I decided to look into other options and did a search for places I could pay out of pocket. When I lived in Mexico, I had been using the services at a local hospital, paying a monthly membership fee for their services so imagine my surprise when I found out that the exact same system existed here. That was when I found Dr. Marisse so I booked an appointment. I found her originally on Zocdoc and the nearest appointment was in a month and a half. Within a day of making the appointment, I was called by the office to Nurse Shawna who wanted to make sure that I knew that all appointments needed a preliminary chat with the Doc, after which I could book my appointment. thanked me for letting her know that the next available appointment was that far away. It turned out there was a mix-up and that she did have more immediate appointments available. There is plenty of parking, as it is in shared parking lot with other businesses. However, there are two buildings with the same building number but with different locale numbers. Upper Echelon is in the building nearest to the AAA and the Farmer Boys. At the appointment, everything was clearly explained and we went over a sort of plan of attack, with regards to my concerns and what I needed to do. I appreciated paying less per month for the membership, which includes as many appointments as you want. The lab work and the tests are at wholesale prices so even with the membership fee and registration, all of this was cheaper than the plan I was going to get with insurance. What I appreciated was the quickness of getting an appointment. I have always hated waiting a few weeks, as a new patient, before actually being seen but I was able to book this within a week of the appointment. It was a week because their availability interfered with my work hours. Otherwise, I would have been seen earlier. All in all, it is pretty convenient and a wallet-friendly option. After that first appointment and the lab results came in, Dr. Marisse wrote a VERY long email detailing every point of concern. Which I appreciated because I went for answers and I was getting them. If you need a straightforward person to tell you what you need to be doing and not someone who has to be on your ass every step of the way, this is the ideal option. I would say the ONLY con is that they do not have appointments during the weekends. And since I work during the week, I have to take time off to go to an appointment.

I went in hoping to find a good injection doc for chronic back and neck pain and left in tears after 4 visits. During the last visit, he burst into the exam room and said " so you didn't finish your meds, huh?" I told him I had to stop steroids on day 5 because I had a bad reaction. I continued to ask him questions and explain how my pain had predictably come back. He then spent the rest of the visit yelling at me and interrupting every sentence. I barely got to finish any sentence I began. He said he had already explained that I didn't have pinched nerves ( which conflicted with my MRI report) I broke down in tears, but that didn't stop the yelling. He just started talking directly to my husband. My husband was shocked at his behavior. He did give me injection options and sent us home with literature - but honestly I never want to be in the same room as this man again My husband and I have no clue what I did to set him off. Since it is newer, everything is modern, clean, and bright. However, I felt like I was a little pressured into getting PRP done, and I overheard that this clinic mostly only does injections. You can get appointments right away, but only do it if you know what you have. I scheduled a wellness exam and they tried to charge a co-pay. When I called them out, they did waive the fee and asked me to look for another doctor instead of acknowledging their mistake. I am not someone that comes to the doctors that often and this is obviously discouraging and adds to the mistrust of doctors.
