I was hesitant to go to such a popular shop, worried it was overrated and lame--they blew it out of the water! Yvonne helped customize a piece for me with care and precision and I will definitely be back. The shop itself was clean, reception was respectful and welcoming, overall vibes were immaculate.

I had such an incredible experience with Chapter One Tattoo and I will definitely be coming back. My friend Danielle referred me to artist Drake and he truly made my tattoo dreams come true. I had been wanting a dainty sword and I had reached out to Chapter One Tattoo and got a response so quickly, I sent a couple photos for inspiration and was told Drake would be able to do the work for me. I made my appointment and even though we needed to adjust the timing to an early hour I was given plenty of time and it actually worked in my favor as well. During the date of my appointment I found parking closer to the residential side of OB and walked a couple of blocks. The shop is super clean and beautifully decorated and played my favorite songs growing up. Signed my questionnaire and waited to meet Drake, I came early and had plenty of time to settle my nerves. When I met Drake he had such a relaxed aura about him which in term made me feel so comfortable, he let me know that he was cleaning up and resetting his station. Truly his station is impeccable and organized, he showed me the stencil he created and I was in awe, I was a little nervous because this was my first tattoo but he was really reassuring. After we got the perfect size, we went over the coloring of the stone in the middle of the sword, I really appreciate that he was super detail oriented. We chatted in the beginning of him tattooing me which I think was more for me to ease my nerves but within the first 5 minutes I was so calm and relaxed, Drake is super gentle and I barely felt anything, seriously such a great experience. When he finished he looked over his work to make sure there wasn't any detail he missed, after a couple look overs and final touches we were set and I am in absolute awe. My little sword is so dainty and magical and beautiful and also so powerful and strong, I love it. I look at it everyday and think it looks like something out of my favorite fantasy book. If you need a super detail oriented artist who is gentle and precise please reach out to Drake you won't regret it. Thank you!

I can't recommend Chapter One Tattoo enough. Clean environment and friendly staff with plenty of different artists based off of your vibes. I went with Drake who specializes in fine line. He was so patient, listened to all my requests and drew everything up perfectly! He communicated throughout the process just asking if I needed a break, a snack or drinks. Super thankful to have been recommended this shop by a friend. Darigo was amazing both incredibly talented and genuinely welcoming. This was my first tattoo, so I was a little nervous and ended up doing two consults before my appointment. Darigo listened to all of my concerns and never made me feel bad for asking the same questions over and over lol. He made the entire experience feel comfortable and reassuring from start to finish. Great experience . It's a clean shop with great service . Try making an appointment because walk in availability is vary rare. I can't seem to remember my artists name but he did a magnificent job. I emailed them prior to what I wanted so he had some different designs when I showed up and made the adjustments I wanted without hesitation. It was my first tattoo and he was very great at making me feel comfortable and started with slow strokes. Great price for the work and clean read more

Cash is without question the best tattoo artist around. His portraits / realism are unreal and unrivaled to any other artist, IMO. His shop is clean and his staff is friendly. As a native San Diegan and avid tattoo collector I can say that Chapter 1 is one of the best shops in SD. They have tons of artists and they all have their own unique style that they specialize in. Got tattooed a few weeks ago by Mike and was so happy with my overall experience that I decided to write a review. I honestly don't think I can go anywhere else after coming here. This shop is hands down one of the nicest and cleanest tattoo shops I have stepped foot in. When I came in for my consultation I was pretty impressed. There's incredible artwork all over the walls drawn by Chapter One's own artists. It was all good vibes, from the receptionist to the artists and apprentices. Everyone seemed really happy and was having a good time, which says a lot. I didn't meet the owner but he knows how to run a legit business well. If you know who Cash Scott is... then you know about his insane legendary artwork. 'nuff said. I checked out a lot of the artists through IG and they all have their own unique styles. Really just depends on your preference. Huge thanks to my tattoo artist Mike though!! I booked with him because i like his style of art and he's a dope artist. I trusted him to do a portrait tattoo and he didn't disappoint. He made me feel really comfortable even though getting a tattoo may not be a pleasant experience. He is good company, even came in on his day off to accommodate my busy schedule and stayed pretty late to finish my piece. I really appreciate that. Thanks so much Mike!! Chapter One Tattoo Shop is awesome and Gary Dunn is an amazing, super friendly, and talented artist!! I had been holding off on getting this tattoo, because I've seen so many bad renditions of it. I walked in and the front desk was very helpful. After showing them what I wanted, they suggested two artists and showed me their portfolios and Gary was an obvious choice by looking at his work. The shop is super clean, everyone is friendly and professional, and they definitely make feel welcome. No tattoo snobs! Not to mention the price for what I got was super fare!! Yet another great experience at Chapter One. Linked up with Colton to turn an old quarter sleeve into a full traditional Japanese sleeve. I left the design completely up to him and he put something together way beyond what I could have imagined. He did it over three sessions and there were no issues whatsoever. When my hubby and I decided to get our tattoos I searched for quite a while to find the perfect artist. Chapter one had great ratings and all the artists had such nice portfolios. I saw Albert's work and was really impressed with the level of detail. Even though we were only getting script I still wanted to feel a connection with the artist. We made our initial appointment and had a brief consult with Albert. We showed him some ideas on what we wanted and he indicated he'd work on our script. A few months later we were back and Albert showed us a few styles for our tattoos. One was exactly what we wanted and we decided to go for it. They both turned out perfect? We are both so so happy with the art and are so glad we did our homework. We will definitely be back for any future work. We booked four tattoos with Casey, his communication and interactions with us were all so amazing. Our tattoos were small and we were able to fit them in the two hour window that we had booked but nothing felt rushed or as though we had to make sacrifices. I am rather anxious around needles, the entirety of my tattoos Casey engaged in conversation with me, my S/O didn't want to talk at all and Casey was able to read his body language and move forward with the tattoo. We were left with four beautiful pieces exactly how we pictured them. Casey has such an amazing bedside manner and a light hand. 10/10 will be returning! Thanks so much for this artwork :) read more

It seemed like they probably do good work there but my customer service experience was very average. I waited for about 20 mins after showing for my appointment. Seemed like nobody was providing management for customer flow. Kurtis finally met with me. He said he does all his work free hand on the spot. No drawings before putting ink to skin. This shop is excellent. Everything was sharp and clean. There is killer artwork and design in every direction. Everyone in the shop was down to earth and positive. The artists were all constantly bouncing ideas off of one another, and it really felt like a solid and collaborative space for high quality tattoo art. I have been trying to settle on exactly what I wanted to get tattoo'd for quite a while now. I brought in a few references and gave Colton a description of what I was looking for. He came up with two designs that were perfect. Seriously, perfect. Colton was very friendly and made me feel welcome and comfortable. His technical application was super clean. His ideas on placement and planning space for future projects were excellent. A few weeks later and both tattoo's are healing very nicely, and I get compliments on the design and colors constantly. The hourly rate was well worth it. I will definitely be booking with Colton again. The guy is a professional and does killer work. read more

At the beginning of May I got my first tattoo here and had the most wonderful experience. I came in about a month before to book an appointment and put down my deposit. I had only positive interactions with everyone who worked with me and would recommend this shop to anyone looking for some good work! Colton did some roses on my hip and was super nice and great to work with. He made sure I got exactly what I wanted and was super personable and helpful throughout the whole process. Feels redundant based on the other awesome reviews but this place is GREAT. My husband and I requested a last minute appointment with 24hr notice and they were able to work us in. He's a veteran to tattoo's and I'm a novice and we were both impressed by the studio. It's super clean and cared for, very sexy interior design (in my opinion), and everyone was very kind and helpful. Kenny was our artist and he did a great job with some simple Roman numerals - gave us several options for font/size/placement help and was super chill when I said it was my first tattoo and I couldn't guarantee I wouldn't cry. I didn't cry because Kenny was an expert in efficiency and skill. 10/10 recommend this spot! read more

Where do I begin? This shop is incredible. The staff are all friendly and they follow-up with appointments multiple times. They are also diligent on sending notifications on cancellations in case you wanted to pick up an extra session with your artist. The music is great and so is the decor. This shop is extra clean, and the staff do an excellent job at adhering to COVID guidelines. All stations are thoroughly sanitized in between clients, I have seen this multiple times in one sitting. Very impressed with how much effort is put into to ensuring a safe session, even in the face of a pandemic. Very cool. I've been coming for a year and I've had 6 or 7 sessions with Colton. Colton is outstanding. He is polite, very engaging, and does a damn good job at tattooing. I never write reviews on Yelp, but I had to write one after today's session. I recommend Colton to literally everyone I meet who inquires if I know a tattoo artist in San Diego. Colton is your man. This place deserves more than 5 stars! Cash runs a legit business. From start to finish, the process was smooth and so professional. He set the bar really high. Cash responded to my online inquiry himself asking questions about what I wanted. He recommended an artist and set up my consultation right away. Easy as pie! The shop is BEAUTIFUL. Not only is it clean and organized but beautifully decorated. You can tell that a lot of thought and energy was put into the shop. And EVERYONE in the shop is so friendly. Colton did my tattoo and he is, for lack of better words, a really cool guy. He obviously cares about his craft and makes sure you are getting what you want. We had a brief convo about Pauly Shore that is still making me laugh. =) Cash was working on someone else in the chair next to mine and he was really humble. I walked into Chapter One Tattoo not really knowing what to expect given it was my first tattoo. From the moment I walked in, I never felt like I was in a tattoo shop. I absolutely loved that aspect! It was clean, bright, uplifting, great music, great customer service and an all around positive vibe! I knew I was where I wanted to be. I was also fortunate enough to have Colton as my artist. Colton is extremely professional, polite, fun to work with, and has an amazing love and dedication for the work he does. I wouldn't just recommend this shop to anyone who is looking to get some ink, but someone who is also looking for a positive experience to go along with it!! I had been hesitating for a long time to get full portrait done because I didn't think that any artists in the area would be able to deliver what I wanted...at least for a reasonable price. I saw Dan's work and figured that he could be the man for the job and I was absolutely blown away by what he was able to produce. The portrait piece he did was far better than anything I had imagined and the whole process was easy and pain free. Dan and this shop are at the top of my list for any future work I'll have done. I've been in Southern California now for years and finally made myself go get a piece I have always wanted. I chose Charter 1 and am so happy I did! I was greeted by Ant (Anthony), who was friendly and informative. After a short conversation he introduced me to Spencer who was sketching in the back with a few others. I was comfortable with Spencer the entire time. He was very detailed and you could tell he really wanted to see my vision. I am 110% satisfied and extremely grateful to Spencer for making it perfect! So first this is a long over due review. This is a very nice clean shop with good music jammin. Colton did my piece. He is an amazing artist, cool guy, and patient with altering an idea. These guys work based on an hourly rate and each is different so meet up with someone that fits what you want. And they're honest if they dont feel they can ultimately satisfy the work and design your requesting they have no problem letting you know and directing you to who might work best. I appreciate that!! Also, Dont forget to tip your artist they are more than deserving of it! Colton's work speaks for itself! I'm still in awe of my piece. Cool spot where the owner Mike also features his other business the Good Company Golf Club (will have to check out their sim another time). About 15 minutes later I was led back by my artist Zhu who was patient with the tweaks I wanted to make and communicated clearly the process. After 45 minutes my small piece was done and she also explained the after care instructions thoroughly. Cash only for their tattoo services but they have an atm in the waiting area for convenience.

He was quick to respond and asked for a $200 deposit, which I sent via Apple Pay on March 5 to the shop owner. We booked for March 16. Leading up to the appointment, he would send random updates on the design, but nothing was finalized. I gave feedback and stayed patient, even knowing they had a Friday the 13th event going on. I didn't hit him up again until March 15 (the day before my appointment) because we STILL didn't have a finished design, which is wild. He tells me he'll have it done that day. Cool. Then a few hours later, I get a generic email saying my appointment is canceled. No explanation. Nothing. So I reach out to the number I sent my $200 to asking for a refund, and instead of handling it like professionals, they get confrontational and start acting like I'm the problem for asking for MY money back. They try to hide behind a "no refund" policy... even though THEY canceled on me. Make that make sense. I added my conversation with the artist, since the owner wants to claim harassment. Judge for yourself. No policy was ever clearly shown to me, and communication was trash the entire time. Instead of owning their mistake, they blamed me and got disrespectful. I only got my money back after I told them I'd file a chargeback with my bank and take them to small claims court. Go read their bad reviews--you'll see a pattern, especially with how the owner talks to customers. Super unprofessional. Save your time, save your money, and go somewhere else.

I went in for a classic pedicure and asked for her to file my nails and change the color, that's it! The technician was nice so I feel bad leaving this review, but the way she removed the gel from my toes was awful! She filed it down, put acetone and let it sit for a bit. Then she proceeded to peel off the old gel and tore the corner of my nail OFF. She then proceeded to say I had thin nails! I've been getting gel pedicures for a while now and NEVER has anyone tore a piece of my nail OFF! As a technician, even if my nail was thin she could of used a machine to remove the gel instead of tearing it off the way she did. I was so upset! She tried to tell me she would add a piece, which I declined so I just told her to cut what she could without leaving my nail too short. I will never return here. Maybe some folks like this method of removal but I did not and will not be returning for a pedicure. I will add the chairs were comfortable and I also got a gel manicure which he added so many layers too! There was one lady too that came by and was just talking to the technician who did my nails and the vibe just felt uncomfortable! I will never return!

So, I´ve got my first and only tattoo (until a week ago) around 9-10 years ago, back then, I just walked in to this place, and had it done, by I don´t even know who. Don´t get me wrong, I don´t regret it, and the tattoo shop is a well know place in El Paso area, but this time I decided to do it differently. I´ve wanted this tattoo for a long while, and well, like it means a lot to me, I decided that it would be a good idea to do a little bit of research, to find a place, and an artist that I would be 100% sure would make it beautiful. I was planning a one week vacations in San Diego, and started to look on the internet for a place in the area we were staying at, Ocean Beach (awesome area btw, we loved it), and that´s how I found Chapter One, I started to follow the Instagrams of the shop and some of the artists, and almost immediatly knew Mike Villalobos was the one, his small portraits are beautiful, the details are perfect; so I was glad, that after 4 months of Instagram following, when I sent the email requesting an appointment, Mike was available for the day I wanted. Brittany was really fast replying and helpful thru email, giving me advice; I was asked for a deposit, which I easily sent using PayPal. The place is super clean, nice and with a lot of space, and everyone was really friendly, a couple of the guys working there were kind enough to give advice, so I got the idea that everyone there works as a real team; I have to mention that I took my mom with me, and the guy who received us even brought his 10 years old spanish language out to talk to my mom (we are from Mexico, and she doesn´t speak english), and that was super nice from him. Mike was super professional, and nice, I can´t praise him enough, my tattoo (dog portrait) is exactly what I wanted, and I´m really thankfully, because my mom, who is not really a fan of tattoos, left the place with a whole new idea about them, she is still amazed by Mike´s work, and even thought she is not getting a tattoo soon, she understands a little bit more, and has a lot more respect about the artists and this topic in general. So, now if I want another tattoo is going to be a little more expensive, since I´m gonna have to travel all to way to Ocean Beach just to get it, I guess. Keep up with your great work guys, you are running a great place, keep it like that! And lastly, thanks for the shirt! I´m going to be proudly wearing it around Ciudad Juarez/El Paso area! Me and my girlfriend did a lot of research before we chose Chapter One Tattoo. We looked online, went to shops, asked friends on FB and just about every other method known to man. I have 8 tattoos but had never had any serious work done. So I wanted a skilled artist who could give me what I wanted no matter what the cost, I wanted detail! We found Chapter One on here and just based on the photos alone were intrigued to go down to the shop and check it out. When we got down to the shop we were immediately greeted by one of the artists who was doing a leg tat. He told us to look at the portfolio books and pick an artist. Originally I was going to have Cash do my tat but after looking at the books decided to go with Paul Vandenburg his detail work is amazing and the photo of the old war plane with the lightning and his lowriders had me hooked. I grabbed a card and started preparing some material for him to use, a week later Paul had created a masterpiece and blended every image I gave him into a dazzling tattoo, that I am super proud to display!! Not to mention the price! I would have easily paid double for the work I received. Paul definitely has a lifetime customer in me. This shop is the BOMB! They are down to earth people, and easy to work with. The staff interacted with me smoothly throughout the entire process. I felt at home and comfortable. In the end my tattoo is the shiznit! Chapter One Rocks and if you know what you want and got the dough, this is where you wanna be. All of their artists are extremely talented and capable of doing whatever you can possibly dream up, the walls are filled with plaques from all of the awards, the artists have gathered throughout their career! This past January, my wife and I, along with my brother and sister-in-law were in town for a business trip. We had all decided to get tattoos and so I did some research prior to making a decision on the shop that would do our work. I wanted to find a clean establishment that had an environment that would not be threatening to the ladies, especially my wife who was getting her first tat. Chapter One far exceeded our collective expectations! Prior to the consultation, Amanda was very prompt and helpful with getting us scheduled, and what can I say about Albert and Isaac? The amount of time and patience Isaac had for my wife on the day of the consult and especially the day of the work as she was near hyperventilation was wonderful! Albert made my daughter's design for my infinity tat come alive and I couldn't be happier. He also touched up my cross tattoo from 10 years ago and it pops so much better than it ever did! Both guys were very engaging and easy to converse with throughout the process. My wife absolutely loves her ornate cross behind her ear and loves to show it off. I'm so glad we landed on Chapter One as Yelp really helped drive the decision. The staff here made our family bonding experience an 11/10 and should we ever get more ink and are in San Diego, we know where we are heading. read more

Yo. Once known as Full Circle now known as Chapter One this tattoo shop has had an amazing facelift. Tomas and Cash remodeled the joint and made it more professional and inviting. As a merchant here on Newport Ave. I would support local business regardless, but not if I didnt get the best tattoo work. I had been thinking of a Day of the Dead tattoo for some time and had gone to Tomas Archuleta who months prior had blasted a Green lady onto my wrist effortlessly. Tomas said that he would draw up something original for me. After a few sessions on said piece we finished on Wednesday night. I have plenty of tats on my arms already, but never have I been complimented on a piece as much as this one. Its sick. Exactly what I wanted. His attention to detail and ability to bring ideas to life on human skin is uncanny. I recently visited Chapter One Tattoo to complete a half-sleeve tattoo that I had started years ago with another artist who had since moved out of state. I was a bit nervous about switching artists, but from the moment I walked in, I felt at ease. The environment was spotless and the music was a perfect mix of genres, catering to all kinds of tastes. The staff at the front desk were incredibly kind and helpful, making the whole process smooth from the start. My artist, De, did an amazing job! She listened closely to what I was looking for and was able to seamlessly blend her work with my existing tattoo. You wouldn't be able to tell that different artists were involved. Not only are Tomas Archuleta and Cash Scott amazing artists, but they are some of the nicest, stand up guys around... I love them both and am very happy to support them in their new endeavor with Chapter One Tattoo. Cash is my artist and we are still in the process of finishing a huge side/back piece on me... It's been a long journey, but we are getting there and at the end of each continued session I'm so excited with the new progress. I had a concept and Cash ran with it, bringing it to life even better than I had ever expected... SO EXCITED for the final product! I already get tons of compliments on my piece even though it isn't near finished yet... Along with his extraordinary talent as a tattoo artist, Cash has also become a very good friend of mine... I had a tattoo done on my shoulder about 10 years ago and was never finished due to the fact the artist went M.I.A. I went to see Albert at the shop to see about fixing it up and he did an awesome job for me. Its a good feeling to knowing that I had something finished for once and looked cooler than before! Albert was great, he let me know what he was doing and showed me what it was gonna look like by end. He was also very informative and knowledgeable about tattooing. Seeing some of his other work and talking to others he has done tattoos for I will be definitely be a loyal customer to this guy. As the far as the shop goes all the way awesome. The staff is friendly and VERY talented. Every one here knows what they are doing and they do it well. Every client walking out after getting work done had a fat smile on their face cause of the work they got. I don't mind making the 2hr drive to this place to get work done, its worth it. Plus its by the beach so you cant go wrong. read more

What can I say about Chapter One Tattoo that you don't immediately see as soon as you walk in the door. Awesome, clean decor that smells of rich mahogany. Incredibly friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Every guy there is super knowledgable and super easy to get along with. I just had my third tattoo done there by Albert "Dexx" Rivera. He is incredibly talented, and super into whatever your idea for a tattoo is. He was able to spot-on draw my tattoo's first time from my descriptions. I have several tattoo's on my arm's and am running out of space, but Albert has been a placement wizard on getting the shape and placement right on the spaces I have left. Almost a year since he did his first tattoo on me it's super vibrant and I get compliments on it all the time. I've been getting tattooed around San Diego for the last ten years. And, without a second thought I will continue to come here now for years to come. read more

I did a bunch of research before deciding to get my tattoo done by Tomas. I gave him a ballpark idea of what I wanted, and he ran with it. coming up with a concept that just blew me away. He did a full back piece for me, and it was an extremely personal piece so I'm glad that I found Tomas. He is a true artist and he captured what I was looking for even when I couldn't quite define or describe it. He is incredibly talented having not only the creativity and vision of an artist, but the technical skill of a master craftsman. All of that aside, however, whenever I am out and about and my tattoo is visible I get stopped so that people can check out my tattoo. And I mean every time. i have to admit that my ego has to thank Tomas too (hehe!) People are blown away by how incredible his work is, and I get to enjoy a little of that. Bottom line...Tomas is THE MAN! I wouldn't go anywhere else to get a tattoo. read more

I have been wanting a tattoo for a few years and have been procrastinating on the design a friend talked me into taking my ideas down to there tattoo artist and letting him put it together for me! The work done by Cash on my friend spoke for its self and I knew this was the artist I wanted. I had a consultation with Cash and went over what I was looking for and set up a appointment. When I came back for the appointment the design he had put together was outstanding. The tattoo took two sessions that were a lot of fun, Cash and the other artists were polite and very funny I felt relaxed the entire time. The shop and staff were clean and professional and the end result was PERFECT! I'm so happy, the tattoo is far better then I had envisioned it, I have a appointment for another all ready! I highly recommend Cash I know I wont go to any one else. Hands down 5 stars. read more

Wow, first off when I walked in, the parlor blew me away. Its beautifully decorated, relaxing and inviting. I was immediately greeted and treated as an equal. Being a new shop, I was a little nervous, but I've heard a lot of really great things about Tomas' work so when I walked in I was pretty sold and once I spoke with him, he considered all of my visions (I wanted The Virgin Mary, roses, filigree, black and grey, a cross, candles and a skull!) and created an incredible back piece for me. His attention to detail is phenomenal and to top it off, every artist in the studio took the time to stop by Tomas' station to say hello and make me feel comfortable. The tattoo is spectacular. Thank you Tomas, Cash, Adam and Albert for making my experience amazing, I would definitely recommend Chapter One Tattoo and Tomas to anyone looking for quality black and grey tattoos. read more

I have never had a tattoo or anything besides my love of my life that got more recognition or compliments in my LIFE....seriously....this and will be a great tattoo for the rest of my life that Cash gave me. And it is exactly what I wanted...gave him my ideas and my wants and made it better than I could ever expected. Cash is one talented mother.....and honestly thats what any tattoo wan-tee or tattoo artist should ever expect.....he will always deliver. Besides that he is a family man...so we will always consider those that think the best of you....which means....exception. Think about it...and would except it!! You;ll understand once you have the experience!! Love the man and the parlor......hope you get the pleasure!! I went into Chapter One with nothing more then an idea in my head and after a few minutes of talking to Albert Rivera he said he could do it and asked me to come back in a week. When I returned I couldn't believe how amazed I was with what he had come up with. What he drew was better then I could have ever imagined. I loved my tattoo so much I have returned to Albert several times. He is such a great artist I receive compliments on my tattoos all the time. I would also like to add that every time I go to Chapter One I feel like family. Everyone there is so friendly and genuine. You could never go wrong getting tattooed by any of the artists there, they are all amazing at what they do. Albert just has a way of bringing my ideas to reality that I will be returning to him until I run out of room. :) read more

First of all, let me set the record straight. There is a 1 star review on here regarding Paul, that's just not true. I had Paul do a touch up and had him add to an existing tattoo and I could not be happier. He was a really cool guy and his ideas for tha addition to my tattoo made it look so much better. The shop had a really good vibe and everyone was really friendly. I met Cash once or twice briefly about 7 months ago and he remembered me. That may not seem like a big deal but he must have met hundreds of people coming in his shop since then so to me it meant something. I will be having Paul do all of my tattoos from this point on. I don't know how anyone could have anything bad to say about him as an artist, or a person in general. Thanks Paul, great work man!!! read more

My wife got her first tattoo there to commemorate our first dog, Cooper. The shop was absolutely immaculate! The staff was kind and explained the process well before we committed. We emailed the artist some fonts and what she wanted. When we got there he had the perfect drawing rendered and ready. He was very patient and did a great job! My wife is extremely happy! The people are very relaxed, yet professional! I would recommend chapter one tattoo to anyone who is interested. The portfolio books we looked through were also every impressive. I enjoy getting tattoo'd on vacation I was told to check out chapter one. I had a last minute tattoo idea while I was in San Diego the shop was near closing talked to Cash and he told me the style I was after I should talk to Adam H. They were more then helpful with all the questions I had and getting me in and getting it done before I left the next morning. Adam went above and beyond what I expected the end result turned out like a master piece like seeing the Mona Lisa for the first time I'm still shocked and I can't stop looking at this master piece thanks Adam H. I'd fly back to San Diego just to have more work done by far the cleanest and professional shop I've ever been to read more

I dig this place. Paul has tattooed me three times, and he's a rad dude and is very professional. You can tell he is dedicated to his art and takes his trade very seriously. I've had artists listen to my idea, find a piece of flash that somewhat resembles what i want, stick it on me and send me home, which is not cool. Paul takes the time to listen to what I'm trying to get done, offers advice on what he thinks would work well and explains what he's doing as he's tattooing, which is super rad. I've seen Tomas' work on a friend, and I've seen the other dudes tattoo and paint in the shop and they're all very talented and experienced. Going back as soon as I have some dough read more

While searching for a tattoo studio for my first tattoo I came across Chapter One Tattoo and Cash. I was so impressed with the reviews on Cash that I knew he was the guy for me. I am a bit of a wuss but decided that I wanted my first tattoo to be on my ribs. Anyone who knows about placement knows that is probably the most painful spot. Cash was very supportive during the whole process and did an amazing job. The shop was also clean and the guys working there are different than any other shop. They all seem to love their job and appreciate their clients. I will be sending all my friends to Chapter One and will definitely be back if I decide to get another. read more

Man what can I say. Tomas is the man! I went in to talk to him about getting some more work done. He was more than happy to get me set up with the tattoo that I wanted. I made an appointment and couldn't wait to get back in there. Tomas is a true artists. I gave him my ideas and he drew up an unbelievable piece of work. Very detailed and exactly what I wanted. I gave him some hard stuff to work with and he put it together so well. I was impressed. He is very willing and open to work with your ideas.
