Not a great experience. Should've known when I saw that payment was required in advance. First time customer but the person who greeted me was very rude and seemed to scan me as he quoted a price. I asked for cleaning a pair of classic Celine suede pumps and he literally ripped out the insole, stating he was going to replace it with leather. I never asked for that. He finally agreed to cleaning them, making hand gestures that it'll take more work. He quoted me the same price as replacing the insole. I was in a hurry to get them repaired so I acquiesced. When I picked them up today, he asked me which ones on his shelf was mine. There there still was dust and some powdery residue in the soles. What a joke! He snatched it off the counter when I told him of the issue, and proceeded to rag off the inside of the shoe. Poor customer service. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. read more

Stay away! I brought a pair of sandals that had the sole of one shoe that had become detached. Owner tried to charge me $40 for a simple repair! I objected and started to leave, and he then said he could fix the one shoe for $10. I should have left then but agreed since I really like the shoes. The first time I wore the shoes, the sole separated immediately. When I brought the shoe back to the shop, the owner tried to gaslight me by saying he had fixed the "other shoe" like I was stupid and didn't know the difference. I tried to speak reasonably to him, but he began shouting at me that there was "NO WAY" he would have done it. He became abusive and I was actually afraid of what he would do next so I left with my useless shoe. DO NOT use them, especially if you are a woman. read more

After trying to find a tailor, I was referred here to complete a job left incomplete from another tailor. My final thoughts after the task was completed are below. Customer service - I felt very rushed when explaining what I wanted the owner to complete. During the day (Saturday) promised, I nearly waited over 20+ minutes for them to grab my item offsite. He was nice enough to wait outside with me, but time is money esp. for myself during weekend. I should have to wait 20mins for any item that's not even on-site. Pricing - Pricing was mediocre versus what the final result looked like. Final product - Disappointed, it was accomplished but didn't look professionally done. Closing remarks I wouldn't return back only because the job seemed rush esp. with multiple threads missing which causes bubbling within the internal materials and glue stains on the back. How is it possible that this place has ANY good reviews?? I went in last week with a Lodis laptop shoulder bag that I had accidentally burned through one of the straps. I had a Lodis-issued pair of replacement straps and asked the guy if he could replace the burned strap. He said yes, no problem. First, he said I would have to pay upfront. Okay, don't love that, but okay. I asked him how much - and he looked me up and down, as if to gauge the value of the clothing and jewelry I was wearing before quoting me a price!!! Then he asked me how much I paid for the bag. Seriously? No. How much does it cost to replace straps on a leather laptop bag, man? That shouldn't be a sliding scale depending on what I paid for the bag. I told him I didn't know what I paid for the bag (it's a leather Lodis laptop bag, it was probly between $250 - $300 new, but it's several years old). He said $100 for the strap replacement. I said that's too much, so he said "fine $80". I HATE haggling. Just quote a fair and consistent price, man. And $80 is still WAY too expensive, but I just accepted it, because I don't feel comfortable in situations like that. A week later, I come back to pick up the bag.... I think the pictures speak for themselves. The stitching looks like it was done drunk. And the straps are on UPSIDE DOWN. There's a section of padding in the leather strap because it's a shoulder bag, and the padding is supposed to cushion your shoulder, and he attached the straps so that the padding is on the outside. Which is both completely un-functional, and also totally stupid looking. I realized this as I was walking out, and I went back in and said "I think the straps are on upside down." And he said that "they weren't", that it "didn't matter", then he held the bag in his hand by the straps like a tote as if to say, look how much more comfortable it is. And I said, it's a shoulder bag; the padding is supposed to be there on the inside to cushion your shoulder. And he said, NO. (the longer I was in there, the more forceful, loud, and rude he was getting) He said he put it where he put it because "the bump would bother you", even though the "bump" is there because the strap bothers you WITHOUT the padding. And when I just looked at him, he made a face as if to say "what a problem you are" and then he showed me how look if you just twist the straps, you know, so they're TWISTED, that look, suddenly the bump is on the inside. That it didn't matter what side the bump was on. I just walked out, because this guy is pushy and intimidating and was clearly NEVER going to give me my money back, or just fix the work. I didn't even realize how messed up the stitching was til I got home I was so pissed about the straps. If you go here you should expect that you will get ripped off and your items will be ruined. A twofer. I'm reading the other reviews for this place...Third generation cobbler? Knowledge? Workmanship? Seriously? Again, the pictures of my laptop bag speak for themselves. Either this place changed ownership, or the intern is doing all the leatherwork now, because this was next level, egregiously bad workmanship AND customer service. Give this place your business at your own risk. I literally need to give this laptop bag to my sister now, because every time I see it, it makes me furious. I feel like a total sucker. I wish I had thought to have taken before pictures before I came in. I live in the neighborhood and am guilty of driving past here literally hundreds of times thinking one day I'll bring some shoes in for some TLC. I brought a pair of Cole Haan sneakers that I was tempted just to donate and buy a new pair. I am so glad I didn't. Arman made them look better than new! I don't understand the bad reviews. Arman was kind, professional, honest, and reliable when he resoled and painted some heels in 2021. Turnaround time was 3 days. He gave me advice on how to care for my shoes. He was passionate. He didn't treat me unfairly or rude. I was totally fine with paying upfront. I understand the business owner doesn't want to expend labor and be left with shoes people choose to abandon after they decide the price is not worth it. Perhaps they do great work; I don't know. I brought in a pair of shoes to be repaired and was offered a price that I felt was more than I wanted to spend. We successfully negotiated a better price that was still more than I planned to spend, but I was guaranteed excellent work. The shop owner's son gave me a work ticket and asked for payment up front. I said I'd rather pay upon pickup. He asked the shop owner in front of me who agreed to receive payment after rendering services. That was on Monday and I was told I could pick up Thursday. I came in Friday to pick up and the shop owner told me he didn't touch my shoes because there was no deposit. I thought he was joking. He said they don't do any work without a deposit. I reminded him that he authorized payment upon pickup right in front of me. He said with a $5 deposit, he would fix them today (even though he previously told me four days); I declined his offer. I'm giving one star for a lack of communication/accountability and ultimately having my time wasted. I'm grateful this wasn't a repair I needed by a specific deadline. Horrible. Brought in shoes to have the soles glued on and did a horrible job. Left a huge crack on part of the soles and blamed it on me when i know for a fact it was not there. Brought in my Real Italian leather satchel bag, was beautiful but needed conditioning and a bit of repair, glueing some delimitation. The owner sold me on how much this bag needed extra care and attention given the quality of the leather and charged me $100 to restore it. What I received I could have done myself watching YouTube with $15 in products... he lost one of my clasps that held the bag closed, told me I didn't give it to him when I made sure everything was in place when I brought it in. can't find a replacement anywhere. He glued a crappy leather patch over it with a cheap Chinese clasp, glue residue all over the bag uneven gluing, the only thing I can say is good is the leather conditioner helped. I spent $100 to ruin a $300 bag... I'm sure he can do some projects well, but when it comes to craftsmanship, don't expect him to care. read more

I was disappointed , a very simple repair on my designer sandals shoe turned out bad. My designer shoe sandals , Stella Mccartney needed a simple glue on strap my favorite sandals is bright color, the only repair was needed was a glue to keep the strap in front of my shoe. He used a dirty hammer that he uses for men shoes on my shoes so the dirty hammer surface made a darker shade on surface of my strap . Unfortunately it made my strap looks darker and old . A simple glue repair turned out my designer shoe with a dark marks . If he could have just wipe the surface of his hammier to use for different shoes this would have not happened. Very surprise as experience as he claims he is, he should have used his skills , a common sense to take care of more fine shoes repairs for ladies . Being clean is very important when you do a job.
