This was my first time trying this spot. My wife and I are a big fan of all you can eat sushi and I wanted to try this one since it was advertised as Brazilian sushi. We came around 2pm. It was after the lunch crowd had gone and it was just us in the restaurant so service was excellent. Each dish came out within 5-10 mins. Everything was fresh as well. The items on the menu are definitely Brazilian-inspired. There's many options with cream cheese, which you may like, while others may not. I didn't mind it, but my wife wasn't a fan. Still, there were plenty of items for her. If I'm in the area, I would come back, considering it's one of the less expensive all you can eat sushi experiences in Orlando. Best for the money!! This place is my go to in orlando. It's sushi with a Brazilian twist. Everything is so fresh and waitresses are so nice and describe anything you ask. The place is small so be ready to wait if it's during peak hours. Honestly everything is good off the menus. It's kinda a nice date night dressy casual spot. I usually get the all you can eat. We went on Christmas night. So shout out to all the employees that had to work that night! We were greeted immediately and it was pretty empty for Christmas dinner when we first arrived. However, as the night went on, it got pretty packed. It's a small restaurant so I definitely feel like it wasn't able to properly accommodate everyone by the end of the night. They do have all you can eat sushi but we opted out of it. We ordered a variety of food. I got salmon and shrimp with white rice. Kinda upset that the vegetables tasted like they were just microwaved. The chicken fried rice barely had any flavor to it. The dragon roll was pretty good though (and it made me lowkey wish we did AYCE because I think their sushi is better than their entrees). Other than that, it wasn't a bad experience. The eel on the dragon roll was yummy but for $19 that was disappointing. The other rolls were very basic. But Hand Roll Sushi is on the cutting edge of marginal. They had a full house. It was loud and a little chaotic. Miso soup was the high mark. We had five rolls. I'd strongly suggest not having any of their "hot" rolls which are deep fried in something that had no semblance of a tempura batter. This will be a shorter than usually review. I didn't have much to say about this place. The short answer is, this place is good for hand rolls, but the tempura appetizer is Not worth ordering it! The menu on Yelp is not up to date! When I called in the order, some of the options were not available due to this. Please update the menu there. The service was friendly though! I got 3 hand rolls and an order of veggie tempura. The hand rolls were delicious! The shrimp tempura one was my favorite! The veggie tempura was awful though! Only broccoli and carrots. The tempura on it was super greasy and thick. This place does well with hand rolls, but misses the mark with tempura! Ive never wrote a review before and I hate to say this because I want to support all businesses but I felt the need to say something for the first time ever for other people's sake... because I am waiting for this food poisoning tonight. I was so hungry and excited so we ordered $150 worth of food and not a single item was edible. So there either going out of business and making short cuts or they dont know or care for the danger of this type of food they serve that will 100% cause an illness. Again I feel horrible for making this review but it actually truly was inedible. So I guess we'll take the loss of 150 and get wendys instead. WHICH IS SO SAD. Publix's sushi is better... the hospital where I work as a nurse sushi is 1000x better. This is my new favorite sushi spot in Orlando. For your value, it can't get better than this. For $25.40 you get all you can eat sushi with select appetizers and a dessert option included. The only catch is that you can only have 3 temakis per person -- which is more than reasonable considering how filling they are. My favorite thing about this spot is how fresh the fish is. No where else in Orlando can compare with the quality and value for your buck. The waitstaff is incredibly friendly and extremely accommodating for any dietary restrictions you might have. Got Uber eats from this place and it sure did not disappoint! Try it out for sure. Their raw salmon (my fav) is super fresh! I got an appetizer that was carpaccio salmon which was my favorite dish. Of course I also had to order some nigiri (salmon and tuna is super good) and a temaki with cream cheese. I liked that their cream cheese wasn't too much and overpowering. They also did a good job at giving plenty of soy sauce but they could have given a bit more wasabi in my opinion. So if you like wasabi def ask for extra. You know. I thought a long time about this review. I used to love coming to HRS. Like a Brazilian oasis with excellent ombiance and good, carefully prepared food. I was shocked went I noticed a subpar review for the place. I had to see it for myself. Regrettably, it's true. Don't know if there's new owners - menu has expanded [bad decision], no uniforms on waitstaff [bad decision] and little care in preparation or plating [terrible decision]. Where did my little slice of Rio go?? Perhaps it's just the take-out that suffered or maybe the post (is there a thing) Covid shock, or perhaps just lunch. Never again. I ordered miso soup. It came in not an insulated soup container but a flat plastic food bubble. You know, the ones in which you take-out sushi that require a C4 charge to open. Obviously it was cold when I arrived home. Then, my mistake. I ordered cerviche. I thought if Brazilians can't make a good cerviche, the US team can't take the team gold in Basketball. Once again, it came in the flat round plastic take-out bubble. It appears someone took sushi odds and ends, added onion and lemon juice, and served. Marinade, not really. Jalapeño? Uh nope. Kind of sorry, soft fish bits and onion. Tuna temaki was standard. Salmon skin maki standard. Really can't get over the cerviche. They say you should never meet your heros. This attractive sushi restaurant is a nice addition to the neighborhood. It may be the first sushi restaurant I've been to that seems to not be run by Asians, so I approached with some skepticism, but we had a nice lunch here. I started with a small salad with very crisp cold greens and a nice dressing, somewhat lighter but more complex than the traditional ginger dressing. Their twist on sushi is that they also offer tacos. I wondered what a sushi taco would be like, but it turns out it's just a regular crispy corn tortilla shell filled with whatever sushi item you select. I tried the tuna taco, and the tuna quality was excellent. The crunchy taco pretty much instantly self destructed, but the combination was good. The real highlights here are the "Temaki" hand rolls, though. My salmon skin hand roll was the best I've had anywhere, and I've had a lot of them: plenty of crispy salmon skin with some flavorful meat still attached, well mixed with the rice so I didn't run out of salmon skin as I ate my way to the bottom of the well-stuffed roll. Lunch here includes your choice of any two items from an extensive list of tacos, hand rolls and conventional maki rolls, plus soup or salad, all for $8.95. An excellent deal. I came here on a Monday night. It was unusually busy. This restaurant is pretty small and cramped when crowded. A lady came in with a stroller and almost had no room to put her stroller. In another table, there was a baby on a carrier that was placed on the floor. Also, it was very loud at the time. This is a Brazilian/sushi establishment. Our service was not good and the waitress was not attentive at all. When we came in, we weren't greeted or told to take a seat. When we sat down, we had to ask them to give us the menu. We also had to flag them to take our order. One waiter was socializing in one table and the other was scrambling. This should not be a problem in a tiny restaurant. We ordered Gyoza as our appetizer. There were pretty small and too crunchy than other fried gyoza I tried. Even though there were seven little pieces, I would have preferred 4 big usual sizes. They were too small to have a full taste. I did love my Volcano Roll and my bf ordered Harumaki sushi and it was quite tasty. Definitely recommend to order take out. Apparently, they get swamped with take outs as I saw a lot of people coming in and out for picking up. Might explain why it was noisy besides the restaurant being full as well. I've been twice since they opened the beginning of October and it's consistently great! * FOOD // Try the Tataki starter, paired with the Fruity Sakerinha (saké served caipirinha style) you won't be disappointed! The salmon in the tataki is cooked for only 5 seconds, rolled in sesame seeds and served with a nice light sauce. The cook on the salmon adds a nice nutty flavor. New to the menu is their salmon and cream cheese croquettes! This fried salmon croquette is crunchy, salty, full of umami flavor; you might wonder how they disappear so quickly! * We had the combo and you really get to try some of everything and the portions are very generous! They have a roll called the Djo (pronounced Jo) that has the fish rolled around the rice and then is topped with your choice of a few items. We topped with the seaweed salad and a traditional Brazilian favorite, the salmon cream cheese. * We love the HOT Philadelphia roll. Wanted some sushi for dinner. Found this place through yelp. I heard this was Brazilian sushi. The restaurant was small and packed. We asked if there was a wait. They waitress asked if we wanted to sit outside. We were hungry so we said yes. They set up some foldable table and chairs for is outside. She gave us menus to look over. Didn't set the table with silverware and napkins. Didn't ask for a beverage order. She came back a few minutes later for our food order and I then asked for water. We ordered 4 hand rolls. They were also bogo that night which was great. We got the spicy tuna, philly roll, mango and chile. The rolls were bland. Needed soy sauce and wasabi. Amazing place So sad to see some negative reviews about this location. The girls that work here are so patient and really helpful! Even when you ask twenty different questions they don't rush you or make you feel like you're annoying them. I usually get the hand roll (tamaki?) with just tuna and rice. They also have some really great deals if you come with a few people and order a big platter! They also offer gluten free soy sauce which is amazing for me and always a great bonus!
