I am happy I found out about Dillon and his shop. First off Dillon is very nice and very communicative. I first communicated with him through email and discussed what I was interested in getting. Once the appointment is scheduled he has a great system that sends reminders. The shop is located in the second floor of the building complex behind the 'Something Vegan' restaurant. Everything in the shop is very clean, decorated and laid out very well. I have been through many artist and Dillon is up there in terms of how collaborative he is with the client, checking up on you as he is tattooing, and the tools he is uses. This place is everything you never knew you wanted in a tattoo studio. It's bright, quiet, calm, and impeccably clean. (OK maybe you already knew you wanted that last one). I felt very relaxed the second I walked in. A huge part of that is thanks to Dillon's warm, friendly presence, but the aesthetic and design of the actual space plays a role as well. It feels very much like home, but a home where maybe Sherlock Holmes and Thomas Edison were roommates and went through a goth phase. And every word of that is meant to be a compliment. It's organized, particular, and artistic, which are pretty great qualities in a tattoo artist. It was reassuring to see that reflected in the physical space. Getting tattooed is often just about the end result. You just want your tattoo, right? This whole experience, from discussing design to walking out the door, was memorable. You can really tell that Dillon cares about the entire process and that he understands that, even though he does this every day, you probably don't. I don't care how many tattoos you have, when you think about it, it is a pretty crazy thing to just let a stranger draw on you in permanent ink! Some level of trust and respect has to be established pretty quickly and he's really perfected that process. You get the feeling that he truly appreciates the opportunity to share his art, and he's not just trying to get you in and out and take your money. A truly amazing experience, beginning to end.
