I have a charge point card to find charging stations and charge my EV. When I activated the card, in May, I chose the "pay as you go" option and linked the account with my business credit card. Company pays for auto fuel. In June, the account, unbeknownst to me, switched to "top up". I charged my car May 30 and on June 1 I got a message that said my credit card, linked to my account, had been charged $10, leaving a balance of $5.04. As this is a business credit card, I cannot "top up", it needs to be "pay as you go". I changed my setting back to pay as you go and got a message that it would change in a month. So, I called Charge point. In broken english I was told he could reverse the $5.04 charge; but, that I would have to wait a month for the pay as you go to take effect. If he changed it now, my card would be inactivated and I would need to get a new one. I said I would wait. Then he came back on the line and said the charge had been reversed and my card had been deactivated! Apparently, he meant to say, when he reversed the charge, my charge point card would be automatically deactivated. I now need to start this whole frustrating process over. This is the worst customer service ever. I see that they are about to go out of business according to several business news service. I have used their high speed charger for my BMW for almost 3 years and recently, it stopped charging. Because it is still under warranty, I requested a replacement. I have made 30 phone calls, each time providing more an more information with each call..extending the case each time. Finally, today, they said I need to install an internet connection at the charger for them to diagnos and approve an exchange. They were never going to replace anything, so I am moving on and warning everyone to beware of this company. They will not help you if you have a problem. read more

Have written them through their report a problem app. There are only two high speed Chargers at the location in question in Long beach, California . One of them has been out of service for over 3 months now . Despite having written them many times, and always gotten back a boilerplate response, still no action. Don't buy ChargePoint home chargers. They roped me in and now they don't support app updates. I've got the charger and now my car is not listed in there database which skews the data. I called the help line and they were no help. They said wait for next update. I've been waiting over a year now. I'll buy a different brand next time. read more

Every time I try to use their stations, there's a problem. Today took the cake and ate it too. I plugged into their Downtown Sarasota charger while running into a nearby Whole Foods. Came back 20 minutes later and could not get their charger to disengage. It was locked solid. Tried turning the charger back on and off. Tried lockIng and unlockIng my car. Spent an hour waiting for online tech support. Zero assistance Finally, while waiting for BMW Roadside services, the damm charger made an audible "pop" noise. I really love the ChargePoint app and the chargers. They are so easy to use the reason why I am giving it 1 star and before you consider purchasing them for your own business or home is because when they are broken, you will have to wait months and months before they come out and repair the charger. It is going on six months to repair a broken spring in the handle of one of the dual head chargers here at the City of Menlo Park. The maintenance person at our job says they won't give us a timeline and you just have to wait. That is absolutely ridiculous. Meanwhile, we have another dual head charger that's out That we've been told it could be six months before they repair it. What good are chargers if they are not repaired in a timely manner. Love the charger and app, but disappointed with the service. read more

What an incredibly frustrating experience. Can't log in to the app and consequently can't pair my charger because my assigned password from my cable company has dashes in it. Good luck getting an easy password change from cable companies....how can a company create an app that doesn't accept dashes in a password. Insane....then if you have two separate chargers you can't use the same app you have to create a new email address and link the second charger to another email account.... One question: who is doing the technical design for the CP. Clearly someone without forethought. On a positive note the customer service folks are pleasant, they just can't do anything because the app design is flawed. Buy with caution. read more

How can a business stay in business w/ an aggregate rating of less than 1.5? How many EV drivers have been stranded by these fraudsters? Their stock debuted @ $22/share.....today it = less than $8/share. Tesla's move to make their chargers available to ALL EV's hopefully = the nail in the coffin for this crypto version of EV charging. Using Tesla adapter. Only charging at 6 kw. Will take nearly 3 hours to charge less than 20%. Holiday Inn Cleveland TN is a nice hotel but they say this problem is ongoing. Ridiculous the charging company allows this to go on. I could get faster charging from a wall outlet. read more

I bought a Chargepoint home charger from the Chargepoint website. I never used it and never took it out of its box. I decided I didn't want it and that's when the trouble started. I have spent at least 6 hours over the past month trying to get my refund. First of all it took one week before they would give me the address to return it. Why it is such a secret I'll never understand. It cost $42 to ship back via FedEx on 7/11. CP received it on 7/11. Customer Service was little or no help at all. I made at lease 8 phone calls to them about the refund. $761.21 is a lot of money. I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Finally today, 8/3, I got the refund. Chargepoint is an awful company to do business with and I would do everything I could to discourage people from dealing with them. They do not care at all about their customers. read more

ChargePoint might be easy to find in certain places, but they only have 1 "Fast", which is not fast. They weirdly have only one non Tesla and a Tesla charger. Tesla is everywhere so it is a waste of a cord. You can only charge one car at a time. We have had to wait in line while traveling:( Beware and plans for several extra hours. read more

Not a fan of being charged extra money to use there machines. I manage my own money, A charging station should not be escrowing money for my next charge. Called to get a refund and was told I would have my account closed once refund was processed. I guess I will use friendlier charging company. Stayed overnight in Vestal, NY. Was excited to see car chargers. I had just recently used Chargepoint in Rehobeth Beach with no problems. My car said it would be charged with in 2hrs of plugging in at 11:30pm. The hotel front desk said the the charge was free since I was staying there. Woke to an email saying I was being billed $20. I immediately went to the car at 7:34am only to find that after 7hrs of being plugged in the car was only charged 3%. I unplugged, called and complained and was told I would be refunded my money. At that point they had only charged me $10. An additional $20 charge was then posted the following day after not plugging in to charge again. Charged $30 for only a 3% charge when it should have been free. read more

ChargePoint is one of the worst and possibly the worst company I've dealt with in recent years. From now on, wherever and whenever I have a choice, I would hook my EV up with a Flo charger instead of ChargePoint! I gave them a call 2 days ago disputing a charge for the sessions I had. Due to the delays on the phone line, I sometimes heard her and sometimes did not. Every sentence I spoke, there was at least a 5-second delay before she answered my question and probably vice versa. When she said, "Can you let me respond to your question?" I realized our sentences were overlapping one another because I waited and waited every time until I didn't hear anything on the line before I spoke but our sentences still crossed one another. When she said, "You have talked over me twice..." I said, "Look, there are delays on the line..." Before I could finish my sentence, she hung up. read more

Having a very difficult time with customer service activations on a biz account. There is no phone number to follow up with to follow thru with a service specialist. Only a 1800 #. This system is junk! I have issues every week, sometimes more than 1 in a day! If the stations were well maintained, the system would be OK. But they are not. As they have aged, errors occur and are not corrected. Worse, if there is a cuing system, a bad station does not get removed from the cue. So you end up spending time to move your vehicle to a station only to find it's not working and then you go to the back of the cue.You spend 20 minutes for nothing. You can try to call an operator, but they have no real means to help you and about 80% of the time, you end up wasting more time calling for help. The only perk is that if your employers supports it, the system is free. Frankly, if you drive a Tesla, you waste a lot less time finding a supercharger. read more

Firstly, I have used public chargers on only 5 occasions. So I am not really a pro at using them. But, while I was at a Whole Foods Market, 5280 University Pkwy, Sarasota, FL ,I figured I would use a charger while doing some shopping. Not a good experience. The first charger's screen was so obscure from I assume sun exposure, it was totally illegible. The second charger's screen which faced the opposite direction was somewhat clearer, but had one handle that was broken. I am not sure who is responsible for the repair of these devices-- the property owner, or ChargePoint. But, if someone is low on their charge, and drives out of their way to get a charge, I don't think you should rely on Charge Point Chargers. After reading some reviews from the last few months for this location, the problems with these specific chargers has been going on for far too long. read more

This company uses highly illegal business practices. They have no control over any set rate-this means that whoever sets up the station has no cap on the amount they charge. Once I charged my car for 15 mins and was charged almost $20...charge point said "nothing we can do we don't set fees" the people who do have 0 requirements and can charge ridiculous amounts with no consequences. Chargepoint also has complete access to your bank account and per their terms and conditions can charge for as much as they want...at first it will be $10 at a time. Then $20. Then $50. Then $70. Even if you are using free or home chargers. They will not reverse these charges. Again-theres nothing they can do supposedly. read more

Chargepoint is correctly named...they are there to overcharge money. I hooked up my plug in hybrid which takes less than two hours to charge. Instead of stopping automatically as in the past, it kept...charging money for another 8 hours. They took care of it but who wants to have to hassle with this?
