I used to like these steak sandwiches very much but now they're not the same. The presentation looks great. Everything looks good and delicious but once you taste the meat, it's very bland like there's no seasoning whatsoever! What a great disappointment to buy a couple meals at $45 and it taste like crap! We ate at the one in the Victor Valley mall at about 7pm last night. I had a chicken cheese steak - the sandwich tasted fine except they gave it to me on paper only. No tray and no plate, which made it very difficult to eat. My husband had the one that was just the steak and Cheez Wiz sauce. There was barely any Wiz sauce, but the bigger issue is that he has now been up for hours vomiting. He was not feeling ill before and we ate nothing after having dinner at Charleys, so we know for a fact he got food poisoning from this restaurant. I am feeling fine, so it would seem there is something seriously wrong with either the meat or the cheese sauce, so I definitely cannot recommend eating here! Seriously he is so sick he can't even keep down water or Pepto Bismol and I'm debating taking him to the ER because I'm worried he'll get too dehydrated. When they open I'm going to try calling the restaurant and letting them know there is a problem so they can get rid of the bad food and hopefully keep someone else from getting sick. Looking at the choices and the size of the lines at each, I chose Charley's for something different. The set up is much like a Subway. Order the kind of Philly style steak sandwich you want--chicken or steak. While the crew is frying your choice, another person gives you fries and asks what you want on your sandwich. My husband and I went to the new Charleys on bear valley next to in N out after waiting weeks for the craving we are seriously disappointed he got the old fashioned Philly which has barely any meat (no flavor) and barely any WIZ which is why they recommend that sandwich (for the extra sauce) and I got the chicken Philly which also had no flavor and was soo dry and we shared a fries which they should not serve in a cardboard box ‍ it was soggy and falling apart from the cheese WiZ. Pretty disappointed. I've never had bad service here before however I was refused service because they were "too busy" and they had two people on break at the same time. Common sense would tell you not to have more then one person on break. Also there was only 4 orders on there screen. Soft and fresh but not the roll of substance (not talking about too much bread) as the real deals from back east. I went to the mall with my son yesterday (12/13/18) and your lovely lady employee who was handing out samples (around 1 maybe 2) helped me carry my tray of food to a table while I pushed my son in his stroller. I've eaten here about 4/5 times now and it's seriously my favorite place to go. At first I didn't think it was all that, but after trying it again I can't stop eating here. I drive all the way down to the mall JUST to eat here. You always get fresh food for cheap. I've never been disappointed each time I've come here. All of the phillys I've eaten are delicious.
