Great location on the water, but the service was terrible and food mediocre. We came here on a Sunday evening. We had reservations for 7:15. We arrived around 7, and they couldn't seat us. When 7:15 rolled around, they still couldn't seat us because the table before has not yet left. Ugh. Our server was fine, except he was slow and often disappeared for long periods of time. We actually ended up grabbing anyone we saw when they walked by because we needed assistance. The food was mediocre and took a long time to prepare. The crab cakes were super salty, the salmon and gnocchi were only okay - gnocchi were super chewy/gummy. The halibut pan seared was was dry and rough. The parmesan crusted fish was okay, but the coconut/ginger rice was not that tasty. The meat dishes were fine. So in comparison, we were disappointed that a restaurant by the water had bad seafood. Prices were high and not worth it in my opinion. Parking - no valet. Good luck finding parking in the area! Dresscode - CONFUSING. Some people wore jeans and flip flops. We were dressed up nicely. Had our anniversary dinner on 9/19. We made a reservation. Morgan was our server for the evening. I don't have pictures of the entrees. Our food was delicious as we had two chart your course dinners. The view is absolutely breath taking! It is perfect to watch the sun set and sailboat races on Wednesday evenings in the summer months!! Call ahead for a reservation in the dining room or eat in the bar area (I couldn't tell that much difference between the dining area and the bar except you are closer to the windows in the dining area, but I still felt like I had a great view and experience in the bar seating area. Plus you can order off the happy hour menu from 4:30 to 7 in the bar area!) The waitresses and waiters are fantastic too. Anytime someone walked by and saw we didn't have water they refilled our glasses. They gave us plenty of time to order and never did we feel rushed during or dining experience. The inside of the dining area is beautiful and very clean. The food was good. Not spectacular or anything special but good! We had shrimp tacos and ahi tuna nachos for appetizers. Both were good. The server removed our food to prepare our to-go boxes and mixed up our food. My friends and I were driving in separate cars and are at least 45 mins away from each other. If preparing to-go boxes is going to confuse the servers stop removing food from the table and allow the guests to prepare their own meals. They also placed my friend's to-go bag on the floor. An empty chair at our table would have be more appropriate. A $50 meal I purchased is now wasted because it wasn't it the bag that was given to me. read more

we ordered a $50 steak medium. it arrived very rare, cool in the middle. we were told (we didn't ask) that a manager would be right over to "make it right, " which didn't happen. but some did come over and offer us dessert--and the $26 for a piece of pie did not in fact, appear on our bill. but they never said anything about the steak or re-cooked it. the ambiance was fun. but we also had sea bass grilled ($56) which was just ok. all in all, dinner for 4 with cocktails was around $600 (with tip)--intact, it was worth half that. will not go back. read more

My girlfriend and I had our 1 year anniversary dinner here. When we arrived, the staff had made us custom menus with "happy 1 year anniversary" at the top of them and they rapped them up in a nice ribbon for us to keep. The service was immaculate, kind, caring and personable. We were seated right away, wine and food cake out right on time. My girlfriend had the filet mignon and I had the lemon parmigiana salmon, which both were incredible. Followed it up with the chocolate molten cake which was to die for. The atmosphere is so unique, warm and quiet. Amazing view of the water and boats. Definitely a 5 star place, anything less and people are lying. Will definitely be going here again. read more

My cousin gave her 50th birthday here. She reserved a private area, which was setup really nice. The hostess at the front did not greet us at all. They did not ask did we need help. We had to ask where the event was being held. Once we found the designated area. It was setup really nice, the waiters were great. They were very attentive the entire time. It's in a great location, but they need more parking for the restaurant. The quality of the food is why it got such low rating. The food should be better, since the prices are not cheap. The fish tasted like frozen filet, and the crab cake was awful. The dessert was the best thing the molten lava cake. The stars are did the waiters service only. The gave great customer service. Mother's Day was a bust. First ... they had a prix fixe menu which is not ideal when bring your children for MOTHER'S DAY! It is not ideal to have to pay $70 for a child and items they likely won't/don't eat. Second ... my mother's sea bass was bite size at best. Third ... my father's steak was not cooked as requested and they literally asked, "do you want me to take it back and put back on the stove for a few more minutes". Ummmmm no I want it prepared how I asked and brought out to me. I'm not the chef. And fourth ... my chimichurri steak and shrimp came with NO chimichurri. When my son walked around to find our waiter, he brought my sauce, then I realized ... hey ... I didn't get any shrimp. My son goes to find him again and he says "oh yeah, I thought it should have come with shrimp" then he brings a small plate with 3 small shrimp. I came here for a dinner party and the dining view is breathtaking of the bay. The restaurant has tall windows for you to see out from different angles. I love the ambiance and decor. It's cozy and elegant. The food was expensive and not much food diversity, however the quality was good and the food tasted good too. I brought the hummus platter and it was very different. There were a lot of events going on there that night but it wasn't very loud that you couldn't hear people from your table. Hosts takes your coat at the door. Honestly I had very high expectations because of what I had seen but the food was just ok. We drove an hour and booked our brunch reservation two weeks in advance, when we got there they sat us down right away. I got an crab Benedict w/ hash browns. The crab was good but one of the eggs had an overcooked yolk but the white was runny(I don't even know how that happens) and the other egg was just overcooked and rubbery. Plus the hash browns were incredibly salty and I had to ask three times before they gave me my drink. The only reason I didn't score it lower was because the building is beautiful read more

I absolutely love when a staff take the time to review specials, how foods are prepared, and their favorite dish and why. This was the happiest day of my life. My fiancé surprised me here with our proposal. The service he/we received there...horrible. They were not accommodating, unhelpful, and lack-luster staff. He mentioned that Sunday brunch just ended. Well, we were seated for over 30 minutes. Why not tell us that? 5) We ordered fries to come before our meals--guess what? That was the last thing to come after asking 3 times!! 6) We ordered three Faux-itos. Which consists of fresh raspberries, blueberries, mint, lime sparkling mojito mix. We were given powdered lemonade!! POWDERED LEMONDADE--there wasn't even any fruit in it. We left it on the table. 7) They did absolutely nothing to accommodate 4 vegetarians. Suggest options or something. Sheesh! We asked to speak to the manager--no one came. You figured if you are accommodating that many people, and celebrating an event a manager would at least come over and congratulate you. NOTHING!! Though, we were on cloud 9, and didn't want it to let it continue rain on our parade, I figured I would call to let them know. I have put this place at the top of my list. It's now one of my favorites to visit. Everything was delicious. Staff was great I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Chart House. We did have a wait even though we had reservations but it's to be expected with the pandemic and limited space cleaning and all. We were served bread and water when we were seated. The chocolate bread as I call it was delicious the other two I was not found of. The waiter did tell us everything I. The kitchen was backed up and a wait so if we knew what we wanted best to put everything in at once. We had calamari which is to die for it held us over till dinner came. Saturday during Boat show weekend in Annapolis,. We were a party of 12. Our family of 3 was told to not arrive more than 15 minutes late for an 8:00 reservation or the whole table would lose its reservation. (That seemed odd.) However, they seated us at 8:30 pm. At around 9:00 pm our server proceeded to read the entire menu to us - two long pages. Never had this happen before, waiters might say what the special is but not read the entire menu. (I am sure they are told to do this by the corporate office.) He was of course stressing the most expensive items. We already knew what we were going to order. Took about 15 minutes to read the menu to us (and stressing to us if we wanted a particular desert at the end that took 30 minutes to order right then (we declined). The server finally took all of our orders. The food was served at 10:00 pm. So reservation at 8:00 pm and eating at 10:00 pm. We had King salmon which was very good - however not a single vegetable or rice/starch came with the 45 salmon (So the 1 star does not apply to how good the salmon was, but applies to the service, and what was included in our meal). I order the salmon salad that had a couple of asparagus and some potatoes for an extra $3 (making my meal $48), others in the party had prime rib. The ambiance had a pulsating music. The menu, ambiance and time it took to get served was all different from last year at the exact same boat show time. It looks like some serious change in management. Not coming back. I have LOVED Chart House since 2010, but it's gone down hill since they became "Prime." The hostess cancelled my reservation at check in, which resulted in a half hour of my party standing in the lobby while every single other group was taken to their table. Eventually, the hostess came and asked for my name again and we were seated shortly after. While the service after being seated was fine, I miss the old Chart House. The food was decent, but nothing spectacular as it used to be. It sits on the water which provides a great backdrop for photos The Chart House has been a staple in celebrating birthdays or a quick dinner date with hubby. Views of Annapolis Harbor cannot be better but the seafood could. I have lived in Annapolis all my life and have dinner at the Chart House too many times to count. I found the last several times we have dinned here the food has not lived up to the reputation and our expectations, however, the costs have risen substantially. We ordered the crab dip, not fresh but fishy and not much crab at all. I had the sea bass with the lobster risotto. The risotto was also fishy and the sea bass I am 99% sure was a frozen filet. Sea bass is my favorite fish and this one ranks about a 5; at $56 a plate, I would expect much higher quality. My husband ordered a steak and while he had no complaints I thought it looked desolate on the large white plate. I am not a fan of the typical parsley sprigg but at these prices, the chef could come up with a garnish that compliments the dish. At these prices, you are paying for the view. You will have a better meal at Lewne's or Ruth Chris and if you are looking for sea bass go to Osteria on Main Street, then go take in the harbor views at City Dock. The service was good I would give it a 9 out of 10, and one last observation, a dress code would be favorable. read more

Was a guest at the Chart House last night celebrating our anniversary. What was most extraordinary was that among our oysters on the half shell was one that was literally the size of a dime. That such a thing would be sent from the kitchen is upsetting but having a waiter find it amusing and doing nothing about it is outrageous. The tables at the Chart House are tightly packed to the point our waiter was reaching over my dinner plate to pour coffee and such for my dinner companion as access to her was blocked by guest at the next table. I was quite enjoying my company so the slow and occasional service was of minor concern. The problem it seemed was that there were 2 parties of 35 going on at the restaurant and the staff seemed not quite able to handle the situation. From a look at the menu the prices didn't seem excessive. Overall I had the impression no one much cared about the quality of the product and the experience. Visited here last week on a short vacation. The food was very good . Prices are expensive but I know seafood is not cheap . Place was not very busy as it was later in the dinner shift . Halfway through our dinner we noticed a tall table with a tray on top . The tray was loaded with plates , glasses , dirty napkins etc and half eaten food .
