I kept hearing really amazing things about the salads at Charlie's on Main so since I'm trying to eat healthier I decided to visit and try one. I ordered online and it was ready before the expected time which was nice. I'm sorry to say the salad just wasn't that special. I ordered the Greek salad (with extra feta) and steak tips with the balsamic dressing on the side. With tip, it was kind of expensive for the size. It was mainly lettuce which is so boring. There were 4 cherry tomatoes and 2 slices of cucumber, plus some carrots, an olive and a really large green pepper. I like more variety in my salads. The balsamic dressing was not very good so I'm glad I got it on the side. The steak tips were very good though. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, very tender and tasty. I feel like I could get this same salad at any sub or pizza place in town and a lot better salad at a place like sweetgreens. All in all, it was okay but not worth the price and very boring so I doubt I'll be back. read more

I got the apple strawberry walnut salad, and it was awesome. It was freshly made, which really added to the quality. He put the chicken separately, which was great because then the heat of the chicken didn't cause the lettuce underneath to get soggy. The chicken was well seasoned, too. Went on the hunt with my friends from NY for some great pizza. We found some! I think this is one of the better pizzas I have found in the area. Great crust and sauce. We also tried the chicken tenders which I liked since I like breaded chicken. They were slightly disappointed because they like it more friend/crispy but that's a preference thing. Their famous strawberry, homemade glazed pecan and walnuts, goat cheese and dried cranberries with their homemade dressing and fresh pita bread was one of the best things I've had. The entire menu looked delicious with many healthy options which is hard to find. Yes the food was great, but the owner made the entire experience that much better! His drive to cook for people and see them enjoying his talent was awesome! Such a genuine and proud business owner who truly appreciates ever customer that walked through his door. Walked in and ordered a cheese pizza and fries. Pizza was just ok. (Looked better than it tasted.) For some reason it tasted spicy almost as if they put red pepper flakes in their sauce. Sauce could use some "Italian"flavor, it shouldn't be spicy. fries were just ok. These are the only fries on their menu you don't get a choice of style of French fry. There are other places in Wakefield that make a far superior pizza AND sauce. I will give this place another chance and order something else. Will update again. read more

Everything is great here. From the chicken parmesan and ziti dinner to the classic Italian sub and everything in between. Pure quality of food with a nice neighborhood atmosphere when you sit and eat. This takeout place has good portions and the freshest ingredients. It has a much greater variety than the other place that used to be in this spot over a year ago. And Charlie probably has the best variety of all of the takeout restaurants in town. It literally has the best chicken parm in town. This is where I go for my Christmas Eve dinner. Place your Xmas Eve orders now since they will close on 4 p.m on that day. Delicious food and Outstanding service; I was made to feel like family on my first visit! We had the steak tip dinners. Mine was with fries and my husband's with rice. I'm super picky about meat and I can honestly say that the steak tips were deliciously marinated and cooked to perfection; and, the fries were addicting - not greasy, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Charlies on Main Street We came here after disaster on Northshore Eats and were pleasantly surprised. After disapproving of a chain of 11 restaurants on Northshore Eats, we chose to give Charlie's a 5 star. The food was excellent, well cooked and arrived without tremendous wait. The staff atmosphere was amazing, Charlie being friendly to customers and even going so far as to buy scratch tickets for him and one customer. The work ethic in there is definitely high and the standard of food is higher. I highly recommend the steak rice bowl, having a fair price of $18. Charlie's was by far the best pizza I've had in Massachusetts. The dough was not too thick and not too thin. The salad was AMAZING! It is served with two homemade dressings, a balsamic and a Greek dressing. Charlie, the owner was so polite and kind! He gave us cheese pizza slices and a dessert on the house!
