Never a dull item from this place. Cashiers are all quite great once they know you well. At this point the kitchen starts making my food when they see me walk in. Very inviting environment. I was in the area and I was interested in supporting a local business. I'm glad I found this place, I've never heard of it but it's definitely more than your normal hot dog joint. This place has so much on their menu you can literally have something new every day for the next 3 months. I love that they have diner when you enter. It's a small place but the staff here is definitely friendly. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it. To keep to the Chicago name, I'm happy this place sells green river! I do not realize how there is ANY positive reviews after eating the gyros they make. The chicken gyro meat is actually packaged slices of meat they throw on the grill and the honey mustard sauce is disgusting. looks like vasalline or mayo mixed with mustard and sugar. YUK YUK YUK. i threw out most of it. My dog would not even eat it. Also usually when you purchase a gyro dinner it comes with lots of pit and lots of meat. Not these. And the steak fries were like eating sponges filled with grease. I would have posted pics but was unable to. I advise to go down the street to Mickeys. Much better food. What a great place to get a good fast meal!! I eat here 1-2x a week and I like to try different things - one time, I'll get the 2 Hot Dog special; the next, a Gyros and fries. No matter what I order, the food is always hot (the fries are delicious!!) Was told by my wife that Doggie Diner, there are two, in Bolingbrook and Plainfield, has a bbq rib sandwich. I had been lamenting the limited time of another rib sandwich, but no more. Doggie Diner has a rib sandwich available year round. It is bigger, meatier, with the same pickles and onions, but the Sweet Baby Rays sauce puts it over the top. Did I say huge? Big enough for two. First visit today, I had the gyro platter. The gyro meat was delicious but it seemed like it was chopped into bits. (could have been a bit more generous with the meat...it was good.) Fries were kind of hard. Dining area is cold and uncomfortable. It does have a small tv with no sound. I love this little place. I've picked up gyros several times in the past. The gyros plate comes with extra meat and fries. I add an extra pita and sauce and get two meals out of it. Their tzatziki sauce is perfect; there are a couple places in the area who have nasty tzatziki sauce and that kills the whole gyros. On Saturday they have a hot dog special so I tried their hot dogs last night. They are delicious and have that casing SNAP that you want in a Chicago hot dog. The hot dog was way more satisfying than Portillo's hot dogs. Their menu is humongous! Now that I've branched our from the gyros, I want to try other menu items. Italian beef will probably be next and if it's as good as the other items I've tried, their will be no reason to go to Portillo's ever again. The menu is unbelievably massive for such a tiny carryout joint. It includes, but is not limited to: Italian Beef, sausage(brats, Italian, and Polish), hot dogs, hamburgers, gyros, chicken sandwiches, subs, pizza puffs, ribs, tamale boats, chili dogs, and a ton more. I love the gyro, and one day a week , they have a 2/$8 special that comes with two gyros, fries, and drinks. Their fries are super stick thin and crispy. Pizza puffs are the frozen variety, but taste really good coming out of the deep fryer. Service is counter-style, and the guys behind the counter are funny and engaging. I think I can say that I have sampled damn near everything on their menu from the time I was a sophomore in high school (2002) until now. Between my orders, sharing side orders with friends, family functions, and late night dinners - their food has NEVER been bad. Don't you dare go there without trying the French fries! My personal favorite is the grilled chicken on pita with mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato and their infamous honey mustard! I ordered the Cheeseburger and a friend ordered a hotdog. The cheeseburger did not have a typical taste. Typically a cheeseburger will attempt to fill me up. This one tasted more like a veggie burger, very light, little flavor, and not filling at all. The hotdog also did not taste typical. It was undercooked, and left you wondering what was in it - pork, beef, or what? I've had doggie diner at other locations before and I don't recall it being this bad. Unfortunately I received a regular Philly cheese steak but paid extra for the extra cheese. I frequent this place quite a bit so I called. This place is awesome. I never really cared for the one on Janes Avenue in Woodridge but I have lived in Bolingbrook for about 6 months now and just tried it the other night. Not sure of the gentlemen at the front taking orders but he was so friendly and funny. Great guy... as I waited for my take out food he offered for me to try there homemade meatballs. They were sooo good! Filled with flavor and rosemary. Mmm so tasty. The food was delicious and the guy working in the front was awesome. Very funny, super nice and the food was a very tasty! This is the second Doggie Diner. The first one is in Woodridge, and I've been a fan since I was a kid. This is my go-to place. Don't get me wrong, they're not going to win any awards for fine cuisine any time soon, but if you're looking for a meal that can fit in a brown paper bag with a little bit of grease, then this is the place. The menu is huge. You can get hot dogs, hamburger, subs, gyros, meatball subs, philly cheese steaks and many other sandwiches here. They have a bunch of different fried potato options like french fries, steak fries, greek fries, etc. Even their salads are pretty good. So far... I hold the Doggie Diner Too's gyro up as the example I rate all others against. I have yet to find a better gyro in this area. We get the gyro platter... it is so large, that I usually get an extra pita or two and extra cucumber sauce and make 2 gyros out of the platter. I love this place. The staff is friendly and courteous. LOL.. they had a hand written sign that said something like this: "If your pants are hanging down to your knees, you will not be served". This place is what I might call a "hole in the wall" type of place.. there are a few tables inside... I have always been able to get a table when I have went Highly recommend. read more

This was one of the best burgers I have had in a while. I went for the double cheeseburger with everything. It was dripping all over and delicious. Perfect for a hangover.
