While the food is usually good, or at least filling, the service is completely and utterly useless. The workers almost never speak english, and don't understand what anyone says. Unfortunately, most of the employees here are unable to do their job adequately--that includes serving the entirety of your food at a single time, or being able to effectively perform tasks. For an establishment to have as many workers as it does, most of them are on their phones, or forget what they're doing, and burn meat. In addition to skipping numbers in line, and letting others have their food in chronological order, these workers will do the easiest order, and give pieces of your order at different times. The environment is obviously prison courtyard because it's in a mall, and it feels claustrophobic and unsafe. If you get food delivered or pick-up, it might not be that bad. read more

My son wanted to try a Philly cheesesteak here, I ordered a strawberry lemonade and cheesesteak. We sat down and as he was drinking his lemonade he gets a fruit fly in his mouth. We open the drink and it has several large fruit flies in it. Absolutely disgusting! We give the drink back and ask for our money back for the food, we didn't want to eat or drink there after that. I'm going to file a report to hopefully get some health inspectors in there because this was completely unacceptable and it makes my stomach turn knowing my son drank that drink with fruit flies in it. I understand they are busy with only a few people working so I didn't mind the wait, but when I showed the cook that my bacon wasn't cooked she said " it is cooked all the way, that's the color of our bacon" I said that's not the color of cooked bacon she said that's the color of our bacon and left it at that. First of all, their combo deal is very confusing and tricky.. they put combo deal for $4.25 and another price under $5 with a picture of a drink, sandwich and fries.. If you compare it with other food joints, you'll think that the price tag beside it consists of that particular food.. So when we ordered our combo, she billed us almost $20.00 so we asked about the "confusing deal" and the cashier explained.. So indeed we changed our order to gourmet fries and the lemonade.. Peach and strawberry lemonade may not be par excellance but it was fine considering the thirst we were feeling that time.. The gourmet fries however (ultimate and bacon and cheese) wasn't what we expected of how they presented it on the picture.. Total fail.. Potatoes were hard and overfried..melted cheese was dry and did not entirely cover the potatoes.. Now, it's time to rate the customer service.. It was poor.. There was already a LONG line and the cooks were prioritizing the "sandwich" orders and not according to the sequence on who ordered first.. Person ahead of me ordered exactly the same order for his family yet the presentation was so different.. Waiting time for the gourmet fries was 15 minutes with overcooked and burned dry fries.. Cooks were not into their job, looks like they were just there to get their pay check but not serve their customers properly... They were talking to each other and laughing instead of making sure everything was correct. I went here a few days ago with my husband and it was okay. We didn't have to wait in line to order, but the wait to get the food was about 15 minutes. Being that Charleys is in the mall I expected it to be a bit faster service. Yes 15 minutes is not that long, but like I said with other fast food places in the mall you get your food almost right away or within minutes. I got the philly cheesesteak sandwich with ultimate fries and my husband got the ultimate club with regular fries. He said his sandwich and fries were okay but nothing special. Curiously enough, not a coincidence that the vast majority of reviews has to do with staffing, wait time and overall service. I came here on a Saturday afternoon around 3PM. Ordered 2 cheesesteaks, an order of fries, and two drinks to go. Killed some time on my phone for about 15 minutes and came to the realization they were two orders away from calling me out. Then they called the number after me, and then another two numbers after me. After checking in with the gal who was calling the orders out, turns out they forgot my order somehow. No worries. They throw more cheesesteaks on the grill and some fries in the fryer. They call 24, 25, 26, and then 27. (I'm #20 btw) I go up and yet AGAIN, they've forgotten my order. We're pushing 40 minutes now, I'm getting hangry. The clerk who took my order was the one who was doing the cooking. There was one worker putting together orders while 2-3 others were just seemingly standing around. After FINALLY getting my cheesesteak order, I had to remind them I had drinks as well. This may well be the worst food we've eaten in the last couple of years. We were in a hurry, so we stopped by the food court at the mall. I've always like cheese steak sandwiches, so when we saw Charleys we decided to try it. We both ordered the Bacon 3 Cheese Steak sandwich with no onions. My son ordered a coke with no ice and I asked for one with ice. The worker filled my son's cup with ice and we had to ask him to correct it. We watched as he cooked the meat on the grill and added onions. He used only one type of cheese and did not add the bacon. He had to remake the order. When he finished the remake, I asked for jalopeños. He said ok, but when I got it, it had none. We also ordered the Bacon cheese fries. The cheese sauce was terrible, it's only flavor being salt! This meal for 2 people cost over $27. With the tiny amount of meat, the incompentence of the staff, and the poor quality of the food, it qualifies as the worst food we've had over the last few years. Tell everyone you know to avoid this dump. If you hear of a friend or family member thinking of eating here, stop them! Friends don't let friends eat crappy food! I had a rather poor experience here today that I wished to share with the company through their website but that's not going to happen. As a result of the flawed customer contact form on their website, this complaint will be posted here for everyone to see. I placed an order today and paid with my debit card. After I payed I did not receive a receipt. I asked for a receipt and was told "it's broken" pointing at the receipt printer. I was confused and angry. I like to have a record of all my debit purchases and this is the first time ever I was told I cannot have a receipt. I'm no lawyer, but how is it even possible or legal to run a business without giving the customer a receipt? In this case, had there been some sign or indicator that receipts will not be given I would have just paid in cash - but no. They didn't tell me until after they swiped my card and charged me. Whoever owns or runs this business really needs to go get that place up to business standard. What's worse I went to the website to "tell charley" and I cannot even issue a statement without providing a whole form of information, that is on the receipt! Well if I had a receipt I could do those things but that is the entire issue! I DID NOT RECEIVE A RECEIPT. I CANNOT PROVIDE STORE NUMBERS AND DATES ON THE RECEIPT BECAUSE YOUR FUCKING MACHINE IS "BROKEN" AND SO IS YOUR SHITTY PROCESS OF CUSTOMER CONTACT. Since I'm already here, to note. The ketchup dispenser seems to always be empty. Often there will be 1 person doing everything with a huge line and customers end up going to other nearby restaurants. This place needs some serious organizing because it feels like a dying business with all of these issues. The food is ok but I will never come back here.
