I booked with an artist named Evan. He was friendly, and I was excited to get a tattoo in the cybersigilism style while also covering scars on my waist that had made me feel self conscious. The first tattoo turned out great and covered most of the scarring. He asked me to return to finish the area around my bellybutton, and I did. Up to that point, everything was going well and my body confidence was beginning to return; it was a great feeling. I then planned to continue the work onto my chest. We scheduled an appointment for Nov 1. He asked me to send concepts, and I sent him everything he requested. He told me he was working on ideas and might need more time, but he never reached out again, so I assumed the appointment was still confirmed. Strike 1: On the day of the appointment he did not show. Another artist at the shop called him on my behalf when he failed to arrive. He apologized and acknowledged that I had driven about thirty minutes each way for nothing. During that call I asked if one week was enough time to design the concept. He said yes, and I asked him to send it when finished. Strike 2: More than a week passed with no update. I reached out to ask about the design. I felt like if i never reached out, he would not initiate communication. He replied that he would have it that evening or the next day. This was another failed commitment. Strike 3: I waited again, he never sent the design on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. By that time, it had been over a month from when I scheduled the Nov 1 appointment, it was now Nov 22nd. At that point I told him I would need to find another artist because the process had become too unreliable. I cannot say if this reflects Eden Tattoo Gallery as a whole or if this was specific to this artist. What is clear is that my time was not respected and communication and follow through were not priorities. It is disappointing because his art was good. I had already spent about $1,000 for both tattoos, including a $100 tip, and I was prepared to invest thousands more into future work. Reliability and professionalism matter to me, and unfortunately that standard was not met. read more

He was super patient working with me...considering all of my input and making suggestions when I wasn't sure. James showed me a few sketches and even combined the two I liked to make the perfect rendition. Mannnnnnnnn, when I tell you he created a masterpiece, I'm not exaggerating! The black and white sketch was amazing, but the finished product with color was absolutely breathtaking. It is honestly 100 times better than I had imagined it. Super customer service and he even squeezed me in last min so I could have it done by my birthday! Oh yeah...almost forgot to mention that this tat is also a cover up to go over a 31 year old tat. James did the job seamlessly!!! Beautiful work and very reasonably priced! What more could you ask for?!?!? The shop is a very nice spot with a good vibe from all the artists. I went on Friday the thirteenth at like 4:45 the wait was long as expected. Ok if you go to a Friday the 13th and you think o it will take an hour. You're wrong it takes a long time because it's a great deal and a chance for the artist to show off and offer their flash at a good price. With that said the wait on Friday the 13th even showing up as late as I did not bad. The shop was also very on top of roll call and setting aside the people who weren't there and moving on to the next. Which kept the line moving pretty quickly. I was very happy with my tattoos by James on the 13th so much so that I went back as a walk in to add some details to it. Mike ended up helping me with my idea brought it life plus some. Both artist amazing both artist had great communication I'd say they both have very light hands when it comes to the tattooing itself. Over all great experiences both times. Shops clean staff is above and beyond friendly and kind. Very much recommend going here. read more

Kristen tattooed an awesome sternum piece for me recently, and I absolutely love it! Both her line work and shading are done so beautifully well! And I've received a lot of compliments about it! I was a little nervous to get my sternum tattooed since it's such a prominent spot on the body, but after perusing her tattoo work and then meeting with Kristen for a consultation, I had full confidence in her execution. Aside from her artistic talent, Kristen is an awesome person to hang out with for hours while getting a tattoo! The shop has a cool vibe, it's very clean, and located in a great spot in SD. I have nothing to say but great things about this shop as well as Lani. Lani is seriously the best. She listens to your ideas and works with you to come up with a masterpiece. I had a few different tattoos from a few different artists and wanted to turn it into a sleeve. I was super worried how it would all blend together considering it wouldn't be all her work. And omg wow. She took her time and we literally did piece by piece to make sure it came out perfect. You literally can't even tell it's work from 3 different artists. I love it. After we did that big piece I was hooked. I came back only a few months later for a leg piece that I am hoping to continue soon. Not only does she do amazing work she is a super sweet person to sit and get a tattoo from. We have great convos. She seriously turned into my friend. I always hated going in tattoo shops.
