We had dinner at Chart House this past Sunday. It was a disappointment. The location is beautiful, but the food was below average. The restaurant tries to give a more sophisticated dining experience, but in the end, we want food that matches the ambient. I believe the salad should not be that difficult to get it right, well they didn't. Instead of chopped salad that claimed to have radish and hearts of palm, I got brownish, dried up chopped lettuce with a couple of tomatoes, some minuscules, and scant pieces of hearts of palm and radish. I thought I was buying a prepared salad at the supermarket. Yes, it was that bad. My father-in-law had a vegetable hash that was, again, soggy and did not look fresh. However, he did like the side of the mushroom, which was floating on butter. With that amount of butter, I couldn't taste the mushrooms at all. It took us one hour, after seating at the table, to get the food. I understand a lot of places are short-handed, but that was a little too long. Our waiter, Norman, was probably the only saving grace. He was friendly and tried his best. The problem is that a restaurant charges $45 bucks for an entree, claiming some sophisticated cuisine; this place fell short by a mile. It was our worst meal, the most expensive of our whole week. I honestly have zero complaints about this location. We got lucky and scored a window table overlooking the water at sunset. The food was DELICIOUS as always and the staff was friendly & efficient. My only gripe would be that the steak wasn't seasoned well. Luckily they give you a tasty dipping sauce for the steak. Without that I'm not sure I would have been impressed. I gave this place 4 stars due to the ambiance and excellent servers. The food is 3 stars. Overall the food was ok but nothing really shines. The fish was fresh but even thinking about it now, nothing stands out. I would avoid the gazpacho. It's like a fresh salsa with a spoonful of sour cream. If I could give less stars I would worse place I have been to in a long time. Thought it would be nice to take my uncle out to dinner with my parents. My mother tea cup still had red lips stick on it and my uncle's wine had a bug floating in it. The waiter apologizes and brought us new glasses. The lady at the front was very friendly, but once we were seated we waited for almost 10 minutes and no one came to wait on us, and never did. We didn't even have water in our glasses. Had a wonderful meal here! The space is gorgeous and you could watch the sun set from almost anywhere in the main dining area. We enjoyed selections from the extensive wine list and were given a chef's special prix-fixe menu to consider in addition to the regular menu. Always a fan of The Chart House. Annapolis location is a beautiful location. Very busy (and can be loud) atmosphere. Great place for big groups and friend get togethers. Highly recommend the salad bar - great variety of fruit and salad toppings, to include a small caviar bar. We usually never order the appetizers because we can immediately head to the salad bar after being seated at our table. My husband will always order the Callahan cut prime rib. Never disappointed. This past time I had their shrimp and pasta dish special. Very delish; fresh vegetable and large baked shrimp in a light white wine cream sauce. I also highly recommend their Coconut Shrimp and the Macadamia Nut Mahi Mahi. Both favs of mine Do not forget to pre-order their Molten Lava cake (so gooey chocolate!). You will not be disappointed. Fantastic recommendations for every course. The food was fantastic. The calamari... mmmm! Great way to start the meal. Great salad options or make your own at the salad bar. I normally don't go for salad bars or buffets, but this salad bar was well kept with nice offerings and clean. Rockfish was grilled to perfection. Don't leave without dessert! Full bait & switch by the restaurant advertising an evening of Caymus family wines....and arrived to learn that not only was a Wagner family member not attending but the "wine marketer" who was supposed to be presenting ws also not attending. The restaurant manager was nice who filled in but admitted to not having tasted some of the wines & not knowing very much. Food was ok but incredibly disappointing overall, esp to celebrate a special occasion. Do not sign up for any wine dinners unless you are promised more. Definitely an underwhelming experience and I was so disappointed. I was driven to try Chart House because of the great reviews and I was excited to try it. The restaurant itself was beautiful (though very chilly) and the views are awesome, the food was not. Being from the Pacific Northwest, I am accustomed to prawns or at least jumbo shrimp when ordering stuffed shrimp. Had to ask for ice water, so we sat with nothing except the rear end of a bar patron next to our table top. Bar is so ill designed and is crowded and difficult to maneuver. Very slow service. Had a few bites and just ate the luke warm carrots.The chopped salad was a disgrace, wilty, soggy, and brownish on edges of greens all over. Soo disappointed. I visited the Chart House for the first time this past weekend for a birthday. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I almost chose a different restaurant because they didn't offer outdoor seating, which to me was quite important given that it's May and the weather is beautiful. However, friends encouraged me to stay with this option because even though all seating is indoors, the views are gorgeous. They were right! I'd definitely plan to go back. For an appetizer, we got the shrimp cocktail. It was so fresh, and the shrimp were huge. For our dinner, I chose the Filet Mignon and my friend ordered the crab cakes. Both were perfectly seasoned and the steaming hot when the waitress delivered them to our table. All in all, we had a great experience and I highly recommend it. read more

We ate here for the first time tonight and had requested a window seat when we reserved on Open Table. When we arrived at our reservation time, the restaurant was busy, but we could see several available tables, including window seats. We were led to a table somewhat near the windows (maybe the host wasn't aware of our request... no big deal). Soon, I noticed that there was a big food delivery/bussing station about 6 feet from us. There was large tray of dirty dishes, which remained throughout the evening. Another couple was even closer to the dirty dishes and asked to be moved. At the end of the meal, I requested the manager. She came over, in gray yoga pants, looking defensive before I had even opened my mouth. I told her it was kind of unappetizing to see a tray of dirty dishes so close while eating (a busboy swooped in to remove them as the manager arrived). She responded, angrily, "We've been here since 9:30 am, and everyone is running around. We're doing the best we can!" Wow, does she just not know any better? Did she come straight from some Friendly's that closed? Who wants to to have dirty dishes practically close enough to smell when they are eating a $50 piece of sea bass? Maybe at least drape a napkin over them? And if the restaurant has people working double shifts, it's the diners' problem if they're too tired to do their jobs by dinnertime? The two stars are because our server was excellent and my seafood was good. My husband's steak, on the other hand, was small and sad, and I've never encountered such rudeness from a manager. read more

Went there on July 31, 2021. The drinks were weak and the food was just ok. I use to love this restaurant and the food is just not as good as it use to be. I was with a party of 6. I made reservations and my table wasn't ready. I still had to wait 20 mins and the hostess wasn't friendly. The main attraction is the location as the views are beautiful. Great venue! These guys are right on the water in Eastport. We came in for my buddies 50th birthday party and the Chart House delivered. Very friendly staff, clean restaurant and delicious food. We had seventeen people in our party on a Friday night and you could tell that these guys were used to handling big parties. Even on super busy nights! I had the salad bar to start with and honestly could have made a meal out of that alone. Instead I just made myself a monstrous Cesar salad with plenty of on hand fresh anchovies. Delicious! Our table ordered plenty of appetizers to share amongst ourselves. All were good but unfortunately I can't remember what they were lol A little too much wine is to blame....of which this place has an impressive selection. For my entree I got the prime rib that was very good. Nice and medium rare :) Very juicy and my sides were very good as well. Mashed potatoes and asparagus were on point. I've been here several times prior to covid and this was my first time back since Covid. All the appetizers were good (calamari, crab dip), the real disappointment came when our entrees came out. 4 of us ordered the filet, this was not a filet it was probably a sirloin? Cooked medium but still chewy and had poor flavor, but of course they charged as it was a filet. I made a reservation for Chart House a few weeks ago for my father's birthday and spoke with JENNIFER. She was incredibly friendly and made sure my father's birthday was going to be a celebration from the get-go. The menus read "Happy Birthday (name)" at the top and we kept them as a souvenir. My Dad also received a card from the CH with a lovely message and hand-written note. Our server, OMAR made my father's birthday an unforgettable experience. My father said he was the best server he's ever met. Special thanks to OMAR!! Sincere, friendly, attentive, recommended fantastic wine pairings and non-alcoholic (but fun) beverages with our food, he replaced our white linen napkins with black ones so we wouldn't get lint on our black dresses, and although we already ordered two desserts for four people, he brought a special dessert for my Dad alone, on the house! Special thanks Omar, you rock!! All of the food was excellent: highly recommend the Salmon Nicoise! My husband, an avid steak-lover, said the Prime Rib was the best he's ever had. Another solid chain restaurant concept. I have dined here numerous times for business events and twice personally and always found the food to be good. I always order the seafood dishes and/or seafood specials. I feel their menu is to large and they try to be all things to all people and are unable to focus on being good at less, so some of the entrees are very average. This is supported by others I have been with. I like going here with Rock Star to have cocktails and appetizers. You must order the shrimp cocktail. I will say no more, since its a pleasant surprise. Great location on the water in DT Eastport across the bridge from DT Annapolis. Verrrrry cozy bar and lounge. Neither my fiance or I were starving, so we decided to forgo appetizers and only order entrees and a dessert (I was very tempted by the hot chocolate lava cake). I viewed the "award winning" salad bar, but I did not find it overly impressive and decided the entree would be enough. We ate every last bite of our best of shrimp and the macadamia mahi dishes. They were cooked well and the portions were not overly large, but just enough. The dessert was a little disappointing. I did not feel like it lived up to the description; the cake was a little dry, though the heath bar pieces did add some unexpected flavor and texture. Disappointed! We went to Chart House for a special celebration with our daughter. The restaurant is pretty and the view of the water was lovely. The service was very good and the food is presented well. However, we were very disappointed with the food. We all ordered the torched fig salad which would lead you to believe they would be grilled figs. The figs were just split open with a very minimal amount of dressing. For entrees, my husband ordered the black and bleu swordfish. It was served with mashed potatoes that were barely warm. I ordered apple brandy kingfish salmon with fall grilled vegetables. The salmon was fishy and the oily apple brandy sauce was poured on the plate. My vegetables were barely cooked and hard. What the menu fails to tell you is that any sauce or topping is extra. For dessert we ordered a lava cake, which to our disappointment was fully cooked with no lava effect at all. Our bill for 3 people, with no beverages (we drank water), was $246 (with tip). For this price, we expected a delicious good quality meal. We will not be back. read more

Good location, but beyond that I cant say anything about my experience rated above mediocre. The dining room is pretty big with large windows looking out onto a pier. Very noisy. We began our meal with blue crab dip. Pretty unremarkable, and the thick garlic toast seemed inappropriate. My wife's cream of crab soup was ok, but being in maryland I expected more. Her side of asparagus soaking in a dish of melted butter seemed more suited for an applebees than a $35 a plate seafood restaurant. I ended up with the worst of the meal, though. My fish and side of vegetables were both overcooked and bland. My mahi-mahi was especially bad, tough and tasteless. Nothing was very good, most of the dishes were were not cooked well. Went here with a group of friends on a business trip. We really enjoyed everything from the ambiance and views, to the food, to the drinks! Start out with a trip to the Salad bar, it's amazing, clean, fresh and huge! We had a crab cake appetizer. There were lumps of crab, the bread crumbs and filling you find elsewhere was no where in sight. It was the best crab cake I've ever had. The molten chocolate cake for desert is to die for ! Took my wife there recently for a special night out. Service and food were excellent. The ambiance after the remodeling job is great as we enjoyed a table for 2 next to a warm fireplace. Let me start by saying we went on a busy evening (New Years Eve). I say this because a lot of establishments don't handle high volume days well. Chart House was awesome! The customer service was excellent. The food was great. I had a steak which was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection as well. My friend had a seafood dish which he also very much enjoyed. The ambience and feel of the place is classic and great. Loved it! We went to Chart House on Christmas day. It's beautiful, elegant, the service was wonderful. Our server, John, was amazing. The food was beyond what I could have imagined. We will definitely be back. The only negative I would have is that the waiter serving the table behind me was asked by a guest about the stuffed flounder. Instead of telling him about the item, the waiter said he "wouldn't recommend it. It's not good". Sorry but that's not good for business. Everyone's taste is different.
