Ate here twice during a recent trip to Kenai Peninsula. Had the crepes "special" the first time and a ham and cheese omelet the second time. Both were excellent. The only negative I can recall was that on the second visit, the music was "all country, all the time" and I cannot stand country music. If music was playing during my first visit, it didn't register. So it couldn't have been country because, to me, country is just like fingernails on a chalkboard. It sends me right around the bend. I can tolerate mediocre food (to a point) but country music? No way. Besides what's up with country music in Alaska? Bluegrass - maybe but Alaska is a helluva long way from the South and Cowboy country, although you do see quite a few Stetsons in Alaska. Not nearly as many as baseball caps but too many. We did see a few people actually riding horses with cowboy hats on but that doesn't mean it's appropriate. (I wonder if Sarah Palin wore a cowboy (girl?) hat when she was shooting wolves from helicopters.) read more

Decent food and friendly staff on our way to Homer. Got in about 5 minutes after breakfast was over, but they made an exception and let us order from the breakfast menu, and we really appreciated that. Coffee was not the best, but everything else delicious. read more

Based on our experience today, I say find another place! We waited 25 mins to get a cold grilled cheese sandwich and no attention. It was just regular grilled cheese - guess they forgot the Parmesan crust! The chicken Caesar sandwich was fair - again nothing to be excited about! read more

Over $100 for 4 sandwiches and 2 sodas ?????? This place is mediocre, at best. Nothing like overpaying for a sub par sandwich with almost nothing between the bread. Most sandwiches are advertised on a homemade sourdough hogie when it is actually a small to medium dinner roll. The Cuban had 2-3 slices of deli meat, at most, on the entire sandwich and was left on the panini grill way too long. Do yourself a huge favor and don't even drive past this place....it might sour your entire vacation. read more

Oh yum! Definitely going to be a staple in our visits to Kenai. Looking for a place for breakfast in Kenai, and not wanting fast food I searched online and found Charlotte's. It was a treat. While breakfast service had long passed we thought we'd try out lunch. I had the Calif club croissant with bourdon beans. It was just the right amount of turkey, bacon, avocado, condiments and melted cheeses. The beans were delightful. My husband had Cathy's chick'n kick'n sandwich which is made with a habanero orange marmalade cream cheese sauce. For a guy who likes some heat this was a perfect choice for him. He had the pasta salad side which was very good too. While I was paying the bill (which as you would expect you pay a bit more for a good sandwich) my husband picked up chocolate cream pie and key lime pie slices to go. What a wonderful treat to eat a slice of pie at the Tern lake turn off half-way home. We can't wait to try breakfast. read more

A friend and I have tried this restaurant for late lunches on three different visits during 2022. Clearly it's a popular place but we don't seem to be in synch with the menu items. We have tried sandwiches, salads, and soups and we feel like the food is about average. It isn't a place that we feel like driving 10 miles for the food. I had been fishing for a week, getting up at 2 AM and you don't find any restaurants open. But this day I was preparing to head home and I didn't have to get up early. So I decided to find a good place for breakfast. I searched Yelp and found a winner. Charlotte's seemed to be the place that all the locals ate. The place was Spotless, the decorations added to it. The Waitress were very friendly and acknowledged you right away. When the food came, it was a picture. I enjoyed my breakfast very much and if I could, I would give it a 10. Drove over to Charlotte's from Soldotna at 9am to try their breakfast selections but they were unexpectedly closed and the sign on the door indicated that their hours started at 11am instead of 8am. Charlotte's is cute, but it didn't live up to the hype. Based on the reviews here, I drove an extra 20 minutes to Kenai rather than just finding a place where I was staying. The food and service were okay, the restaurant is cute, but I certainly wasn't wowed. My husbands breakfast in particular, made me go "really?!?" The portion was small for starters... less than half what I was given. The sourdough pancakes looked DREADFUL, pale and doughy. He didn't even eat them and he LOVES pancakes. I ended up splitting my breakfast with him, because mine was pretty good and the portion was huge. I got the Pork Carnitas scramble which was quite delicious and tender. Hubby loved that as well and he was jealous, hence my sharing. Honestly the portion was ginormous so it was no skin off my nose to half it with him. The coffee and the honey oat bread were nothing special either. Everything was fine, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way for Charlotte's. read more

We ate breakfast at Charlotte's on our way out for a day of dipnetting. We had the breakfast skillet, biscuits and gravy, and traditional breakfast. The food and service were excellent. We tried to go back on Saturday for a second time. Despite the hours posted on the door, it was closed at 11am. We were sad we were not able to support this amazing restaurant a second time and possibly try the lunch menu. Hopefully next year when we come back down for dipnetting we can try again. read more

Charlotte's never fails to impress - and I'm a picky eater! I love going here for lunch, the food is always fresh and consistently good. I LOVE their bread. I typically stick with the beef dip, but know that the other sandwiches are very good. You can choose from a medium sandwich or a large (which by today's American portions I guess would be "small" and "medium") and comes with your choice of pasta salad (which is different daily) or baked beans. I had the pasta salad today and it was a type I'd not had before and it was super yummy! My favorite to date! Portions do tend to be on the small side unless you get a salad, but the prices are not high so I think it's a good bang for your buck. read more

My grandma and I ate here while visiting the area, I had the chicken caesar sandwich which was actually really good and pretty cheap, I think around $12 for the smaller size that actually ended up being pretty big. I also took a coffee to go, that was good as well. I think this is a nice little place to eat out at, considering there's not very many like it around. read more

This place makes great food! Today when we were in for a bite, the service was extra slow, even though it wasn't busy. As we waited for our food, I watched the busser "clean" two used tables by running a dry napkin over the table tops. Never sprayed down with disinfectant or even water. Then she reset both tables. The next customer who used one of the tables had to ask for a napkin to wipe down her dirty chair before she sat down. Our food sat for about ten minutes waiting for the server, who was flirting with two guys at a table not in her serving area. The food was ok. It probably would've been really good if she had served it when the cook put it out to be served. Charlotte's, you can do better, especially with cleaning the tables during covid outbreaks read more

If I could give no stars I would as soon as my friends and I entered the building we where welcomed with a go ahead and set, as soon as the waitress brought us water she didn't ask us if we wanted anything else to drink that was strike one, Strike two was when she brought out our food I had to ask for drinks other than water strike three lt was when I went to drink my coffee there was broken glass all around the handle area and also in the cup the little micro shards cut my finger and the cherry on top was when the owner of all things still brings our bill to pay it all she only took the coffee off if I was her she better watch herself that one moment could have cost her here whole restaurant if I had drank that coffee. Fabulous, food!! The southwest burrito was huge & delicious!! The blueberry crepres special was a perfect fit for my daughter with a huge sweet-tooth. We were a little disappointed at first to see no "meat" options(steak, country fried steak, pork chop).. but the large biscuits and gravy almost makes up for it. Went here for lunch today not really knowing what to expect. It was so good! A cute little place with eye catching pictures and glass art. The lunch was great. I had Amelia's steak sandwich with the bourbon baked beans. The beans were delicious, as was the sandwich. The perfect blend of blue cheese and steak. A friend asked what was available for dessert, and oh my, The dessert spread was impressive! I had the cremé brûlée (very good), but will be returning so I can try the Russian cream.
