I have a standing date night at this Ruth's Chris every Monday and the occasional Thursday. I cannot speak more highly of our bartender Jenn. Jenn has been exceptional over the last four years. Overly friendly with every guest that comes in. She has introduced myself and my partner to countless people which has helped build relationships within the community. I highly suggest if you are looking for exceptional food (especially the best burger in town). Sit at the bar Monday through Thursday and you will quickly realize why guests come for not just a great meal but to experience true hospitality where Jenn will make you feel as if you are part of the Eastport family. read more

We went for our anniversary. We thought we could use a e-gift card but it said zero balance when we've never used it before. We decided to stay & enjoy our anniversary dinner there since we've been discussing going for three months. Hopefully the card issue will be resolved in our favor. Anyway, our server was very good & our dinner was delicious. I recommend everything I have pictured plus the calamari (forgot to take a pic). We ordered the sweet potato casserole with pecan crust to go with our dinner the next day. WHEW that was too sweet straight diabetes. I have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions--both during happy hour and regular business hours and on each visit, I have experienced some form of racial discrimination or confrontational behavior from other patrons that I believe was racially motivated. The restaurant is located in a predominantly white and affluent neighborhood, and I have often been made to feel as though, as a Black patron, I am perceived as not belonging there or as not having the financial means or right to patronize the establishment. In the incidents referenced, the bartender and server were not aware of the full circumstances surrounding the interactions initiated by other patrons toward me. Nevertheless, they chose to involve themselves, form opinions, and make comments regarding the situation without a proper understanding of the facts. The conduct and remarks made by the patrons, as well as the actions of the bartender and server, were inappropriate and unjustified. At no point was there a valid reason for any party to address or treat me in the manner that they did. I will not return this restaurant nor spend my money where I am not welcome or felt wanted. Although the manager in several of the incidents apologized profusely and stated that it was not acceptable behavior on the patrons of the bartender JENNIFER and that he would speak with her and let her know it just wasn't acceptable. read more

The Pros: -they offer valet parking and the attendant Nathan was nice and had a good sense of humor -the seating upstairs was cozy and intimate -our Dining Concierge Anna was absolutely amazing! I hope it's enough room for all the wonderful things I have to say about this Ruth's Chris location! To begin, it was my Mothers 70th birthday and it was nothing short of amazing and beautiful. They seated us in a small private area which truly set the tone for the experience. The service was absolutely amazing and he did not miss a beat, cups were always full, bread/butter was consistently available, not one complaint. Now onto the food yum . Everything and I mean everything was delicious hot and my only complaint, I want more. We had everything from the Ribeye, stuffed chicken, NY strip, sweet potato casserole, brussel sprouts, creamed spinach. Oh and pro tip, get an extra side of stuffing with your stuffed chicken, chefs kiss! I cannot wait to visit this location again!! read more

I am at "Ruth Chris" on Severn Avenue is Annapolis Md. and this is the Absolutely the best Steak house I have been to so far...I know they work for tips but the staff sincerely are the friendliest most accommodating staff that I have ever come across, if you ever visit here ask for "Josh" he is the greatest waiter, and he really seems to understand his customers and anticipates they're needs. The food? WOW! Absolutely amazing! The tenderest Steak I have ever had, you could cut it with a fork, the potatoes were excellent. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere and ambiance are very accommodating and very well decorated, even our kids enjoyed it, they are 18 and 21. If you don't visit "Ruth Chris" in Annapolis, you will be missing out on the best food you have ever had. price? If I could give zero stars, I would. I've been to Ruth's Chris locations from Ft Lauderdale to Connecticut and this is by far the worst. Today's visit was the third strike - and frankly, we have given them more chances than we would have otherwise, simply because they are a Ruth's Chris. Truth is, we would not have been back after the first visit of most other places. During our first visit, my wife got food poisoning. Our second visit was years later and we felt that things would be better and, while nobody got sick, my wife's steak was very bad. It seemed as though there was something wrong with the steak itself, from a flavor and texture perspective. Today's visit really solidified for us that something is wrong with this location. My steak - a filet - was prepared too rare. My wife's meal was also not to the right temperature. In addition, the fries were so soggy it gave the impression that they had been left in grease over night. Just... gross. As we were seated at the bar during happy hour, we assumed that we would have gotten more attentive service, but that was a bad assumption. Bartender, Lorraine, seemed disinterested in serving us, despite the relatively low number of other customers at the time. While we are likely to visit other Ruth's Chris locations in the area, such as Odenton or Baltimore City, we will never go back to this one. read more

Wanted a great steak and was in Annapolis so what better place to go than Ruth Chris. Was greeted timely by the hostess and seated immediately. Fresh warm bread with butter was served within a few minutes along with my black cherry old fashioned which was subtly sweet and delicious. Started off with the French onion soup which was hot, oniony and delicious. Ordered the petite ribeye steak with a side of béarnaise sauce (that never came) but luckily the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The side of lyonnaise potatoes were hella good and needed nothing else but to get in my BELLY!! Lastly, I finished it off with the warm apple crumb which looked like a mini deep dish apple crumb pizza that was AMAZING. A fantastic experience and dinner at the Chris! read more

I will not be going back to Ruth's Chris in Annapolis. We had a reservation for 7:00 p.m., and arrived at 7:00 p.m. We were not seated until 7:40 p.m. We were not the only ones. In fact, the entire lobby was full of people with 7:00 p.m. reservations who also were not seated until very long after 7:00 p.m. When I asked why this was happening, I was told by staff that it is because they have no control over how long people dining earlier will stay. I can understand why this might happen to one party, but not to an entire lobby of parties. On a more positive note, the food was good, and the service was prompt and efficient, though the server had no warmth whatsoever. To anyone reading this review, I recommend going to Lewnes just a block away. That's what I'll be doing in the future. They always honor the reservation time, and both the food and service are better. I know of no reason to ever return to Ruth's Chris. read more

It pains me to write this because I love Ruth's mainly because it's consistent. You know what to expect. However, last night at dinner I was left disappointed at the quality of my meal and hope this isn't a sign of Ruth's going down the same path of cutting corners that many other restaurants in this financial climate have unfortunately done. I don't mind paying more for a nice meal if it's worth it. I had a petite filet last night and let's just say it looked like a hockey puck. It should have been cooked med and was well done. The creamed spinach was watery and not at all what I am used to. The stuffed mushroom app and service was decent hence the 2 stars. After a conference in Annapolis, four friends and I came to Ruth's Chris for dinner and drinks. We started with a round or two at the bar along with an order of calamari. The drinks and appetizer were delicious but did not outshine the amazing service we received from the female bartender. She was super fun and social and made us all feel extremely welcomed. It was apparent that many of her customers were regulars as they knew each other by name although it was my first time here. We ultimately got a table to make it easier to talk. We were seated upstairs at a round table. I cannot recall the server's name but she was very attentive and provide excellent service. I ordered the smaller filet with a side of brussel sprouts. The rest of my party ordered steaks as well and everyone enjoyed them. I had the opportunity to try the sautéed mushrooms with my steak and they were so good. I highly recommend them as a side or as an addition to your steak. I ended up taking home two desserts, one for me and one for my husband. I had the flourless chocolate cake which I really enjoyed. He had the banana cream pie. I am not sure if it is not good to take home and not eat fresh in the restaurant but my husband did not enjoy it at all. He advised the consistency was odd and he ended up putting in the freezer to see if that would make it better but he ultimately tossed it. This place was definitely a POOR example of the brand!!! Both cowboy ribeyes were very tough. The 3 filet mignon were also tough? Au gratin potatoes were not fully cooked and potatoes were hard. $26 for 3 shrimp and absolutely a terrible value for the money. Even the asparagus were small and salad void of flavor. I went here a couple years ago during my birthday which so happens to be on New Years Eve. The place was crowded and even though we had reservations there was a wait which we didn't mind. We ended up being seated in a corner next to a big group that was loud and obnoxious. At some point they made racial comments about Asians in a manner that seemed like they wanted me to hear. It truly made our night uncomfortable as the close seating cuts both ways. As far as food goes the food was great. We ordered New Years 12 oz Ribeye and a filet. Also, we had Merlot and Malbec for our drinks. The meal was delicious. We probably won't be coming back on my birthday as the place is just overly packed and noisy to even have a conversation. My friend took me to Ruth Chris on Saturday night to celebrate my new role at my agency. We checked in a little before 7pm and they had a table available ready for us within minutes. I really wanted to sit outside but they didn't have anything available until 9pm. For my appetizer, I ordered the ahi tuna. It was a little salty. For my drinks, I had a coconut lemon drop and the House Malbec. It was delicious For our dinner, we ordered the Ruth classics. I had the lobster bisque. Being from New England it was delicious. For my entree, I had the 11oz filet cooked medium well. While the steak was cooked to my liking, Unfortunately, the steak didn't really taste too seasoned and it was just bland. Do not recommend this place if you have a food allergy. I have a dairy allergy and it was the first thing I stated so the server knew. Every time something was brought to my table I asked if it had dairy. For example, I asked if the bread was made with dairy and the server was hesitant and I just told him I won't eat it. Then my husband ordered the calamari and I asked how the batter was made and if it had dairy and again I got a very hesitant confused answer so again I just didn't eat it. Then when I ordered my steak I made it very clear, no butter. The server assured me that they take allergies very seriously and to not worry. Immediately after finishing my steak I did not feel well and asked my server if there was butter used and he began to apologize immediately. I initially gave her the benefit of the doubt, assuming she might have been having a bad day, but it's clear that her unwelcoming attitude is the norm. Exceptional service is part of what makes a high-end dining experience worthwhile, and she falls far short. My family usually goes to Ruth's Chris Gaithersburg or Bethesda, so this was our first time here. We were celebrating my little brother, who was heading off to the Air Force the following day. The server was very nice and made conversation with my brother about his service. I got the same thing I usually get at Ruth's Chris - a blueberry mojito and lobster mac and cheese. It was delicious as always! My family members were all happy with their steaks, although there seemed to be a consensus that the filet was better than the ribeye. I tried something new for dessert - I believe they called it a banana cream pie, but it was more like a bananas brulee of sorts. It was unique and tasty, but I was so full I couldn't finish it! We have lived here five years, but tonight was the first time we visited this Ruth's Chris location, although we have been to others. We are sold, and will return. The holiday decorations are lovely. We had an early reservation (before the holiday parade of lights boat show) & we were enthusiastically greeted by the young ladies at the hostess stand. Our table was upstairs, in a nice dining room. We were really pleased with both the food and the service. They have lots of staff, including runners and bus staff. Our server was Amethyst, and she was great. Our water glasses were never empty, and we did not have to wait long between courses. We ordered drinks, and then we started out with their new appetizer, the crab beignets. They were delicious, served over a bed of pickled cucumber and red onion, with a nice creamy Sriracha sauce. They brought out a basket with two types of bread. We actually planned a lighter meal, so no one ordered steak (next time). My husband's chopped salad was very attractively plated and very tasty. I ordered a vegetable plate, so I could try various sides. The cremini mushrooms come in a tasty veal demi glace. The au gratin potatoes were delicious. We finished up by sharing a creme brulee, which my husband thought was the best ever. So now we have a new favorite place to add to our dining rotation. read more

I have visited many Ruth's Chris across the country and have always been very satisfied with food, ambiance and service. This was the first time I felt compelled to comment and caution others. But, let me first start by saying that all the food was prepared perfectly, no complaints there. First, we had reservations, and when we arrived, the greeter basically just pointed to a table as if we were arriving at a breakfast diner. Second, we (2 couples) were seated near the bar area when other seats further in the restaurant were available. Third, they seated us directly next to a table with a very large and rowdy party when seats further away were clearly available. The noise in the room was deafening. After just a few minutes, my ears were ringing as if I was at a heavy metal concert. This was a dinner meeting and we were barely able to talk. We proceeded to order drinks, appetizers and entrees. Fourth the entire time we felt rushed to the point we had to tell every wait staff person to stop, give us few minutes and even ask them to go away. For example, taking plates away while we were still eating. Some of the staff clearly did not understand English, they would just smile and continue to take the plate requiring us to grab the plates from their hands. It was just a very strange experience.
