They enjoyed their patients and responded nicely to them. Family were able to ask questions and got responses. This is NOT JUST ONE family with the following. You talk with others while there: The "Social Worker " is not certified from what I was told. Rolando, is USELESS. He says he will help find a place once the patient is leaving. He DID NOT. We had to push, ask questions, meet, etc. NOTHING was really offered. He finally said he had phone numbers to give us. That piece of paper with 10 facilities on it, was USELESS. I found 2 to be possibilities but those didn't pan out. On most, there is no distinction which are rehab, asst living, nursing. WHY THEY HIRE SOMEONE in this position, I do NOT understand. Anyone can hand out a paper or cards and leave if up to the family. He DID NOT make call/connections for us. He did tell us that they have info for those WHO CAN PAY which I figure is probably their 1st or 2nd floor residents. BE CAREFUL as Rolando will have an exit date. IF it is NOT reasonable, speak up. He was going to send MOM home by AMBULANCE as she was not mobile. I asked what we do once she arrives. He then changed the date. She was able to walk with assistance when she left on a later date. So, the patient is treated well, and rehab is good. IF you have lots of money to cover for residence afterwards, it's probably OK. However, there are even NICER places if you search ALDEN, Arbor Terrace in Naperville, Sunrise, some of the Heritage Woods, Asbury Gardens, Victory Center of Bartlett. Research and find one.

Great staff. 5-star health care center. Wonderful home-like environment. Highly recommended.read more

Our family has…read moreexperienced four different communities so far and Silverado is a company that does not only design communities for those with memory care needs, but focuses on overall dementia care. There are over 400 types of dementia and Silverado trains their staff in a way to recognize and support these variances instead of training their team to ONLY manage the needs of those with Alzheimer's disease. This approach takes a lot of stress away from primary care givers and family members. Dementia often comes with personality changes and behavior changes that ultimately lead to family members seeking help. We witness the staff gently redirecting our loved one, treating her with dignity, recognizing and celebrating who she was before the disease and who she is now, stimulating her mentally, and generally providing compassionate and loving care. This has a lot to do with the current administration in place and how strong the Silverado St. Charles care team is. The facility is new, beautiful, all on one floor (makes us feel good in case of emergencies), and a calm and peaceful place. Leadership is responsive and communicative with families and they did a great job of explaining their positions and thought behind COVID19 changes to processes and procedures. We as family members felt part of the solution and part of defining what the new normal is for our loved one. My family and I highly recommend Silverado St. Charles if you are looking for a safe and caring community for your loved one where they are treated with respect and dignified.

Due to the global pandemic, our application and move-in process was complicated and delayed, so our family was very stressed. I cannot say enough positive words about Starr and Vicki. They communicated with me regularly throughout the process to ease my stress and offer comfort. Even now, a few months after Dad's move-in, they still email or text me just to say hello and see how my Dad and the rest of the family is doing. These two women are kind and compassionate, and they truly helped our family through a very difficult time! There were times when I felt discouraged, so I would call Starr because I knew that her positive encouragement would make me feel better. She even called Dad to encourage him when I was worried that he was getting disconsolate. Now Dad is settled in at Victory Centre and he is very happy! He tells me that everyone is so kind and helpful. He says that the food is very good and he is happy with his apartment. He told me that it is perfect for him because he has privacy and independence in his own space, but he feels safe with the regular check-ins. He put it this way: "the staff makes themselves quietly known throughout the day." The staff is kind and they treat the residents with respect. I have been able to relax knowing that his medications are administered on time every day and he is being well cared for. The staff communicated with me regularly about my dad, and I have had wonderful conversations with Lora and others. One last note, we really appreciate that Victory Centre is taking the global pandemic seriously. They are taking every necessary precaution to keep their residents, caregivers, and staff safe! In comparing numbers of cases at local facilities, it is obvious that Victory Centre is taking the right precautions. I miss my Dad, and I wish that I could go and hang out with him in his apartment, but I know that he is in excellent hands! The caregivers and staff at Victory Centre are true heroes and wonderful human beings!

The warmth, concern, heart, and genuine care they feel is palpable throughout. As a result, she and her friends are comfortable, engaged, well-fed, observed by such loving, caring, dedicated nurses and sweet aides, and I have such relief knowing that she is living a life with purpose and activity, and constantly tells me how much she loves it there, and raves about the staff and the residents. Actually, a client of mine told me how much his Mom loved it there years ago, and I thought of that when I first brought her to visit. Best decision ever!! She was very scared, hesitant, but they turned her around gently but quickly and she is back to her fun self again, and it is just wonderful. There are no words for the peace having her there gives me. It's a blessed Victory! When I asked one of her now great friends about his experience living there her first week as a resident he enthusiastically said "best group of people I ever met" - so true. Smiles are all over both staff and residents and I love just being around them, but my Mom is so busy now, I have a hard time finding her when I visit - I love it!! Once again, without mentioning names, if they are employed there, I'm describing each one with this glowing review, and because they mean so much to me, and consider so many dear friends now, I will not leave anyone out, because I will run out of room. Just know this attitude started at the front door on the first day, and never disappointed since. I know she is in good hands, and it means the world to me - and so do they. So grateful and lucky to have Victorius Vicki, their Lovely Chief, beautifully, gracefully, managing this sweet spot - oops, I mentioned a name...

She was dropped off early and picked up after dinner, 18 full days. Kelly, the admissions person was nice and reviews were good so I had high hopes. I am my grandmothers POA and caretaker, so I know how she is. She is very easy to take care of compared to others. I visited her one time at about 2:30pm halfway through her stay- she was laying in bed in soaked diapers, dirty pajamas, her classes and hearing aid were gone. She smelled strong like she needed a shower, and this was only halfway through her respite. No excuse for her to be alone and uncared for in the middle of the day. When it came time to pick her up on her last day, the first thing my grandmother said to me was "PLEASE give me a shower, they haven't bathed me one time!" My grandmother does not like showers- so the fact that she asked me for one says A LOT. She would remember taking one at a new place if she did. Outside of this stay- she went to an adult day group that gives her showers. The first thing she tells me every shower day when I pick her up is- I got a shower. Arden courts tried to tell me that Diane did get showers- but she must of forgot because of dementia. Based off the way she smelled, as well as the HORRIBLE yeast infections she had (under her breast and other places) it was very clear they let her go 18 days without a shower. When I did my tour- I was told that they give 3+ showers a week. She should've been given OVER 6 not 0, that is what I paid for. Arden court lost my grandmothers hearing aid as well, and did nothing to make it right. We had to get a new one and she went weeks without it. A woman named Angie or Angelica works there- she was very rude when I told her my concerns. This woman told me Diane was given 2 showers during her stay, that is no where near enough for 18 days even if true. She ignored my calls and emails, when we did talk she was just not kind and seemed to laugh at me. Last we talked was months ago, she said she would call me back to let me know if they can pay for Diane's hearing aid replacement. I called multiple times and got told I need to wait for a call- which never came. Very unprofessional. When I dropped my grandmother off the first day- the nurse didn't even want to speak with me or take her medicine, she was very annoyed and I had to wait over an hour. Even then she was still confused why I was trying to leave, maybe because I'm paying you guys to take care of her so I can get a break! Very frustrating experience.

My 92-year old mother moved into one of their assisted living studios in the fall of 2014. Up until that point, she had lived on her own, so clearly, she wasn't very enthusiastic about the move. She wasn't as engaged in some of the activities as we might have liked, but it wasn't for lack of the staff's teasing encouragement (which she enjoyed). When her health deteriorated a year or so later, she moved into the more intimate memory care wing in a studio almost identical to the one she'd had, where the staff could keep her under watchful eyes. Before long, a hospice crew became part of her care team. As prickly as my mother could be, she was loved by members of the staff. Several of her caregivers wept the day she died and for me, that said it all. Difficult as it was, we had made the right decision. One other thing worth mentioning: it's not a huge community, so if it's important for your loved one to be in a place where everyone knows everyone else, this is a good choice.

These two women held my hands, dried my tears and help to guide me through this very scary and unfamiliar journey. In early Feb 2019, I was suddenly facing the fact that we need to move a loved one from Texas to Illinois; who was showing advancing signs of memory loss/dementia. Dennis, 72 years old, needed to be in a safe place to live, with doctors and caregivers to watch over him and see that he took his prescribed medicines and was provided 3 good meals every day, which he was no longer able to do on his own. The caregivers at Arden Courts are kind, compassionate and so very patient with these residents who have been diagnosed with this insidious and sad disease. At Arden Courts it really is possible for a person with a diagnosis of dementia to have a good quality of life. Arden Courts lives up to the promises in their brochure by providing structured, daily activities allowing their residents to socialize and interact with other residents and staff, adding to their quality of daily life. The entire staff, especially Pam, Justine and Nurse Nina have given our family total piece of mind 24/7. Their monthly support group offers a wonderful opportunity for family members and caregivers to know that they are not alone in navigating this journey with their loved ones. We continue to be ever grateful that Arden Courts was there in our time of need and we highly recommend this and their sister facilities for anyone needing care for their family members having memory loss/dementia.
