I have been a customer for over 15 years. I needed a lift on the bottom of my shoe on one foot, this is the only place that will do it by expertly, removing the treads, putting lift on and then reattaching the treads so that the bottom of the shoe is not slippery. Rent in the mall is not cheap, you get what you pay for. read more

I would recommend this shoe doctor in the Sherman Oaks Mall. I stained a pair of leather shoes with an oil stain and after trying a couple of online at-home solutions where I want able to remove the stain, I decided to bring it to this location to get the stain cleaned. He was upfront with me that there was a chance the stain wouldn't come out, and the price and time frame were reasonable. I came back when he said they would be done and they looked like new. These professionals have been cleaning and renewing my leather dress work shoes for years, but decided to try them for tennis shoes a few years back and have been completely satisfied... Especially after this! I was at first a frustrated customer of Ebay's authenticity guarantee when this new pair of shoes somehow slipped by the process of ad description of being new, when in fact, these were somehow unused, but soiled and damaged. Being that I have gone to these guys for about 10 years now as of 2024, I decided to bring this challenging pair by. First stage was cleaning... picked them up, looked great... Set them in my closet... let them marinate in a natural environment... My closet... Lo and behold... the oil residue just seemed to overtake the cleaning after a week or two. So I brought them back for a second look. They suggested dying the shoe. Immediately I was concerned about the red logo being dyed, but they assured me that logo and non-leather parts would be taped off or excluded from the dying process. To further assure me of their professionalism, they credited the cleaning and gave me that discount towards the dying , since I already paid for a cleaning, to try this process next. I got these shoes back... like I did after the first cleaning, and just set them aside for a few weeks to see if the oil or whatever was soiled on the shoe would come back. It didn't!!!... I am so amazed, threw on the laces and had to take a picture of the before and after. For most of the 10 years, they were cleaning my several hundred dollar, even thousand dollar designer formal dress shoes, and now I can say they have also mastered high end sneakers! read more

I've been coming to this place since we moved to the area. They're great as always until they're NOT. I brought about 8 pairs of shoes a couple of times. The last pick up that I did, I called the store and informed one of the brothers over the phone that I was missing a pair of shoes. I was asked to describe the shoes and when I had the time, I came by and drew what it looked like as I couldn't find a photo of the shoes. I love this cute Anne Klein pump. I was told to look for it at home and if they find it that they'll let me know. I looked and looked and I almost forgot about it until my husband reminded me that I did pay for the repair/upkeep of the shoes that was lost. I thought the owner would remember me as I've been coming to this place and they're nice to me every time. They even shared that they're planning on retiring maybe in 3 years or so. So I went back to explain about my lost shoe and I did pay for the repair. I was then told that it was my responsibility to make sure that I received all of what I brought in and that they're Not responsible for it. Basically they're saying that they will NOT honor my request if the refund for the repair for the shoes that they lost. I just think that I spoke to them about 3 times and Not once they mentioned my responsibility until I brought up the payment that I made. I just think that the way the older brother spoke to me was son condescending and felt that he was calling me a liar. I've been in customer service for a long time and I would never speak to anyone with concern the way I was spoken to. NEVER will I come back to this place and I will be reporting this incident to the better business bureau. I paid for something that they lost. Regarding it's my responsibility. If Thai was explained to me in a kinder manner, I would take responsibility, but the way I spoke to was uncalled for. Lesson learned- bring your shoes at your own risk, they only give you a ticket and stamped paid and they take it when you pick up the shoes. The qty of shoes is NOT written on the ticket. Advice- take a photo of what you're bringing in next to whoever is helping you for proof! read more

Previously, I would take my shoes to a lil shoe cobbler at The Grove, and now am considering returning. He was always thoughtful, introspective and kind. And above it all wholly knew how to retrieve paint stains from my YSL vintage boots. Boots are leather and I'm not into that BUT if they are vintage, and pre-loved, it's sustainable. Oh yes, where was I, this shoe shop is efficient and it's located at the mall. However, the customer service is null, as in completely absent from our planet Earth. If you're in a hurry and need to have the heel of yr boot replaced, that's a conundrum that must be addressed. However, if you are accustomed to pleasantries such as cordial banter, this may be not for you or for me. Miscommunication with an old leather belt. Very sad to say. The stitching which was ripped was not restored as I was told. The holes punched in to make the belt smaller were smaller than the original holes. And he wanted twice as much money to do what I said when I came to pick it up. He was yelling at me as I calmly explained what I wanted done a second time. How would I know how to fix this belt? I repeated what I was told when I brought in the belt and he said no one would do that for the price I was charged. I had been looking for a new "shoe repair guy" when a good friend of mine who really knows fine clothing and craftsmanship referred me to Harry at the Shoe Doctor in the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square. I thought it would be expensive being located in a mall, but was pleasantly surprised when I met Harry and he told me what he could do and what it would cost. He touched up scuffs and polished four pairs of shoes, put new rubber heels on one of them, and re-glued the soles on another. He also cleaned up and repaired a beautiful leather messenger bag I got in Mexico forever ago. The shoes and bag were ready in a few days, the work was good, and Harry (and his brother Arthur) were a pleasure to deal with. Harry is now my new "shoe repair guy." read more

I thrifted white cowgirl boots many years ago. They are my favorite shoes. I wear them all the time. They have survived many concerts and coachellas and really needed a cleaning. The guys at Shoe Doctor let me know they really should be dip dyed bc they were so dirty HA, but I expressed I wanted to keep the character / worn look, and could they just give a good cleaning & see how the white turns out? They heard me out, and when I went to pick them up my jaw was on the FLOOR. They were sparkling white, but bc they weren't dyed still had their dark creases. I am a big fan of shoe repair. I ruin the heel of my shoes constantly, specially on the outside of the heel. I'm guessing it the way I walk. Anyway, finding a good and decent price shoe repair man is not easy as they are slowly disappearing making competition very low. As you can imagine there's not very many anymore. I find this place very reasonable. Specially if you're like me that like their shoes very much and wear them out. I had some taps installed on the side of the heel that I wear out the most. I felt that the taps will fall off and Harry the shoe guy re-assured me that if it comes off to bring is back. He will re-attach it for free. How cool was that? The Shoe Fixer Uppers!! Omg I love this place so much! I come here to have my shoes shined and heels repaired. My shoes always look like new when I go to pick them up. The customer service is very pleasant. The repairmen (I have never seen women there working) are always very nice and genuine. The prices are extremely affordable and they are located just outside of the Fashion Square Mall in Sherman Oaks but in the same parking area (I hope that wasn't confusing! If so, just leave a comment or message me!). The turn around time is usually next day but I am sure if you bring your shoes in really early and the need isn't too tedious, they could probably get it done by the end of the day. Be careful. I brought my new DKNY backpack because the zipper broke. I cannot believe it but they ruined my bag. The zipper would not close properly and the pattern was faded. I brought it back a couple days later and they said that the pattern was already faded which isn't true. They didn't want to admit they were wrong and did a horrible job. Took my Marc Jacobs leather backpack in to have the straps fixed as they were both hanging on by a thread. Took it in on a Sunday and was ready by Thursday. I just picked it up and they did such an amazing job, my bag looks brand new! Other places were quoting me up to $100, but Shoe Doctor was no where near that price and my purse looks great!
