They have an enormous window over looking Spa Creek with a clear shot of downtown Annapolis. This is a perfect place to watch the sun set and curl up by the fire for cocktails and appetizers in the winter months. The entire restuarant is lined with windows making every seat a good one with a view. the food is consistent and tasty. try the lava cake for dessert, although it takes 30 minutes to make because it is freshly made to order so be warned. read more

Exactly what my wife and I needed after a long week. I started with the crab soup, which came in a really cool iron cauldron and was fantastic. Then I had the ahi tuna. Their tuna is sushi grade, so I ordered it seared on the outside and slightly cool on the inside, which was exactly what I got. What I wasn't expecting was for the tuna steak to be more than an inch thick! It was literally the thickest piece of tuna I've ever had, and done perfectly. I paired with a great Pino Noir and wound up with a great meal, and great service to boot. We'll definitely be coming back soon. read more

We brought my parents to the chart house to celebrate my dads birthday. We had made a reservation on open table for the dinning room but ended up scoring a table in the lounge area by the big windows (much better view than the dinning room offers). Jamie and Omar were our wait staff and we cannot say enough about the service we experienced! It was an unforgettable evening and we loved every minute of it! The food was amazing, the view was gorgeous, we will be coming back every time we visit! Also, the dress code is not as strict as you may think. We all had on jeans and a nice shirt, but we saw people wearing shorts and a polo.. Very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Huge thanks to the staff for making it a great evening! read more

Very pricey for the low quality food and poor service. Six of us were there for 3 hours we could never find our waiter. When the food did come the filet mignons were cold and overcooked actually so hard you could not cut it. The prime rib fatty and the mid-size portion was very small, and the bronzed rockfish was small and dry, the stuffed flounder with crab stuffing was poor quality NO crab meat in there. Beef entrees come with mashed potatoes and other entrees come with rice that is the only choice or vegetables that are completely RAW. This restaurant used to have an extensive salad bar now it is just ordinary for 20.00. The restaurant was poor quality not worth the money for a pretty plate of bad food. read more

Came here for my sister's birthday on a Saturday night. Had a great experience. We were 17 people, seated at 2 tables. Everything was ready when we got there. My sister came later. While we waited the 2 wonderful waiters took care of the kids first. So nice of them. They didn't rush us and kept all our orders straight. It was a great experience. Another nice experience in the Chart House. They recently pulled off a full update/renovation in just a month, and we went here to see the results. The menu has been lightly updated, and the food was good as always. I had the prime rib, and my wife the crab cakes and my daughter the chicken and shrimp. All enjoyed their main courses. The lava cakes, which were already good, are even better as they've tweaked the preparation and the ingredients some. Most of all, they have both improved their seating and their service. The tables for dining are now out facing the water, where previously that was the bar area. White tablecloths, multiple hostesses, two gentlemen filling water, and the waitstaff themselves were very attentive and pleasant. Omar was exceptional and earned every bit of his above-board tip. He was very agreeable, helpful, and cheerful, and always timed things correctly, and checked in at the right frequency. The manager came by to ask how our evening was going. Only complaint - it was cold. That was a product of temperatures in the single digits and wind, but it wasn't too bad. They can only help that so much in a restaurant where 90% of the walls are glass. read more

A big group of us went Sat night for my sister's bday. They did a great job accommodating our reservation of 17. We had 2 tables and 2 waiters. They personalized the menu for us which was a lovely surprise. We had children with us and the waiter was so nice to ask if we wanted their food first. The food was great, the lava cake is a must! Pluses- great view by water, summer salad, bread, sizzling mushrooms, lava cake. Minuses- very noisy; warehouse feel; filet mignon was undercooked and not tender; stuffed shrimp and orzo were not hot and crabmeat was pitiful. I have been to Chart House on west coast and it was very good. I was very disappointed in my visit to this one. For the price of the food it was average and not worth it. I bought a family of four and was rushed from the start. I opted for the $10 added salad bar and couldn't finish one plate before my appetizer and main entree came. The shrimp cocktail was not very good and my prime rib was very disappointing. The salad in salad bar was brown and I had to tell someone. For the price why didn't they have someone tending it. Dessert was dry I had the chocolate cake. All in all I spent over $200 on meal and wouldn't go again. So very sad and they are owned by Landrys who we are a preferred member of. We flew out there and went with who we thought was better. Should have gone to Ruths Chris right next to them. read more

My husband and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary there yesterday (8/23/17). It was an awesome dining experience from beginning to end. Everyone was friendly. We received a happy anniversary card upon arrival. The food was perfect. Our server, Brandon was phenomenal. He was knowledgeable, humorous, engaging, attentive and very customer service oriented. I've ate at Landry's Seafood House in Houston and San Antonio, TX, Landry's Seafood House has amazing food. My husband and I celebrated his birthday at the Chart House last year. Last year when we dined here, the food and the service was absolutely amazing. We had dinner here last night Friday October 7th. We ordered the calamari appetizer and my husband and I both had prime rib. I decided this time to get the salad bar with my dinner since it looked so appealing when we walked in. The salad bar is definitely amazing and very fresh. I'm not sure if the Chart House has gotten a new chef, but the food was definitely nowhere near as good as it was last year. The service was okay. I'm not sure we will be back. read more

Many reviews have said this place is either great or horrible. My experience was on the horrible side. We went here on a Sunday afternoon during their all you can eat brunch. The place was clean, the view was great, and our waiter was very nice. Unfortunately, none of this could save the food. Nothing was fresh as was apparent by both the look, and would later be affirmed by the taste. Still, I was there with others so I tried to make the best of it. I skipped the breakfast items, which were mostly breakfast meats, and went right for the lunch. There were several seafood dishes where the cream was more powerful than the seafood. The salads mostly consisted of greens, and only 4 other toppings were available. The carving station looked more promising, but I grew discouraged as the server missed my order twice because he was too busy trying to get two flies off the meat. Not the kind of food or service I'd expect for over $20 a head. The drinks were good, I heard the mimosas were excellent and I was pleased with their large selection of tea. Unfortunately, there was no part of the meal that was beyond okay. Upon leaving I promptly found somewhere better to eat at half the price. read more

One of my favorite restaurants. Amazing dishes and great drinks. My only complaint may be that of all their dishes, the steaks sometimes are a little charred on the outside. Only a problem if you order your steak more than medium. Other than that deserts are amazing and all other dishes are delicious. Honestly surprised thus restraunts doesn't have a higher rating. Our waiter was fantastic but that is about it. The crab appetizer was very pretty but unfortunately bland with no seasoning or remoulade sauce. My Chart house chicken and my husband's snapper were also under seasoned. I also felt it was odd neither dish had a green vegetable on the plate! So both dishes were not visually appealing at all. Lastly the potatoes were neither mashed nor smashed but instead very starchy, as if they had been whipped in a food processor and thus because thick like glue. The lava cake was very good though, so the meal at least ended well. One other thing to note: 80's and 90's music in what us supposed to be a fine dining restaurant made dinner ambiance very "off". read more

Food was overall pretty good. I ordered the maize shrimp and scallops and the shrimp and it was utterly disgusting. Our appetizer and my boyfriends entree were fine but here was something very chemical about my dish. Our server (who's name I don't think I ever got) was too busy to offer good service. A fact that he didn't miss the opportunity to remind us over. Seriously, I dropped well over $100 for two people. I don't care if your busy and that being the reason you didn't bring us plates or come by our table for the first 15 minutes. Sorry, not worth the price of our dinner. Went to celebrate a birthday. The personalized menus are a nice touch. It appeared that reservations did not count for much as pretty much every party was seated well after their reservation time. Views are spectacular and food was good but not great! Portions were small and fish dishes were overcooked. Prime rib was gristly, overly salty and difficult to cut. Don't waste your money here. The only thing I enjoyed was the view, and frankly many places in Annapolis have equally stunning views. We went to the chart house with the intention of having a nice sit down dinner for our friends Bachelorette weekend. We had a reservation for 12 at 8pm, and we're not seated until almost 9pm because (according to the snippy hostess) there was a group sitting at our table hanging out. So our plan of watching the sunset while we ate, was shot from the start. I can understand the restaurant having minimal control over what their guests do, but the "bedside manner" of the host made matters much worse. You would think a restaurant like that would hire more professional staff, but instead we were given zero information and offered no apology and acted as though we were annoying her by asking how much longer we were going to have to wait. We were comped two very mediocre bottles of wine (for 12 people, that was about 4 sips per person, thanks I guess?) and then they seated us with an absolutely clueless and unpleasant server. He did not smile once while we were there. He did not welcome us. He was clearly in a hurry to get us out of his hair, which was absurd considering we were one of the last parties in the restaurant because of the other party lingering. Three dishes had to be sent back because they were cold, and our oysters were luke warm. With less than professional wait-staff, mediocre food experience, and the utter pointlessness of even making a reservation, I wouldn't recommend wasting your money here when Annapolis has a lot of other really great places to eat on the water. read more

Visited the Chart House last month on business. My review will be glowing because there wasn't anything bad about my experience here. A few of us sat in the bar area. Although the day was cloudy, the view was still lovely. Boats, boats, water, boats. :) Floor to ceiling windows, cathedral ceilings, comfortable chairs. I arrived for happy hour, of course. and was delighted with my Cosmo and than a glass of Cabernet. Appetizers were ordered which included, buffalo shrimp (wanted more, not enough), prime rib sliders (Amazing!), oysters (yum!), and bruschetta (so-so) . This was a great visit. We went midweek on a dinner date in the early evening; the restaurant was not yet crowded and the wait staff was attentive to us. Everything from the appetizers, to main course, to dessert were well prepared and delicious. We found it odd that the main flavoring theme was Caribbean/oriental (lots of ginger!) but the flavor pairings were wonderful. As the crowd started to come in we found the atmosphere start to turn "snobby." Still, it was good experience with good food and we will definitely return. read more

Chart House is obviously very expensive, but the atmosphere is a bit impersonal for the price. We came here for some appetizers and drinks the night of the infamous yacht club fire. Overall: Service was terrible, food was less than OK but edible, value - poor. Pam took me here for my birthday dinner last night. This is where our first date took place so it holds a special place. We had reservations for 6:45 and arrived just after 6:30 and were seated quickly. We had ask for a window seat which we were given. Keep in mind it was maybe 20 - 25 % occupied. After a 10 minute wait our server showed up and apologized for taking so long. She took our drink orders (wine and scotch). Wait ... wait .... wait - over almost 20 minutes later our drinks showed up. She dropped them off and said "I'll be right back" ... well almost. We placed our order; Pam ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and sun dried tomatoes, I ordered the "Spicy Yellowfin Ahi". The server realized we had not been served bread and again "I'll bring it right back". We each opted for the salad bar - wrong choice! We've been here many times before and one thing I really liked was the salad bar. This visit the salad bar was terrible. There was no green bell pepper (I asked and was told they would bring some out - it did not materialize), the onions were finely chopped not rings or cut rings. They usually have roe and crackers, the crackers were out but not the roe. The french salad dressing had no ladle and someone had used the one for the ranch leaving ranch dressing in the french and french in the ranch. The vinaigrette was OK. There was no choice of a "light" dressing. So, back to the bread. It was served after we had gone to the salad bar and were almost finished with the salad. There were only two rolls in the basket, one white and one wheat (I think) and no butter. If we both had wanted the same roll we were just out of luck. When the server came to an adjacent table we ask for butter. It was served after our rolls were cold (well maybe still a little warm) and I had eaten about 3/4 of my roll. There was a respectful amount of time between the salad and the entrees. How did they measure up? Mine was OK. It was advertised as "spicy" but there was only a bit of wasabi and ginger and no noticeable soy. It was to be served "seared and rare" it was more like Medium and there was a thick searing on both sides. The shrimp with the pasta was well over cooked and "chewy" and not moist at all. During dinner I was not offered another drink ( I really would have ordered coffee not another Glenlivet). Our water was not refreshed. By desert time we were finished ... ready to leave. This is not the experience that we've had on many previous occasions and I hope this is not their usual. read more

Our super nice waiter kept disappearing for 15+ min intervals, which was frustrating when we were ready to order and when we needed drink refills. After one particularly long absence, he rushed over with our food, which was already cold. It was tasty, but barely room temp. We were too hungry to complain or send our plates back; plus, we didn't want to sit there for another hour so we made the best of it. PS - The Crab, Shrimp & Vegetable Fritters were freaking amazing. My fav is the location in Old Town Virginia, but this was my first time to the Annapolis location. 1. It's kind of hidden from the main road and the parking is scarce and tricky. We asked a server outside smoking a cigarette if they offered valet and he said they didn't and to park in any of the parking spots, "they" don't care. We found something that looked legit and parked there. 2. There's no outdoor seating (unless I missed it by mistake) and this place is huge so they could def take in a portion of the restaurant to make space. 3. Hostess was great, although it took a while to get a table set and cleaned up (we had reservations) she kept us updated on our wait time. 4. I got seafood (Best of Shrimp) with the rice pilaf and my date got a steak (Callahan cut prime rib) that he had to send it back because it was cooked medium rare instead of medium well - just a minor miscommunication, no big deal. We also shared sides of fries and aspargus (it's perfect size for two people). The food was great. 5. After we got our food, I didnt see our waiter for the rest of our meal. In fact, he didnt service any of the tables near us until 30-40 min later. All in all, I still gave this place 4 stars just because I'm a fan of Chart House and the food was still great. They could take my minus one star and work on some internal housekeeping issues. read more

A superb dining experience! I love seafood, and I enjoy ordering a few small plates instead of one main entree, and this was the perfect place to do that! We started with half a dozen oysters on the half shell (very fresh!), the calamari and friends, and the crab stuffed mushrooms. We then split the mixed grill, which came with mahi mahi, shrimp scampi, and a crab cake. It was AMAZING! The mahi mahi was prepared perfectly, the shrimp scampi was also delicious, and the crab cake was probably the best crab cake I've ever tasted. Huge chunks of crab with very little bread crumbs or mayo. The entree also came with a decent portion of delicious mashed potatoes as well as asparagus spears (although we were a little sad there were only 3 spears). We also ordered the molten chocolate cake baked with a reese cup in the middle, and it was decadent. Perfect texture, fresh baked from the oven, melt in your mouth goodness. I highly recommend it. Make sure to order it when you order your entrees, though, because it's baked to order so takes about 30 minutes. It's not huge, but I wouldn't recommend trying to eat it by yourself, it's very rich! The service was excellent. The host staff got us seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time, although we didn't mind much because the cocktail lounge was absolutely gorgeous. And our server was just amazing. She was very professional and attentive. Our waters were never empty, each course came out promptly, and she gave us some excellent menu recommendations. (05/15/2011) Lovely place on the waterfront in Annapolis to have brunch, even if it is a chain. We sat in the open louge overlooking the water. The brunch menu is an entree and unlimited salad bar for $25.99, and special $0.99 mimosas or $2.50 bloody marys. I had the "Maryland Benedict", crabcakes on toasted English muffins topped with poached eggs and Hollandaise (side of home fries, fruit) -- crab meat was very sweet, some lump, some backfin, lots of Old Bay; Hollandaise was rich and buttery, not very lemony, but savory enough, perfectly oozy-yolked poached eggs. My husband had a spinach salad with the classic sweet/sour warm bacon dressing, sauteed, sherried mushrooms, chopped eggs, radishes, and the appetizer jumbo lump crabcake, about 6 oz., broiled, very lumpy and sweet meat, drizzle of tangy Dijon dressing. Overall, the food was tasty, not wow!, but the experience was enjoyable (pretending to be Thurston and Lovey Howell, III, for the day). Prices are on the steep side, you're mostly paying for the view (marina property isn't cheap), and the opportunity to watch the yachts sail by. Classy, upscale, nautical-themed, quintessential Annapolis (perfect for Maryland politicos, blue-bloods, and the nouveau riche). read more

Had dinner with two other couples. Reservation was for 7:15 pm. Arrived at 7:05 and seated on time. Service was prompt, efficient and courteous. Server suggestions were spot on. I had Parmesan encrusted rockfish over angel hair pasta and it was absolutely delicious. Also had the salad bar and never got past the Ceaser Salad - fresh and perfect. Others had surf and turf and fresh Mahi. All enjoyed their dinners vert much. Everyone (but me) split two cherry/apple type dessert. They raved about it and wish they had more. With tip it came to $71/person, but we also had a (less expensive) bottle of wine, a few beers and a single glass of wine and a side of asparagus. So overall, based on the service, food, drinks and total experience, it was worth it. Will certainly go back again. read more

Fabulous time at the Chart House yesterday for my daughter's Sweet 16. Great service from the manager (who personally made sure everything was perfect) through our thoroughly professional server, Alex (who seamlessly handled a party of 9), to the Hostess who took our cake while we enjoyed Annapolis before dinner. Excellent food from the salads, bread and gazapacho through the mains, sides and the to die for Lava Cake. Expensive but worth it and one of the best restaurant views in America. read more

Location first - that's the premise of this Landry's Restaurant Chain. Food comes second but not too far behind. Expect better than average fish, steaks and chops prepared simply in a conservatively elegant atmosphere. Expect to see plenty of midshipmen with their parents. It's a wonderful setting for brunch. The salad bar is well stocked and fresh. The entrees are good with nothing exceptional, but certainly enjoyable and palatable. The lava cake for desert is worth a good fight at the table to get the last piece. The bar provides an exception view of the annapolis yacht club and is perfect for a drink and light snack during the day. In all, I like this for special occasions when in Annapolis. read more
