My wife and I tend to share an appetizer and a main most times when we dine out. We started out with the stuffed piquillo peppers and they did not disappoint! If you are a fan of goat cheese you will love these too. The sweetness of the pepper with the tang of balsamic coupled with the smooth taste of the goat cheese is almost to die for! We then shared the Pimento burger with fries and those too were outstanding! The burger is not overwhelmingly big, but big enough for two to share. The fries were absolutely delish! The service was good as well. I don't remember anything over-the-top outstanding but these days, decent service might actually qualify as over-the-top relative to what you see at most establishments! (so sad) Definitely worth a try if you are in the Chattanooga area.

Now, the place had more noise than a family reunion after someone mentions politics--two teenage softball teams carrying on, laughing, living large. Hard to fault that. Better than silence so thick you can hear your own regrets. Food showed up quick, which is about all you can ask when you're hungry enough to consider eating the menu. And it was good--honest good. Not "tell your mama about it" good, but solid, dependable, "yep, I'd order that again" good. Prices didn't make you feel like you'd just financed somebody's boat, either. Beer was cold--like it ought to be, like it better be--and the waitress understood to be there exactly when we needed her and vanishing when we didn't. That's an art form. Now the atmosphere... well, it had all the charm of a place that once had big decorating plans and then decided, "Eh, this'll do." A little on the bare side. Felt like a Friday night that never quite got dressed up. But I'll tell you this--I'd go back. And that, right there, is about the highest praise you can give a place without writing a love letter to the chef.

Every one of the sides looks so good and fresh that I wanted to get each one of them just to try it! The fish was cooked perfectly and was nice and tender. The added little muffin I didn't expect was a nice touch and delicious. The collard greens were SO GOOD. I'd get them again. So flavorful and cooked well. The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all. The ambience is super nice and fresh, and our server was so sweet and engaging. The hostess as well. Everybody there was so nice and welcoming. They validate parking if you park in the garage nearby!

I was staying at Hotel Clemons and it was an easy walk from the hotel. We started with the pork belly appetizer, had the salmon for dinner, and ordered a couple of cocktails. Everything was excellent. The service was just as good as the food. Kate took great care of us and made the experience feel warm and welcoming from start to finish. The vibe is what I loved most. It feels elevated without being pretentious. Think fine dining quality food with a relaxed atmosphere where you can actually enjoy yourself and have a conversation. If you're visiting Chattanooga and looking for a nice dinner spot, I'd definitely recommend adding this to your list. Next time I'm in town, I'll be back to try more of the menu. They have a nice large bar and also outdoor seating. Burnt brussel sprouts (starter) - delicious. Butter wedge salad - must get. Steak frites - ordered medium rare came out more rare but it was. Fries could have been better and was super salty. Sauteed mushroom (add on for steak frites - not worth it at all. Most of the mushrooms were button mushrooms. Overall, it was a nice experience but I would have to say that both times it took a while for someone to actually take my order at the bar. Maybe things are just a bit slower in TN than NY. I would still recommend and would go back.

The service is superb, warm and inviting what you would expect from a southern style restaurant and very clean. The hot bard was always clean and fully stocked. We didn't have to wait too long before we were seated and we got our drink orders. The fried chicken was excellent. Some more of my favorites was the fried okra, wieners and sauerkraut, meatballs (specially seasoned) boiled cabbage, pasta salad, corn bread, banana pudding ( the best I have had in a long time} peach cobbler mmmmmm and they kept the cobbler and fresh cookies on a hot plate to keep them warm. What restaurant does that besides this one!? By the way the salad bar was well kept also. If those attention to details wasn't enough for you, the price includes your drink, and the coffee was so good I had 5 cups!

I'm reminded of an older homey diner, plenty of seating, plenty of staff assisting. Pre-pay, get seated, order you drinks and choose from so many southern dishes. The presentation was that of a cafeteria mixed with mix n match buffet equipment, I think this played part on how I choose my food. They home style choices were numerous so definitely something for everyone. What I did love about this restaurant, it was definitely serving the local community and based on the number of larger, multi generational families seen together it was truly heart warming. I think this environment is much better than a stuffy environment and great to see a community supportive of the locals. Close to Hwy 27 so in the mood for a large meal or just some home style cooking give it a try. Finally don't forget to pick up some local honey or goods.
