often, the boba isn't ready until 12:15-1230. The last time I went in, they told me 10 minutes but I stood there for a full 40 minutes before I got my drink. I have to go back to work! Please have boba ready by 1215 or at least be honest about how long I need to wait so I can go somewhere else. Also, parking kinda sucks. Can't believe I've never tried this place despite eating in the plaza at Nha Trang! It was really hot today, and I was feeling some fruit tea and decided to check out the store. I didn't realize that the inside was so much bigger because the windows outside make it look very small. There's a bench for seating and it's largely a waiting room area. Ordering was very easy through an iPad and you had many different choices, including the free option for lactose free milk, soy milk, and almond milk. No extra charge! The staff were very nice and friendly! It's such a neat space and I have sometimes flip-flop between a milk, tea, a fruit tea, and a smoothie. Luckily this location has all three options. Chun Yang continues to be at the top of my list of drink places to visit whenever I'm in the San Gabriel Valley area. I love the Oolong tea from here and the variations that they offer have all been very good. I especially like the Pomelo Oolong Tea ($6.49), which is a nice change from the grapefruit that they offer. I also like the Lemon Green Tea with Green Tea Jelly ($5.99) and Kumquat Lemon ($6.59) from here. Service here is great - people are friendly and helpful. Parking can be a bit difficult but you can park at the lot next to it if you're not planning to stay long. I got the sugar cane green tea with less ice and 30% sweetness. This is perfect for my taste on a hot day. My cousin got the orange mountain tea that has a piece of orange inside. She think it could be better. Decided to try this boba spot after seeing so many good reviews. I tend to resort to Chicha San Chen or Molly Tea when I'm around this area, but wanted to try something new. It's nestled in a little plaza with minimal parking. Luckily, we went on a weekday and there were at least 2 parking spots open. The shop itself is small-- as soon as you enter, the register is right there with the self service kiosk to the left and the waiting area to the right. Even though there was only 1 party ahead of us, it took around 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since we ordered a lot of drinks. For myself, I was able to try the traditional roasted oolong milk tea with pearl and the hojicha latte-- both at 70% sweet. I have a sweet tooth, so the sweetness was at a perfect level for both. However, I didn't get that much of a strong roasted oolong taste in the milk tea as I've gotten from other boba shops. The hojicha latte was good enough, but also did not have that strong, nutty taste in comparison to others. I was excited when I heard chun yang from Taipei was opening - it's a solid go to in Taipei. The one in LA had tea lattes which included fresh milk which I appreciate. Im giving 5 stars because suppose to rate the taste and quality and this place deserves that. Parking is pretty awful probably ranks almost most worse of any parking lot I experienced. Then many people end up double parking. This is the standard of certain developers in the past and sometimes in the present you may see shopping centers with limited parking number of spaces, because parking spaces don't make money unless you charge people for spaces. Anyways, the drinks and tea taste is wholesome and true. Be careful though if you ask for less ice it's almost kinda like added water?? just my opinion or maybe my imagination. I got the roasted oolong latte with boba at 70% sugar. This was good but definitely a bit too sweet, I wish I opted for 50% maybe even 30%. Amidst many mediocre bubble tea spots, Chan Yang Tea shines. My hubby and I are picky about places that specialize in tea. Often times these places offer sweet water without or barely there tea flavor. Chin Yang brews their tea strong, which we loved. We liked that we could adjust the sweetest too. The tea shop itself is simplistic and clean. Busy place but they try and move quickly to expedite your order. The overall store setup promotes "takeout only" ;however, there's a couple of benches you can sit at and sip your drink. I wanna say it's a "cashless" payment tea shop spot only;however, I usually like to use cash and they were accommodating, so maybe they take both:cash and card, but I think prefer cashless transactions.
