    Large Buffalo chicken
    Taz D.

Hubs and I stopped into Travis AFB for a quick bite to eat on 12/18/21. We hadn't been to this bases in awhile; so it was really nice to bring back some memories. We had a large buffalo chicken with fries and a drink, which we both shared. I'm always really careful about my allergies and cross contamination; and while the person at the register blowed us off, my husband was right there letting the cooks know and watch them be careful. Overall, minus the experience with the attitude of the person at the register, everyone else was up for the challenge. Overall, just watch your food if you are concerned with allergies; and they will take really good care of your food!!

    Menu

This may not be a clone of the original Philly Cheesesteak, however if you're hungry, the ingredients are fresher than most fast food places, made to order, and the staff is friendly. The best thing in the menu are the "Gourmet Fries" with jalapeño peppers. And I'm a person who never likes fries with stuff on it because I'd rather have crispy fries. In this case the blend of ranch, bacon, cheese, and jalapeños is a magic combination. The staff is friendly. All in all it's a decent meal. A bit over priced but I suppose fresh food made to order with friendly staff makes up for the cost in this case. This is excellent. Better than the sandwich.

    Chicken Teriyaki sandwich was delicious!

We were in Downtown Vacaville for an event that ended at 8pm and resorted to Yelp for place to eat…read more Falafel & Gyro was still open, just over a mile away; and with a 4.8 Yelp rating, this place intrigued me even more. It was a 5 minute drive, located in a small shopping center. The left side of the store is facing the parking lot while the entrance is on other side. Plenty of parking. We were welcomed by the owner, Safi. Everything on their menu was reasonably priced. I initially ordered the Combo Plate and lamb & beef Gyro; then after I paid, I saw the Philly Cheesesteak and had a craving for that instead. I asked if I could still change my order and pay the difference in cash, Safi changed my order and told me not to worry about the difference. We dined in, a few minutes later our food came with generous portions and absolutely delicious! We were also given orange slices and complimentary baklava. The baklava was so flaky and not soaked in syrup which, I like. I asked if they make their own baklava and was told that it's ordered from Sacramento to support another local business! Thank you Yelp Fam for the recommendation! I too recommend this place if ever in Vacaville.

And delicious, I would definitely get it again. My companion got a falafel gyro, she said it was perfect. The falafel patties are flavorful and not dry, which is sometimes the issue with falafel. The restaurant is comfy, with the cleanest quick-food bathroom I've seen in a LONG time. It was very quiet at 2pm on a Friday. Our food was cooked to order, so it tasted fresh and was hot. We split a piece of baklava. I didn't think I like baklava, based of all of my previous experiences with it. I stand corrected! I'm tempted to stop and get more to take home when we drive back through Vacaville.

Ribs and chicken were falling off the bone, brisket had a nice little chew, and the hot link was a lil spicyyyy. I was so full half way through! And the sides: mac n cheese, collard greens and potato salad were seasoned nicely. The chicken Philly cheese steak was bomb.com! The bread was soft, chicken seasoned mix and everything paired nicely. Not to mention the amount of French fries! My husband could only eat half! To top it all off, we got home and found that they gave us a butter cake and OMG, my husband and I were fighting over it. Most def need to order more next time. I look forward to trying the cheesy grits and shrimp and the fish and chips next time! The fish and chips sold out right before we called. The sauces are the only thing I would caution spicy eaters from. They weren't spicy at all but the flavor was still good.

I stopped by 1933 Kitchen & Bar for lunch because I saw they had a chicken Philly on the menu,…read morewhich can be surprisingly hard to find since most places only offer the traditional beef version. I ordered the chicken Philly and specifically asked for no mayo, which was also noted on my receipt. I also asked for jalapeños because the menu listed "hot and sweet peppers," but the server said those were more like bell peppers. The fresh jalapeños ended up being an extra $1.50. Unfortunately, the sandwich arrived with mayo on both sides of the bread. I was already very hungry and getting a headache, so instead of sending it back and waiting again, I tried scraping most of it off. Even after that, the sandwich was still very heavy. There was also a lot of melted cheese that tasted closer to an American or Cheez-Whiz style cheese rather than something milder like provolone or Swiss, which made the sandwich very wet and overly rich. I ended up eating less than half of the sandwich before giving up on it. The garlic fries were decent, though they were very thin shoestring fries and the portion looked larger than it actually was because they were spread out across the tray. The pickle on the side was very soft and soggy and had an unusual mix of dill and sweet flavors, so I only took one bite. To the server's credit, when she saw that I wasn't taking the sandwich to go and mentioned the mayo issue, she gave me 20% off the bill, which I appreciated. However, since more than half of the sandwich went uneaten due to the mistake, a larger adjustment might have felt more appropriate. Overall, the experience was pretty average ("meh"), and while the staff was polite, the food itself didn't live up to expectations. I probably wouldn't return on my own.
