I want to pay a compliment to chargepoint and their main office is my chargepoint card was not working and I happen to be near the main office so I stopped in there to get a charge and rectify the problem on my chargepoint card. They helped me out to get a charge fixed the chargepoint card problem and also showed me the new chargepoint charging stations as well as the number of them they have available right there at the facility for a fairly reasonable price. Areas of improvement are they cannot tell you any good general pricing they just always say it's up to the landlord in that facility which is not good for the overall industry. read more

charge point was not letting me connect to the Mercedes my connect all as I put in the dealer free charging card first. So I deleted the card to connect first and then add it. After set up when I tried to add the fee Charlie g card it said card once deleted cannot be added. I called charge point and spoke to custimer care as well as supervisor and they said they can't enter and activate the card at all and I need to get a new card from the dealer. I explained that their app never cautioned me before deleting g that i won't be able to add it again but they kept repeating that once card is deleted even if accidentally the charging is lost and cannot be entered again. My new apt community uses Chargepoint. It took months to set up and I know how frustrated my leasing manager was in trying to get us the EV service we needed. We chose the community knowing they will have charging but it took months. Now I share her frustration. The wifi on my specific station went out. All other stations are working, but I cannot use them as they are tied to specific vehicles. I have called customer service twice now, and each time I spoke to a US rep, they basically had a tone in their voice as if I was being a nuisance to them. They simply could not find my station ID, serial #, etc. Once I was transferred to European overflow, but was told they didn't have access to my ticket. So why use overflow? They should staff more appropriately. And for those staff they clearly need more training likely better technology/processes. Some people like to complain about cable companies... it is a running joke. Compared to Chargepoint, the cable companies have STELLAR service. unfortunately I have no choice in the matter at my apt community, but I would definitely not recommend them... read more

Charger said 22 kWh and EV onboard charger supports that - charging was much slower (no other car connected to the charger). Paid per minute, which means high price. Started new charge a few times, but didn't work - still had to pay for all of them. Tried to contact support, but customer service e-mail bounces my e-mail. Support form on their homepage says they might charge me if they decide it's not their problem. All in all: Rotten to the core. I'm never using them again and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. read more

After checking my Paypal account I needed to write this long-overdue review. I have a Tesla for two years now and in 2020 there where few Tesla stations in south Florida so I had to obtain a card from ChargePoint to find available charging stations. At the beginning they were quick to answer and helpful. However, after a few months, I was sent to places where the stations where, either in locked gated communities, otherwise unavailable, or damaged, or being used even though the app said they were available. When you called, they took forever to answer; and finally, I lost the tiny key-change card they give you. I called, I paid $4.95 for a replacement that NEVER arrived. I called again, they apologized, said they would expedite it, it never arrived either. Fed up after a month and a half of this waiting, I called last time to get my money back. THey have NEVER refunded my Paypal and it is now 8 months since then. Fortunately, I had a charging station set in my garage this year and Tesla have a lot more stations where I work, so I no longer need the card and the app. Charge Point is not worth your time and aggravation, specially if you have very little electricity left in your electric vehicle. I will try to mention some ways that Chargepoint could be even better, but without a doubt they are a splendid asset to the very desirable emergence of electric vehicles (EV). I have used Chargepoint to recharge my vehicle in Fremont, Newark, Pleasanton, and Dublin. The charging stations are listed in a near-real-time directory maintained at chargepoint.com and in the Chargepoint Android (and iPhone) apps. You could look up where there are charging stations, what the published pricing is (determined by the individual charging station), and how many of the cables are at this moment sitting in the holster vs. plugged into cars (in other words, how many are now available). I fully understand that Chargepoint can best serve by putting their highest priority onto serving the needs of charging station operators (stores, government entities, hotels, office buildings, commercial enterprises, employers, and so on) instead of serving the needs and desires of drivers of EVs. They do have support services for drivers in their phone app and in their website. You can get a authorization tag (actually a pair of two) for free by registering in their website. You use that at the charging station to identify yourself. The designated pricing is debited to your $25 credit card debit as you conduct charging sessions. Chargepoint also is eager to help drivers create their own charging station, and importantly, to help expand the nationwide array of charging stations. To make Chargepoint even better, I would have their driver support folks realize that most drivers are trying to be excellent citizens and that it is not always convenient to understand exactly what underlies whatever support concern, question, or complaint has come in to Chargepoint. I understand when they cannot handle my every question fully. One item that I am still researching is what it means for subsequent hours of charging to be priced on a time basis as $X/hour. For example, it has been 1st hour free and a whopping $5 per hour for some subsequent hours at the Safeway store on Bernal Ave. in Pleasanton, CA. Someday I will stay 10 minutes over an hour to find out, or maybe I can discuss it with the store management. At some other locations, the per hour pricing is definitely pro-rated; in other words an hour and 10 minutes will cost you the first hour fee plus (10/60) of the second hour fee. Another item is that some Chargepoint stations are downright close to impossible to read in the sun and when messied up by the previous thousand users. The chargers at Antec, for example, in far south Fremont have a much more readable display. That of course, however, is a matter of display cost and a decision undoubtedly made by the particular charging station operator. I hope that we all can make EVs and especially their charging stations fit together economically in a way that benefits station owners and drivers both. Chargepoint deserves to grow into a lucrative franchise which dominates a large industrial niche. I do a lot of my EV charging at home, but I do want to see a wider availability of places to stop when away from my home base. My vehicle, not so incidentally, is a Prius Plug-In which has only 16.1 EV miles when fully charged. Yet, that allows me to drive most of its miles as an EV instead of as a Hybrid Vehicle. Some of the places where I charge are stores which have the first one or even two hours free charging. I am interested to see the economics fit together. Every ChargePoint claims to have up to 62.5kW on their fast chargers, but the reality is, you get maybe 50 for a minute, then 40 for a minute, then 30...until it settles on the mid 20s...for anyone wondering what 20kW charging speed is...it's not fast. I have been using the charging stations they made available at their corporate HQ since 2011. Initially, they used to be pretty expensive, particularly when used to charge a 2011 LEAF with a 3kW onboard charger. They changed their pricing recently, and the per-kWh fee structure with a small per-hour charge is much more palatable. I have been using their networked charging stations elsewhere since 2011 as well, and would give a 5-star review, but I found their phone support to be lacking. They tried different things, including outsourcing, but in my experience phone support is the one thing ChargePoint could improve. Wow, first time using ChargePoint and what a cluster compared to EVGO. On hold for 15 minutes because the station I was trying to use in Grand Lake Colorado said "unavailable" and then their app wouldn't take any of the three credit cards I entered. The out-of-country customer service agent wouldn't let me get a word in and repeatedly talked over me saying it was a problem with my cards (which it wasn't) and then told me I had to open a browser to enter my card information (yeah, but it was an issue with my cards, right? ). How insulting. Why would I want to use a service from a company whose customer service agents treat people like that? The customer service literally couldn't have been worse. It ranks up there with Comcast. Hey executives, there's a cost for everything and outsourcing your customer service to India or Bangladesh says everything about your commitment (or lack thereof) to your customers. I rely on our local garage that has a Chargepoint station that is now inoperative. I contacted CP through the telephone number and got completely useless information. I was told it would be 3-4 weeks for a reply. Now remind you, this is like the only gas station in the area not letting you know when they will have gas for you. The garage management company had the issue in for weeks and has not heard anything from CP either. Their customer support is horrible. They should not receive any government grants unless they improve their customer service. I will be writing my congresswoman about this. read more

Won't stand behind their charging stations. Had a charging session in Everett, WA where about 20 minutes into what was supposed to be a 60 minute charge, it just stopped, but failed to ping me the notification and began to charge me parking fees. When I arrived back at the 50 minute mark and discovered this I was forced to restart the charger. Wound up paying $9 for parking -- far more than the electricity cost. Yet, when I tried to get the parking charges reversed, just got complete runaround. "Yes, our name is on the charger, and it's our App charging you, but it's the owner of the property in question that you have to talk to." Yet, despite requests, won't give me contact info. As a powersports sales business we have two charge point stations located in our parking lot. Chargepoint charges us $1400 per year for "cloud Fee ." The highest monthly income we have had grossed $14 . I have called and Emailed several times to ask if they have any suggestions, maybe turn off one station or change the cloud provider ? I think this is my first negative review on yelp (or anywhere) but I feel compelled to submit a negative review on Chargepointe to hopefully save someone else from the extreme frustration and potential danger caused by relying on their chargers. I am a 64 year old woman; I just returned from a 2200 mile solo round trip. EXCEPT for Chargepoint all my charging was smooth and uncomplicated (Electrify America, EV Go and Greelots). I had my plan routed to land at charging stations with juice to spare. After 632 miles, I deliberately scheduled my first night at a hotel (Best Western in Red Bluff, CA) that had three 150-350 CSS/Chademo chargers. Plus a L-2 j1772. After a 15 hour day, exhausted, hungry, dark at night I pulled in and attempted to connect. NOT ONE of the chargers worked. I called Chargepointe and the ill-trained representative wasted 30 minutes of my time going through the motions of attempting to initiate charging. He finally said, "I don't know why they don't work." Even the L-2 was broken and unresponsive. I said, what should I do? He had no answer; didn't know didn't care. I drove to another station the hotel clerk found (with one L-2) hoping to get enough charge to make it safely to the next town in the morning. I drove through dark parking lots and felt vulnerable, afraid and threatened - no charger to be found. My only option was to spend a sleepless night and wait til morning. In the morning I limped into an Electrify America (felt like a beacon of light!) which operated perfectly. However, instead of getting a fresh start in the morning with a full battery, I was nearly depleted and had to spend 90+ minutes charging before taking off. GM has requested Bolt owners not operate below a range of 70 miles while they're figuring out the battery fires - but thanks to my reliance on Chargepoint I had to drain to 27. So, I was at high risk for spontaneous combustion. That concern and the almost two hour delayed start ruined the second day of the trip for me. You know how it goes on a long trip, a two hour late start is disheartening. Other than Chargepoint, all stations were reliable. After returning home, I saw on my account that Chargepoint charged me 25 cents for my evening of frustration and despair!! I just spent 43 minutes, mostly on hold, getting a refund and transferring a remaining balance back to my credit card and, most importantly, closing my account. I will always go out of my way to avoid Chargepoint - in any circumstance. And, I recommend to every EV driver to do the same. They will leave you in the dark; vulnerable and alone. To date I have parked at 4 different ChargePoint charging stations. Not one of them has worked. After some time on hold I was able to get support for the particular stations. Of the 4 , they were able to get me charging one time. All of the others needed to "create a ticket". I just want to be able to pull up, scan the app and start charging. Stations always break when chargepoint takes over. No customer service unless for basic things

It's clearly difficult to care about customers if you are the one major company placing charging stations out there for multiple business. Chargepoint is completely lacking in customer service. They do not refund you for charges that their systems have mistakenly charged due to system error or if you had parked there without utilizing any energy. I have called customer service and they report that there is nothing they can do and the "extra" charges were for parking, even if this was not clearly indicated at the station or indicated in the app. If you park at a system they will charge you for parking even if you are fully charged and NO energy is flowing to your car. They are a disgrace to the EV community. They also automatically charge you a minimum of $25 credit when your account is running low or when you sign up. I have cancelled my account. We need to support other companies so chargepoint can improve their service, technology, and their app. It is too easy for them to make money and provide terrible service. read more

I deeply regret having to write this review. Charge point provides good technology but non-existent customer service. This is not a good direction to promote green tech and protect the environment. I have a Prius Plug-in, and it takes about an hour and 10 minutes to fully charge. When the car is fully charged the indicator light goes off. I unplug the cord and put it back into the charging station, the time is 6:10pm. I drive away. I get a text message on my phone that my car is now fully charged (I'm 20 minutes away from the station). I go to the app and stop the charge. My account gets charged for an hour and 30 minutes of charging time, including the last 20 minutes when my car is physically away from the station. This has happened many times. I have requested a refund for the over charges on my account by phone and by email with no positive response. I have to stop using the charging station because it's simply too frustrating to deal with the app and ChargePoint Support. It's a disgrace for the technology. read more

Use them in office and installed a home station. Absolutely love it. Their app is a bit glitchy and the experience at office station is a bit odd initially. But once you get used to it, just enjoy it. Talked to their tech support twice due to a fault on my home station. Their staff was patient and extremely courteous. Turned out there was an issue with my 220 V plug, electrician fixed it and all worked just perfect. The home app is mind numbingly easy and intuitive. read more
