Suddenly we had no hot water and did what experience said was what to do as an ameteur home owner. And all attempts led by a closer to the conclusion that our 27 year old water heater was drawing its last breaths. So sad like a part of the family, purchased as a need of replacement because of the flood of 93. And it never once had issues. So low maintenance that now I never ebven noticed the brand name. And so a friend recommended a never heard of company and within an hour there was Chuck Stephens from Chas Goering Plumbing, Heating & Cooling sending a text that he was on his way. I still needed to pray my old friend would live and so he did a repair that none of us were very hopeful about, but he actually got it to work again, but alas it only was a temp fix. And so the next day I had to do the phone call asking about a new one. And less than 24 hours later the man on the phone was explaining needs and costs and less than 24 hours after that Mr. Stephens was back replacing out now dead friend the water heater. I allowed them to choose because I had no clue or time and they installed a RUDD. I know that the shoddy way manufacturers build appliances these days will likely cause me to need some kind of service to it within a couple years, but for the first time since beginning to deal with Des Moines companies and installations of various needs in my home I feel confident that the installer did an outstanding job and feel confident that a future call to this company will result in another caring, professional and successful visit from them. And I have successfully discovered the company I will call 100 percent of the time for the rest of my home owner life for all the needs that arise. Thank you to the entire company and especially Mr. Stephens for restoring my faith in Des Moines businesses. Shout out to Goering Plumbing for outstanding emergency attention. Saturday night our security alarm alerted us to a water emergency. Water was backed up in our basement. I tried many "24 hour plumbers." By email and telephone, Kevin Goering of Goering Plumbing responded quickly and provided emergency triage to get our sewage injector working to stop the flooding. The pump started and the water drained. As promised Monday morning, they sent Chuck to install a new sewage ejector. Chuck was on time, professional, thorough, conscientious ... and he cleaned up after. The company kept me posted with text messages. I went to the basement this morning and stepped off the bottom stair into a puddle of water. I determined our sump pump had failed so I called Goering shortly after 8 am. Help arrived within 1/2 hour and a short time later a new sump pump was installed & water was draining away. They were very prompt & courteous. Highly recommended! read more

Fixed the stop box under the sidewalk, I was given two quotes from the beginning explaining the cost if they needed to replace the valve or just the box so I knew what to expect. Plumber was NO SHOW NO CALL for four days. They finally showed up with too large of a backhoe that TRASHED my yard just to put in a small sump pump outlet pipe. They damaged the ceiling in my basement and didn't fix it. Worst job ever! read more
