I brought my brand new leather jacket in and I asked if he could remove the shoulder pads, leather piece and snap button. In one day he was able to make it look like a brand new jacket! Very impressed with the service here. I brought my boots and wedge boots here on a Friday and came to pick them up on the following Tuesday! Finally a Quality Shoe repair! After trying a ton of places I found this Gem in Studio City. The prices are great and the work is perfection! I took in a pair of leather Louis Vuitton loafers to be repaired. They were in pretty bad shape when I brought them in but when I picked them up I couldn't believe my eyes. They looked Brand new! He even repaired some stitches that were coming apart that I hadn't noticed! I could tell they take their time with the repairs and take pride in perfection. I'm going back tomorrow with more shoes. I brought my Christian Louboutin's here to have the heel caps replaced and the inside sole glued down in one shoe. He was able to fix them in 21 minutes for only $18!! While I was waiting, Another customer called because they couldn't find parking (which was available not too far away, but I'm guessing they were probably in a rush), so he ran outside to hand deliver their shoes. Now THATS great customer service!! TIP: Free parking in the nearby lot, next to Vons, FedEx Kinkos shopping center. Wow, that's a gem I've just discovered! I recently moved and was looking for a new shoe repairs/maintenance place to help me take care of all my shoes (I am shoe-bonkers and they don't just sit in the closet ). Honestly, I was a little scared to try a new place, I've heard so many terror-stories about ruined shoes... This is a small and quiet place between an Indian restaurant and a fish store. Easy to miss! I usually park by Big 5 and walk, but only because I take so little time, they wouldn't be able to tow me even if they tried)) The signs do say that the parking lot is only for the Big 5 customers, so I recommend parking along the sidewalk at a metered spot. And now to the main part: So far I've had 2 pairs of shoes resoled, one cleaned and one had its heeltaps replaced here. The quality of work is immaculate! The resoled shoes were both Louboutins and both look just perfect - no glue or paint leaking, no bits sticking out. Very even, very professional! Will bring more, though I already had most of them resoled at my previous shoe-repair place, I now wish I didn't. It was a little more expensive and a little less neat( As for the cleaned pair - they just saved it! It was a blush-pink suede pair of flats with embellishments and for some reason I decided that it was okay to wear them to the beach. Hiking. ‍*facepalm* I don't know what I was thinking, but they were ruined. After Charlie's they look like new again! I now wish I took "before" pictures, but I wasn't planning to write a review then. I swear you could literally shake out the sand! And the beautiful pink color turned gray :[ And now they are like new!!!! I highly recommend you to check this place out! Whatever it is you need! His work and craftsmanship are sheer perfection, and he can take shoes and boots that have seen better days and restore them back to mint condition. I brought a pair of shoes here for years that I worked in and loved them so much that I kept wearing out the heel. He kept those shoes going for years! Recently, I brought in a favorite pair of leather boots that are still in great condition but I had peeled back the sole of one of them by removing them improperly. He not only glued the sole back on, but polished and shined them both back up so much so that they look brand new. I keep getting compliments on them. I have an expensive belt (400+ dollars) that needed to be shortened - I took it to the repair shop recommended by the retailer (Tod's) in Laguna Beach, who quoted me 25 dollars for the repair, and another 25 to ship. I had my own fedex account number, but they said it would still be 15 dollars for handling (which I presume meant putting the belt in a box and making out the label). And they were rude. I passed. Because of the belt's cost, and the fact that I hadn't used Charlie's for anything other shoe repair in the past, I was a bit hesitant but went for it. I needed the belt back the next day for a trip, and had two other belts that needed shortening. I offered to pay extra for a rush on one the one belt. When I went back the next day, he had done a rush on all three belts and charged me 23 dollars total. The work was impeccable. Some other reviewers have talked about his attitude. Admittedly, he's not the friendliest guy when you first meet him, but if you are courteous to him, he is courteous in response. I wouldn't be surprised if his attitude wasn't a result of how people treat him. I recommend his services without reservation. He is skilled and charges reasonable prices. read more
