Thought the reviews were ok enough to try. Was wrong. The curry I had was so lacking flavor, curry?! How do you make curry flavorless? The combo lo mien was absolutely the worst. Last the orange chicken while being the most flavorful of our dishes, was still not tasty. Won't be returning. Much better options for Thai food in the valley. read more

We had heard great things about Orchid Gardens, and we were not disappointed. It's a cute, restaurant that is bigger inside than I expected. We went for a late lunch/early dinner and it was not busy at all. The server was extremely nice. We really enjoyed our food. My husband had the Thai garlic chicken combo and I had the coconut chicken combo. Both were tasty. The coconut chicken was sweeter than I was expecting but I really enjoyed it. My husband enjoyed his garlic chicken as well. The potstickers and spring rolls were yummy and well cooked- not soggy at all or overly greasy. We will definitely come back. read more

With this being our first time at Orchid Gardens, we wanted to try varied dishes. We ordered pineapple fried rice, BBQ pork Singapore noodles, Pad Prik, and coconut shrimp, along with the obligatory egg rolls. Other than the egg roll, which were just typical, all the other dishes were well seasoned and prepared. The portions were, in my opinion, large. It was nice that neither the pineapple rice nor the shrimp were overly sweet like so many places. We will definitely be back sooner than later. read more

We got Tom khai gai soup which was really yummy. I am allergic to mushrooms they subbed bell peppers which was tasty. Definitely would get again. Egg flower soup & crab puffs are my son's favorite. We also had pineapple rice which was a sweet take with raisins & cashews & pineapple. Not much shrimp in it. I found 2 pieces but more chicken. General Taos chicken had the best sauce. The chicken lo menu was super yummy. Highly recommend this. Great flavor & perfect dente noodles. Thai tea was tasty. They were very kind & made my 20 month baby a soft fluffy egg omelette. It was perfect & he ate it all. Which was such a relief after a long 4 hr drive. The place was clean. Clean bathrooms, and inside decor of fake flowers. No dust. Interesting purple interior. Stopped in Medford for rest and was looking for seafood to munch on. Orchid Gardens was an option, and boy were we thankful. Nestled in Medford on the historic stretch of PCH highway, is a quaint Chinese eatery that over exceeded our expectations. Here's our review: Food: 9/10. We ordered the curry shrimp, and shrimp fried rice. Both were amazing. Ingredients were fresh and the shrimp was good. I just wish there were a few more crustaceans swimming in the curry sauce. Service: 8/10. Server was attentive and the food came out hot, ready for take away. Instead of offering the menu, or water, I would have served without asking. Still, great service. Ambiance: 8/10. small, beautiful location.. well lit and decor all around. The kitchen is located centrally which makes it easier to serve guests. Medford is a nice slice of the northwest, this added to the score. All in all, I would eat here again because the food is hot and tasty. If you're feeling Chinese, try some hot and fresh Chinese food from Orchid Garden; instead of the heat lamp commercial chains around. read more

With all the great reviews I had hoped I had stumbled across a hidden gem, but unfortunately the food was mediocre. Flavors were muted and required use of all the sauces they provide plus some. Our group tried the orange chicken combo, sweet & sour chicken combo, chef special combo, fried rice and crab puffs. I'm told the fried rice and egg drop soup were good, but everything else was underwhelming. As much as I want to support a small local restaurant, this was my first and last visit to Orchid Garden. Great shrimp Pad Thai and fried rice, but the beef dish i had had great flavor but the beef had a taste like it had been refrigerated. Small clean restaurant. Staff was friendly. Food was good, however there was something burnt in the Mongolian beef. The burnt flavor was overtaking the flavor of everything else. We could tell the food was probably good, just a little burnt. My only other suggestion would be to put more meat on the main dish. The Mongolian Beef was missing the beef. Ordered thru Door Dash. Order said it was ready in app at 3:10 PM. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes and finally received my order at 4:25 PM. Everyone else who ordered pickup did not wait this long. If you are running a restaurant and it's too busy to keep up with orders you should temporarily disable Door Dash orders! Today for the first time, they got something wrong and sent some weird shrimp dish instead of the normal (D) Salt and Pepper Dishes shrimp that I always get. I called the restaurant to see if they were maybe out of the shrimp and that is why they substituted. The lady I spoke to was SO RUDE and basically said I was lying. She insisted it was the same dish (which I can assure you it was not). I even offered to purchase the dish again if she could ensure me that it would be prepared as usual. Instead of agreeing she just argued with me and said I was wrong. I literally ordered from this place twice a week. She singlehandedly lost my business. We had both the hot and sour soup and the egg drop. Both were about what we expected which was a relief because sometimes restaurants out here through we curves like having a bunch of sugar in a soup. The rest of the food was about the same. It was simply flavored takeout food for a general audience. The vegetables, though, were cooked perfectly--still with some crunch to them so you know they are fresh.
