Have been going here for over 25 years. Had a friend in from out of town and brought him along with my wife to the Chart House last night. Over 20 minutes to get a drink. The apps came out before our cocktails. Ordered another round and after 15 minutes just asked for the check. Took another 10 to get the check. Terrible service very disappointing. Talked to the manager, he apologized and gave us a gift card for next time and asked us to be patient as he is making changes. It was really a shame as we were really looking forward to there great food. This place has been great over the years but they need some help. read more

This place was amazing. We were in town for a gymnastics meet and came here with my kids and parents for a nice meal. Menu is extensive and dining room has amazing views. Service was a bit slow but honestly, our waiter's charm and personality more than made up for it. The owner (manager) even alerted our party to an upcoming rocket launch which we were able to view from our table. As for the food... AMAZING!!!! My whole family loved the calamari- spicy. Best we ever had!!!! We had steak, salmon, lobster you name it! Dinner did not disappoint. This place really was that good. Although it was a bit pricey, it was worth the splurge. As you can tell by the pictures our crew ordered a variety of dishes. All very good and well worth the price. Our waitress and all the staff was very kind. I did not get a picture of the lava cake, that thing was devoured before I thought to get one. I would highly recommend this place for some of the best food your mouth will ever taste. read more

Family came here for Christmas Dinner and not one person left dissatisfied. I personally had the Surf n Turf and it was literally the best medium filet I've ever had, seasoned to perfection, tender and juicy. A few couples got the For Two drink flights and also enjoyed. Only negative was my dessert came cold, not warmed like it should. We waited a while for our dessert to get to the table, so I had to take it home and rewarm it to enjoy. But otherwise our waiter and any other staff that addressed us were very patient and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend Chart House and would definitely come here again. read more

Came here with a friend for dinner. Saw the reviews were mixed, but I thought I would give it a shot anyways in judge for myself. I should've listened to the reviews. It took forever to eat here. If you have two or three hours to do nothing come here and eat.waited 20 minutes to get a Diet Coke, she asked if he wanted bread for the table and that came almost 40 minutes later. The filet mignon came out overcooked, but I didn't want to send it back because it would be another hour. It took two hours to get the food and eat. The weight staff is not attentive. I had to keep asking for a refill on my Diet Coke, and it would sit there empty she would walk by and not even notice. the prices are charged here is definitely not worth the poor experience. The restaurant was quite empty and I can understand why. The table next to us had two children with them and they were complaining as well. We left and they were still waiting for their desserts, and they were saying how it was so late that they're not even going to eat them. Wow!!!! What a disappointment tonight!! Although our server was amazing, she could not control the awful food experience we had tonight. The Salad Bar which is $13.50 with an entree or $27 as an entree is sub par to say the least. Serving utensils that are never wiped down during the evening, let alone no hand sanitizer for people to use in the beginning is just plain gross. Watery end cuts of romaine, non replenished toppings, absolutely nothing special to justify this up charge .., unless you want to highlight the ridiculously salty "caviar"... The entree arrived an hour later... ordered the grilled mahi with mixed vegetables and mango salsa. Pretty basic and safe... Wrong!! The fish was so over cooked and dry that the tasteless salsa couldn't hide it. Couple that with Raw vegetables. Sorry I'm just not a fan of raw thinly sliced fingerling potatoes, hard green beans, and asparagus stalks (no tips). Needless to say, it went back and I won't be going back!! A spectacular place to dine in by the marina! The scenery is great, right by the water. If your in the mood for seafood this would be the place. Their key west spiced grouper did not disappoint. I really liked the mango sticky rice it came with, it was extraordinary good. To top it off, their mud pie was delicious for dessert! read more

I took my wife and several friends to the Chart House Daytona Beach to celebrate her birthday. It was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was not very busy. We were promptly seated by a less than happy looking host followed by an introduction to our waiter. Our drink order took longer than usual to be delivered. The menu was explained clearly and our order was taken. One of our guests requred a vegan order that was custom make for her. Our waiter was very good and attentive but food and drink service was rather slow. We have eaten here numerous times previously and have always had a good meal with excellent service. However, this time was a big dissappointment. The vegan meal was undercooked with brocolli so tough it could not be cut with a dinner knife. I had ordered and looked forward to the halibut which seemed way over cooked and extremely dry. The sauce, while tastey, did little to help the texture of the usually delicut fish. My wife had the Austrailian Lobster tail. It was tough and difficult to get the meat out of the tail. The other meals, mahi and a filet steak were reported as good. While the ambiance of the Chart House is always enjoyable as is the selection of speciallity drinks, this evening was disappointing. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant. It's not in the main hub of Daytona so it's nice and quiet with a great view. We made reservations for 5 at 6:30 and were seated on time. Our server was excellent. Friendly, informative, and kind. The food was amazing! My son was extremely pleased to have prime rib on the kids menu. My daughter said it was the best cheeseburger she's ever had. My husband and mother both got the prime rib as well and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Mahi and it was perfect. We finished with the chocolate lava cake. The kids devoured it. Nicely priced cocktails, wine, and beer alongside an assortment of interesting apps in a marina setting makes for a good combination of food and atmosphere. We went out to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. The evening started off wonderfully with everyone wishing us a happy anniversary. They specially asked over the phone if you are making reservations for a special occasion, so they are very thoughtful in that respect. We even received a card. Then the wait. We were there for over 2 hours, which isn't the issue except for why we were there that long. 1) Our waiter, Zac, was kind and respectful, but my water was empty most of the evening. He would visit our table two to three times before our waters would be refilled. Huge no-no in the industry. 2) We waited a long time before anything arrived. Our drinks, our initial waters, our appetizer, our food, etc. Everything just seemed slow. Again, if that was their intention, to leave us alone, they succeeded. 3) To give some background on the next comment, I'll add some background. My wife works for an Executive Chef from Chicago. He catered for Oprah, and the Chicago Bulls frequented his restaurant. He knows a thing or two. Therefore, when my wife asked for a medium well filet (yes, even I cringe, that's how she likes it prepared), We didn't think twice other than knowing a good Chef will cringe. It came out so overcooked and dry. Almost like going to McDonald's and asking for a steak, I'd imagine they wouldn't know the difference in temperature. It was as if the chef said, "F### you for ordering this wrong." 4) I had a clear view of the kitchen. I could read the chef's lips, and he began to throw things when the steak came back. Another 20 minutes before her steak came back. It was overcooked again, but not dry. We politely smiled, took our stuff to go, and left. 5) I had the Cantonese Sea Bass. There was so much soy ginger sauce I could not differentiate the flavors of the boy choy or the peppers. The Sea Bass was dry. It all tasted like soy and ginger sauce. 6) The plates came out extremely hot. That's an indication of them sitting under a heat lamp for too long. My wife's boss always replates the hot food to a warm plate. That's professional. It probably continued to cook the entrees due to the length of time the plates of food were under the hot lamps. To be fair, the evening ended with a free anniversary dessert. It was delicious. The appetizer was excellent. But I didn't come for a free dessert and an excellent appetizer. There was no discount for our wait or troubles. All in all, I will not go back. It definitely needs some better training, more attentive staff, and much better food. read more

A little bit underwhelming.... very pricey...my salmon dish was good. My wife's hemingway dish was not warm enough and rather bland for a signature dish and about $40. Kimchi app was weak. Lava cake average. Old fashioned was good, margarita and mojito weak. Just nothing fantastic for the price. Waiter was ok. Need to step it up some. Came here for drinks and dinner to celebrate a good friends birthday. We had reservations for 7:30 PM and everyone arrived on time we had requested a table for eight near a window overlooking the harbor. The table we wanted wasn't available so we decided to wait and walked downstairs to the bar. We grabbed a couple of high top tables and a cocktail. I ordered my usual Ketel One Martini a little dirty up with a trio of olives and wasn't disappointed. After about 30 minutes of enjoying our cocktails and walking out on the deck overlooking the water we were summoned our table was ready. We were seated exactly where we had requested and then greeted by our server (she did an excellent job) for a second round of drinks and a few bottle of choice wines we started with a nice Pinot Noir and had a few bottles of Cabernet opened for our dinner, lucky one of our friends is our wine guy at any outing and his selection as always was spot on. We all ordered salads or appetizers I choice to build my own at the salad bar and it was a great choice since the selection is fresh and there are lots of options. After a toast of champagne to honor our friend we placed our dinner orders there are lots of great choices but the Alaskan Halibut was calling out to me, now for the reason for the three star review which is very disappointing since the evening was definitely building up to an easy five star review evening. No only was my Alaskan Halibut ($37.00) extremely small (see picture attached) it was destroyed on the grill it was so dried out it was disgusting well if you have been paying attention we had already been here quite awhile and I wasn't going to spoil the evening by sending my entree back being the wait for our dinners took quite awhile as it was. Everyone else seemed to be pleased and I was fortunate that I was offered to share a piece of the Blackened Red Snapper served at the table. That confirmed that I ordered badly. We were probably the last table to walk in on a Friday night close to 10:00. The place was pretty empty by this point, but I didn't get the feeling that we were being rushed, which I can't stand. On the menu, I immediately spotted the 18 oz. prime rib (the Callahan), which I asked to be served rare. When the waiter brought it out (after he had already served the snapper and the creamed spinach separately - a big no no, in my book), his words were: "you're in luck! This was the last piece. It's an end cut." Anyone who knows the least bit about prime rib ought to know that there is no such thing as a rare end cut. There's barely such a thing as a medium-well end cut. Folks, poor Callahan didn't show me the slightest bit of pink, let alone red. The waiter - who should have first told me all that was left for prime rib was well done before even serving it to me - at least recognized there was something wrong by the look on my face and took it away. He asked what I wanted instead, to which my response was "the New York strip." Now, onto setback #2 ... Prior to ordering the prime rib, I inquired about the Steak & Pappardelle Pasta (grilled NY strip, mushroom cream sauce & chévre cheese). I even asked how many ounces the strip was. By stating I wanted "the New York strip," I was referring to the Steak & Pappardelle Pasta, but I instead got the 14 oz. New York strip with mashed potatoes, which is listed in the menu directly above the Steak & Pappardelle Pasta. I'll take the blame on this hiccup for not making myself clear about what I wanted, but at this point in the evening (around 10 PM), I wasn't about to send a second dish back to the kitchen. In hindsight, I should have known not to trust the waiter's intuition given the prime rib fiasco. At least the snapper and cream spinach were good, as was the strip and the mashed, despite the latter not being what I wanted. read more

Came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary a few months ago. We ordered two prime ribs which were both overcooked. Upon deciding to just take them home, the waiter who took our dishes to box them threw everything away aside from the meat. All of the sides on our plates were not in the box when we got them. Places can get a little crazy on New Year's Eve but the chart house proved that it can run like a well oiled machine. Service was great. Food selection was good with the abbreviated holiday meal menu and the atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be revisiting the chart house soon. read more

While visiting, we thought this would be a great spot for a nice dinner. When we arrived, the ambiance was great, however, the food was sub par. We ordered the crunchy tuna for an appetizer which was really good, however, the entrees were VERY disappointing. We both ordered off the "Chart Your Course" part of the menu and the salad we got was good, but everything else was terrible. I got the miso maple glazed salmon and it tasted like you were having salmon pancakes...two things that should not go together. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp pasta and the so called "sauce" it was cooked in tasted like sea water. No flavor at all. The shrimp were over cooked and the meal lacked pizazz. Super over priced for what you're getting. If you're looking for a nice place for dinner, there are WAY better places to choose from. You can get two really good meals for the price of what you pay here. read more

The Chart House is a good restaurant with a view of the Intracoastal River. Downstairs one does not need reservations, however the main dining room (with the nice view) reservations are recommended. When you start to order don't forget the chocolate lava cake. It is made to order so the kitchen needs all the time you are eating to prepare this delightful dessert. Also for starters the Chart House's calamari is one of the best I have had. They include tempura carrots and other veggies to put their calamari over the top. I've always said "if you hook them with a great starter and finisher- that's all they will remember." Their entrees are also amazing. We have enjoy almost everything on their menu. The filet was perfect so was their lobster and mahi. Once you go to the Chart House you will return tint and time again. read more

How does a gorgeous place like this employ such horrendous waiters? Our waitress was horrible, I'm not even exaggerating here. My husband, who's much more easy going, was disgusted with how this girl spoke to us. The waiters horrible attitude completely overshadowed the food, which I would rate 3.5/5. Crème brûlée was the best part, which she forgot to bring out completely. The manager brought it out, we didn't even bother addressing this experience with management. We were that done. We have been going to the Chart House for years and until today it was our favorite restaurant in the Daytona area. Our server, Shannon had a terrible nasty edge to her, her manner was clipped, abrupt, harsh and very defensive. She didn't want us to get a little taste of the two soups and said she would have to clear it with the chef and manager, and we have never had a restaurant balk at our tasting items like that before, especially there. She returned with my wife's wine glass and my wife tried to be friendly by saying "there she is" and she quickly replied, "I wasn't gone that long." When she left then she said she would be back soon as possible since it appeared "we were in a hurry," which couldn't have been further from the truth. Her comments and tone were totally unacceptable yet when the manager, Jason came to our table he tried to defend her and said, "well I wasn't here to see what took place." He was one of the worse managers we have seen in any restaurant ever in terms of his communications and demeanor. When I went to this site, I was not surprised that the Chart House now has a 3-star rating. What happened to this place? The manager didn't even want to give us a new server until we insisted, and things went much better after that. The offensive and unfriendly manner towards the guests seems to start at the top and I hope doesn't go all the way up to corporate level. We aim to find out. read more

There were three of us dining; we ordered two salad bars, one chop salad, one cup of soup, an appetizer, one glass of wine, one, soft drink, and one mixed drink. Our bill totaled $150 with tip. For three salads and a cup of soup and an appetizer that wasn't very good. The selection at the salad bar was very limited and very poor. The chop salad the ingredients must've cost $1.15, considering how small it was. And the food quality was not very good. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Came here for the first time. Now, I've been to The Chart House in Ft Laud and PR, so I know what to expect. It's been a long while since but here we go. We ordered the Lobster bisque, Kimchi Calamari, Crab cake. For our entree, we ordered the Twin Lobster Trails and Spicy Tuna. Dessert, we ordered the Lava Cake. First off, the soup was very tasty. Skimpy on crab but very good. Crab cake was pretty thick and good. It had whole corn as a filler. Never had that but each place is different. Kimchi calamari, not what you would expect. Not spicy. No Kimchi, sort of. Onion, carrot and a few other filters. Some sort of sweet chili sauce. All was good. Twin trails were, as expected. Could have had a little more garlic butter but not bad. Broccoli with this meal missed the mark. Very plain, little flavor. It comes with mashed potatoes, although they gave us fries. The Spicy Tuna. Seared tuna with rice and two different sauces. One of sesame and the other of Wasabi. Not real spicy but good. Not allot of Tuna but just enough. All was good for sure. We finished with a Lava Cake. (Hint: if you think your gonna get the Lava Cake, order it when you get your entree. It takes 15-20 min to bake. ) This is were the service went down hill. Our waiter was obviously busy. There was an obvious delay in him coming and filling out drinks or checking on us. When he finally brought our cake, it was cold and it took about 20+mins from when we finished our meal and they cleared the table. This time, it was OK only because we used it to talk business. Anyway, the entire meal was excellent. Good food. Fresh fish. First time we dressed up in 3 months due to covid. It was fun. Remember, this place is alla cart. Beware. My mother chose this as her restaurant of choice to celebrate her birthday. She has been several times, but I have never eaten here, so I read reviews before going. I didn't have high expectations. I am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. We went early, with reservations and were seated immediately. Our drink order was taken promptly by a delightful and courteous server, Austin. He took our dinner order and appetizers were served quickly. They were delicious! Our meal came out much sooner than I expected and the presentation was exceptional. It was hot and more importantly, one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. My steak melted in my mouth. I was truly impressed. If. had any negative, I would say the dessert left a bit to be desired. The "lava" cake wasn't very lava-y. The center wasn't gooey at all. I will say one was enough to feed two to three people. My husband got the meal where dessert was included so he got a smaller one which was more than enough for the two of us. My parents and brother split had a larger one and had difficulty finishing it. Overall, I would rate this five star without hesitation. One thing to note is I did look online at their menu before going, so I noticed they had any "early-bird" menu. When we got there, they only gave us the regular menu, despite getting there right when they opened. My father had to specifically ask for the early menu. The prices are significantly less and compared to the food my brother got off the "regular" menu, I noticed no difference in quantity. read more

We have always had a good experience at the Daytona Chart House. Thus we were quite surprised last night (Valentine's Day) when we didn't. The restaurant was crowded so we excused the slow service. The waitress did a great job but we waited and waited for everything even the drinks. Our companions were great company so the wait was tolerable. But the food when it did come was tasteless. I'm from Washington, DC and I frequent The Chart House in Alexandria, VA. I love the restaurant and have always been satisfied UNTIL I came to The Chart House in Daytona. Maybe I should have lowered my expectations and I wouldn't have been so disappointed. 1. My waitress. Kelly, took her time and there was long waits until we saw her again. 2. Kelly was not helpful or friendly, we felt rushed. 3. My shrimp was dry and overcooked. 4. I ordered dessert around 6:30 and the waitress said they didn't have any...2 minutes later the table next to me has the dessert. Go figure, who knew they run out of food 3 hours before closing time. I gave 2 stars because the margarita was great! If you want a nice view with average food, poor service, and waste money then make reservations here. read more

DISAPPOINTED: The Chart House website says happy hour 7 days a week. NOT TRUE AS YOU WILL FIND OUT WHEN TOURIST ARE IN TOWN. We went to enjoy a happy hour drink with another couple and dinner after. We arrived about 5 PM. I asked for a happy hour menu and was told, sorry not today as there is a race this weekend. The GM Jason came over and was less than helpful with a flat NO. It's sad the tourist are more important than the locals. Think twice about visiting this location. We got up and left, went to Top if Daytona and had a great happy hour drink and dinner. Terrible service. I have never had a Prime Rib that was tough but the Prime Rib at the Cart House is inedible.

So I've been here twice. One time it was a 3 but last night it was a 4, so I decided to go with my most recent experience. Beautiful location. Service is a little slow. Nice seafood menu. Great apps. Fresh salad bar. Nice place for dinner date or business meeting. The frites are just fries, skip them and order something healthier. Prime rib way too fatty. Fish is excellent. read more

Went to celebrate our 30th anniversary and a friend's birthday. This establishment has lost their right to claim 'a fine dining restaurant'. Absolutely nothing was 'fine' about our evening - we were promptly seated; however, 20 minutes passed before our server showed up, another 25 minutes before our drinks arrived (we have now been there 45 minutes), dinner orders taken (still no offer of their complimentary bread), server comes back 20 minutes later to advise that the main entree ordered for 3 of us was no longer available (2nd choices had to be made by 3 of us), after being there 90 minutes soup arrives, soup gets finished and our server comes to advise the side orders of mashed potatoes were no longer available and we had to order a substitute. Worst dining experience ever and the four of us will not return. read more
