I always get reliable and fast service from Charley's. My only complaint was one time the guy didn't have the address from me yet and he started driving in the opposite direction I was going, and by the time I gave him the address we were on a long route to my place. Yet I got charged extra. So they need to make sure they go the right way. Really need to work on customer service when it comes to some of the drivers. Not all of them are very friendly & their promise of timing when it comes to the dispatchers isn't really good. "Just about a 15-20 min wait..." LIARS! It all depends on who's in the area at that time & if the driver "WANTS" to pick you up from whichever location you're at. That's unacceptable! Sneaky... I had no choice but to use their taxi because the hotel I stayed at uses them (Pacific Baech Hotel). Before I got the cab, bell desk told me it's $29 flat from hotel to HNL airport. But the cab driver who was so unfriendly.... And my hubby ended up carrying all 4 luggage from the trunk.... He tried to charge us $48 without knowing we already knew about the flat fee. read more

I have spent literally over a thousand dollars with this company in the last year. Up until today everything was lovely. I travel 200+ days out of the year and Charlie's has always given me a flat rate for pickup/drop off from downtown to/from the airport. Keep in mind the rate from the airport to Waikiki is 29$ Downtown being much closer I always had a rate of 25$. Plus I am a very generous tipper, having a background in the service industry. Any how I call today and get a very rude operator. After explaining for about 15 minutes how I am alway quoted this price for this service he deems it necessary to transfer me to his supervisor. I wait patiently for 5 minutes only to be hung up on. I call back and get the same operator and i ask if he just hung up on me. His reply is "no, let me transfer you to our supervisor" Same person, same voice how else would he know to transfer me directly to the supervisor without me saying anything but "did you hang up on me"? Anyhow, at this point I am transferred to very rude (how did he ever get promoted to supervisor) attitude. I then proceed to explain to him that i alway receive this rate. He can check my phone number and see the history. I also point out the fact downtown is closer than Waikiki and the rate is 29$ A mere 4$ difference (I tip minimum 5$) He refuses to verify my history and never Identifying himself at this point I ask for his name. He give me his name and when I ask how to spell it he just hangs up. His name is Timlay or Tamlay or something along those lines as I was left with a dial tone. Oh and just a side not.. My last pickup and drop off i was charged twice but I never called and disputed it because I was such a loyal Charlie's customer! Never again! Just as much as I travel I have clients fly in and I always recommend Charlie's. Learned a few visits back NOT to make reservations with this organization. They screwed up our airport pick up, no shows on two separate occasions. The expensive "limo" we ordered for our girls' first trip to Hawaii had ripped up seats, the floor mats were grimy and it stunk like wild animals lived in it. To make matters worse, I am pretty sure something from the transmission or back end was dragging on the ground. read more

I booked the service the day before at 8am, which is more than 24 hours before my pick-up time. They didn't show up at 11:50am the next day, and when I called, they didn't even apologize for the no-show. The cab arrived 5 minutes afterwards, about 20 minutes after the original scheduled time. The cab driver did not charge the $29 flat fee. He claimed it is $29 + tax, working out to be $34. We used the two other services in the yelp list (second and third on the yelp list) and no other place asked for "extra tax" on top. Go with the other guys. What's the point of calling a taxi service if they fail to show up!? My husband and I finished eating at a restaurant late at night in Honolulu. We've tried to stop several taxi cabs, but were unable to. After 3 taxi cabs passing us by, we searched the internet and found Charley's Taxi. Given them a call and a nice man answered. Told him of our location and he said that he would be there in 15 minutes. 20 minutes later, still no cab. Tried call them again, but no answer. We decided to give him more time just in case the driver couldn't find our location. 15 minutes later (35 minutes in total) and 5 other taxi cabs (4 Pony Taxis and 1 Johnny Cab), we decided to leave. We actually walked to our hotel. What a waste of time! From now on, we'll probably call Pony Taxi or Uber. read more

I ordered Charley's taxi service to pick up my daughter and son-in-law at the airport and drive them to their hotel in Waikiki. The person I made the reservations with (Debra) online was very nice and very quick to respond to my email. She even upgraded them to the terminal pick up at no extra charge. On the day they went their flight ran over an hour late. I emailed Charley's taxi to let them know and was emailed right back by Christine who told me "We track all the flights. Don't you worry we'll take good care of the newlyweds." And that is exactly what they did. Met them at the terminal with a welcome sign, lei'd them (haa haa) and whisked them off to their hotel in a beautiful car. I am extremely satisfied with their service and recommended them highly. I've used Charley's three or four times in the past few years for trips to the airport. Based on those experiences, I would happily choose Charley's over other taxi companies. Ride from Waikiki to Pearl Harbor, I go to pay with my credit card and the driver says his machine is broken. Charges me to drive 10min to an ATM to get cash then back to where I wanted to go. From what I've read online I'm not the only one this happens to. This place is a scam, wish the state would look into them. read more

The driver, Kassim Hassan, was very nice, however, there is a beeping noise going off every second!! Kassim said he couldn't turn it off, that it was because of the camera the company installed. Airport to Waikiki is $29 for a car load of passengers, clean van, good neat driver. Very safe and also has a camera in van for safety purposes. They credit cards too. They came to the airport within 5 minutes of a call, can't ask for anything better. read more

Although we only tried to use them once, it was not a good experience. In fact, after driving by us three times and me running him down at a light, and asking if he was looking for me as a fare, and turning back to the road and ignoring me, we never actually were able to use Charley's. Staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village it is advertised as a flat rate $29 to airport. When we arrived the driver charged me about $45. I pointed out that the Hilton said its a flat rate and he said that he could have charged that had I told him at the beginning and couldn't change it now. That's ridiculous. I felt pretty scammed and ripped off. Driver was friendly during the drive and car was clean, but that left a bad taste. Would have been better scheduling the shuttle for $16 but night before it was booked around by checkout time. Lesson learned: schedule the shuttle well in advance, or if you use the taxi, confirm the rate before you get in. read more
