For Father's Day, we visited our favorite Thai restaurant, Charm Thai and Sushi, and once again, it did not disappoint. This is my dad's favorite spot. What keeps us coming back is the incredible hospitality. The waitstaff is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, making every visit feel special. The food is some of the best Thai cuisine I've had in a very long time. Our go-to dish is the Beef Cashew Nut, which is consistently outstanding. We love the sauce so much, we mix it thoroughly with rice so nothing goes to waste . I could literally take shots of their incredible cashew nut sauce We also love the Papaya Salad with the perfect hint of spices that makes your mouth water for more. You could get it hot and it will burn your lips off but you will thank me later In this visit we tried the Tom Yum Seafood Soup and their seafood pineapple fried rice--absolutely phenomenal with bold, authentic flavors. The fried rice came in half of a pineapple and the presentation was delightful. I didn't want to eat the fried rice because the presentation was so beautiful. I stared at it for 2 seconds and devoured it like a ravenous dog The Shrimp Pad Thai is another favorite, perfectly balanced and packed with flavor. Probably one of my best and I'm really picky with Pad Thai. The Pad-Se-Ew are equally delicious, with just the right amount of spice and richness. My neice loves their Chicken Panang Curry. It's so good over rice. You could taste the slight coconut milk used for the curry. It was so smooth and creamy, I wanted to drink it My nephew can't get enough of the chicken satay with the warm peanut sauce. Not sure if they sell the peanut sauce but I'll take a dozen bottles of that. All their meals are truly incredible. Hats off on bringing the taste of Thai to us simple folks. We are not worthy The humble amazing chef appears to bring true Thai authenticity to every dish, and it shows. Every meal tastes fresh, homemade, and full of traditional flavor. They also serve sushi, which is surprisingly excellent and a great addition to the menu. I need to dive in for sushi cause I saw the rolls come out and looks like a piece of edible art. If you're heading toward the Disney area and are looking for authentic Thai food or incredible sushi, I highly recommend giving Charm Thai And Sushi a try. In my opinion, it's hands down one of the best Thai restaurants in Central Florida and maybe the whole galaxy. 5/5 -- Outstanding food, exceptional service, and an experience that keeps us coming back. Stopped by for a quick snack and ordered the Chicken Tempura Roll, and it exceeded my expectations. The tempura chicken was crispy, the roll was fresh, and the sauces on top added the perfect amount of flavor without overpowering the sushi. Every bite was delicious. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and service was quick, making it a great spot for either a casual lunch or a quick bite. I also noticed they have a really nice happy hour menu, which gives me another reason to come back and try more items. Sadly, despite being the closest Thai restaurant to us, there wasn't much charming about it, being expensive and simply not great compared to the others in the Orlando area. This is a smaller restaurant, with tables very close to each other. The service was fine and friendly enough, but I felt the Pad Thai had an unusual flavor to it. Again, it was expensive for what it was...they're clearly trying to capture some of the park traffic. Maybe we had an off experience, but for Thai food we've come to enjoy Thai Blossom in Winter Garden, Soong Thai, and Pop Thai in Winter Park better. read more

Generally lacking in flavor and the noodles wayyyy too soft. Please don't get me started on the crab rangoon. While I have seen these come in a variety of shapes, these looked like the upper part of a chicken wing. Guess I should give points for creativity. We've been getting food from this spot fairly frequently, both dine-in and uber eats. The food is really good like 90% of the time, but here & there the sushi fish has tasted a bit fishy/a little past its prime. All the Thai food we've tried has been really great! They have an interesting menu and lots of unique drink options. When we're in person, the presentation/plating has been absolutely beautiful! I was unsure what cuisine I wanted for my birthday since I don't really celebrate these days, but my BIL, who's also a Yelp elite but in Orlando, recommended a few places. I liked the idea of Thai food, and the restaurant is nearby. He said that they go as a family often and that the food is really good. The restaurant itself is in a shopping center with plenty of parking. There were 8 of us, and we were seated in the front part of the restaurant dining area to accommodate. It was the day before Thanksgiving, so they were pretty busy with those dining in and taking out or food delivery via Uber Eats or DoorDash. I'm sure no one wanted to cook anything else in addition to prepping for Thanksgiving. People were coming in literally every 10 mins. Some of them were greeted by name from staff, so you could tell who was a regular. It took a moment before our server came to us. I walked to where someone could see us to let them know we were ready. Our server was very kind, and he got us started with drinks and appetizers. I thought the Thai tea was good but slightly too sweet. The melting ice helped a little. The volcano chicken was similar to orange chicken with a little more tang. My dad and nephews ordered their famous crab fried rice, and they all enjoyed it. My sister got some sushi that she hadn't tried before. My mom got the Tom yum seafood combo. It was a little too spicy for her. She meant to order the other seafood combo soup without spice. I had my usual pad see ew since it's my favorite dish to order at all Thai places. I thought they put too many broccoli stems and not leaves. They didn't ask me for a spice level, but the portion was huge. I ate 1/3 or 1/4 of it and took the rest to go. Not that I didn't like it but because I don't eat much these days. At the end, I was given a free bowl of donuts (for sharing) with sauce and 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream for my birthday with a lit candle. It was so nice and unexpected. They even dimmed the lights in the restaurant and changed the music to play happy birthday on the speakers. Our server gave me a light up, flashing happy birthday sign and greeted me. He thanked me for choosing their restaurant for my birthday. It was fun! I think this place is great for locals. There's not much Asian or Thai restaurants in this area of Windermere that I've seen/noticed. You have to go about 20-30 minutes away near the new HMart. They are friendly and serve good food. Great flavors. Having lived in the west coast where there is tons of Thai cuisine, I can tell you there are few places that have authentic flavors. Charmed is one of them. My wife gets their pad see ew while I tried a few other items like the pad Thai. All flavors are on point and taste freshly prepared, opposed to premade pad Thai sauce. Needless to say our first experience was just as good as our well I can't remember how many experiences we've had there since lol! You will not find fresher sushi or better Tom Yum soup. Ordered take out twice in the past month as it's the closest Thai restaurant near me. Pad se ew was oily and lacking flavor and spice the first time. Second attempt I get the Stir fried basil w beef and get this. For $17?!? Quite literally 10 bites of actual menu item which was again super subpar with lack of flavor, minimal spice, and weird textured beef. I was stuck eating plain white rice for more than half my meal because there was even enough sauce to mix into it! My fiancées pad Thai was decent but that doesn't even come close to making up for piss poor quality and quantity of my meal. Lots of amazing thai restaurants in Orlando so this will definitely be my last attempt at supporting this place. read more

Finally checked out Charm Thai and Sushi. It was a good experience and the food was fine. I don't know that I would rush back but I wouldn't refuse to go back. We started with an order of pot stickers. They are deep fried vs pan fried which maybe them crispy. They were pretty good. I ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp and medium heat. It was a good; average pad Thai. I've had much better but also had much worse here in the area. The medium heat was hotter than I wanted, so maybe I would order closer to a 1 or mild heat. I wonder how much the heat added to the flavor. My friend ordered a curry dish and he said it had a good flavor. He also ordered medium heat and said it was way too spicy. He was sweating as he ate it. To drink I had the Thai Iced Tea. It was a strong, good Thai Iced tea. It has a nice atmosphere and the servers were very attentive. Excellent service and nice seating make this place a win, The yellowtail carpaccio was really fresh and tasty, with just the right crunch to the jalapeños. A Thai and sushi restaurant in a strip mall. It was busy and you sit in one long bench on one side and chairs in the other so each table is right next to the next one and so on. I don't particularly like being that close to the other patrons as I can completely hear their entire conversations without trying. That aside, the food hit the spot as we were craving some vegetarian Thai food. They have tofu and other items that were delicious. we ordered takeout since it is out last day before our drive back home from our Disney vacation. this was only 17 minutes away and it got good reviews so we figure why not. since we're eating at the hotel, we asked for plates, napkins and utensils. when we got there, they told us they had no paper plates so they gave us extra styrofoam containers to use as pseudo plates. we ordered the crab rangoon, tofu appetizer, green curry chicken and fried rice. the tofu and crab ragoon were pretty bad (none of us ate them). the crab ragoon looked frozen as opposed to to made at the restaurant. but the rice and curry were just okay. I didn't love the food at all... Thai food isn't authentic at all. The meat was rubbery and seemed old. Sushi was not fresh. It was slimy. I was scared to eat it. Rice was kinda old. Thai tea was way too sweet. Not strong Thai tea flavor. Sorry. It's just very disappointing. The service and staff were really nice and friendly though and the place looks good. We visited charm Thai and sushi on a Monday for lunch. They weren't too busy, so we were seated immediately. They have a big selection on their menu, and they had a lot of specials as well. I came in pretty confident that I wanted sushi, but after looking at their specials, I half changed my mind to try their ginger mussels. I also got a hamachi roll and an edamame. The ginger mussels came out first. They were delicious. The sauce was gingery, garlicky, and had a hint of sweetness, and it was served at the perfect temperature. I had asked for spiciness at a 3/5, and I felt they nailed it. The hamachi roll was also solid. It was 8 pieces of super fresh yellowtail, and the seaweed was on the outside as I prefer it. My companion got 2 of the speciality rolls, and the presentation was gorgeous. I've ordered in from charm as well, and I have to mention that they do an excellent tomyum soup and very good spring rolls too. This place is certainly a keeper, and I'm excited to go again! One of our favorite restos in HW. I usually get worried when I see two types of Asian cuisine on the menu, but Charm does a great job of both Thai food AND sushi! The Thai food is flavorful and tasty. Their pad Thai has that great balance of savory and not too sweet. I really also enjoyed the Tom kha chicken soup. That sour savory coconut broth was so good and loved the lime and lemongrass flavors swirled in with the fish sauce. But our favorites have been the sushi! I've been dying for some decent sushi in our area and this place delivers. Fish is fresh and so many creative rolls. The Pokémon roll is our favorite. It has this crispy topping that is just amazing. You never guess such a great spot by the Disney employee parking spot would be this good! Such a nice addition to Horizon West and Disney parks area! A few considerations for this rating - there are fairly no other Thai food competitors in the area which is why this place is so so very welcome! They have a slew of options $15-20 which is perfect for a work lunch, especially being so close to Disney property (cast member discount when you call, not online ordering). But also have some specialty items as well. My go-to's are the classic Thai American items like green, panang curries and pad see-ew with your choice of protein (chicken, pork, beef, seafood with an upcharge). I ordered summer rolls, edamame, rice, and the special Pra Ram dish (Steamed chicken, Homemade peanut sauce, Eggplant, Carrot, napa cabbage, Broccoli served with white rice). Stopped by for dinner with family. Opted for the stir-fried basil as you can never go wrong with Thai basil. They use a scaling spicy system of 1-5 to choose your level of heat. I ordered a 5 which was met with a bit of skepticism, but I provided the staff with the reassurance needed. Their level 5 was less spicy than I've had elsewhere but will probably suffice for most. The staff were super kind to the family and know them by name as there are some special allergy considerations. Charm Thai is one of our favorite Thai spots! Conveniently located near the Magic Kingdom cast parking lot, it's perfect whether you're a local from Windermere or Horizon West, or visiting Disney and want to venture off-property. While the restaurant itself is on the smaller side, don't let that deter you--it's cozy and welcoming. Parking is plentiful, and we've rarely had to wait long for a table. They also seem to do brisk takeout business. On this visit, I had the pad see ew, which was delicious. The spice level was just right--noticeable but not overwhelming. My wife ordered the cashew nut with chicken and enjoyed it, though she mentioned it could've used a bit more chicken. Our 6-year-old polished off the dragon roll with ease, which is impressive for someone his age! They make the sushi rolls at the counter and it's always very impressive and fresh. The service was good overall, though it slowed down a bit when we were waiting for the check. One thing to note: they only have one high chair, so if you're dining with a little one, you may want to bring a clip-on high chair if you have one just in case. The pad se-ew was super flavorful. I would order that again. The pad Thai was average. We also ordered the sushi sashimi platter. I am not exactly sure about all the fish that was on there but there were quite a few types of fish that were so chewy and hard to eat I had to stop eating them. I had such high expectations of Charm Thai from the high rating and wonderful reviews but I was ultimately so disappointed. We started off with springs roll and I ordered vegan pad Thai medium (spice level 2) They gave a good amount of spring rolls but I felt like it was missing something, like I didn't see any noodles in there and the cabbage was mushy inside. Excited for the pad Thai, it came out and it looks good, saucy and good color and as soon as I took the first bite it was so sour! Not what pad Thai is supposed to taste like. I'm not sure if it's because I said vegan so they didn't put fish sauce in it but I don't know if a little bit of fish sauce makes the most difference. I politely told them and exchanged it for pad ke mao which was better but even then this time it lacked flavor and spice and was on the dryer side. The restaurant became busy during peak dinner time. Service was good. Everyone seems to love it so maybe it was an off day, not sure. If I were to go back, I would get pad Thai normal with spice level 3 to see if it tastes different.
