I have had multiple credit card with Chase for many years. I needed to go into a branch in Alameda, CA today (July 11, 2018) to do some transactions. I was greeted by one of the most professional, courteous and sincere young gentlemen. His name is/was Reuben. This young man was so "customer service driven, it was an outstanding first impression. I observed Reuben after he handled what I needed. He consistently displayed the same kind, genuine, caring customer attentiveness to every single customer walking through the door. In addition to Reuben main position as a Teller. He was greeting and directing the public to the area & person they needed for their specific transaction. Reuben is an excellent communicator and gave every customer his undivided attention. Eye contact, interested in their needs and able to decipher the best course of action to satisfy the needs in a quick and results-oriented manner. I'd like to give a huge "Shout-out" to this young man for his excellent and natural ability to represent Chase as the first point of contact. I have relied on this this Chase for the three years that I've lived in the area and through the years it's been alright for the most part, though always a bit slow. I was recently married though and my wife and I had to go meet with a personal banker to sort out our accounts. We tried to go in one Saturday and wait to meet with someone, but we sat for 30 minutes and no one even came over to ask what we needed help with. We decided that the issue was probably that it was a weekend, so we gathered I would have to take a day off from work so we could go in on a weekday. We made an appointment for a Thursday at 11. We waited for 10 minutes before anyone helped us and when we met the banker we were assigned she told us it would be an additional 15 minute wait. For a person with an appointment! And it has stretched longer, at this point we've wasted another 30 minutes waiting at this bank. This is unacceptable, I feel that my wife and I have wasted enough time waiting around here. Older Filipino lady gave my deposit back to the other teller, telling me that she wanted the window free. She was already not helpful. Next week, she suggested that I do a bank drop (to avoid inconvenience to her)? I was already upset but said nothing. She then had the nerve to complain to my boss that I was the problem. I come into the bank with large deposits. Not only was her customer service bad, she had the nerve to complain about the customer like she was the victim when she was the perpetrator. read more

My first time visiting this particular location, and this is based on only one visit. Bank is really nice inside but, there is only 2 teller windows and bunch of ATM'S inside for what, as if they don't want you to come in and speak with bank person. There was long line and you can tell people are very upset, and it seems like they have very poor customer service, i went inside to get Cashier Check, i wrote the amount i needed , but when she brought the check, it was different amount. so frustrating, i do not understand how this can happen. I walked in and I asked if I could get pre-approved for a mortgage and the lady told me I can leave my information. I asked for a business card instead. The lady just left and I stood there like an idiot for 5 minutes while she went back to her position where she greeted people. She spoke to another person but neither gave me an update on anything they just went back to what they were doing. Neither made the effort to give me an update or anything they just went back to what they were doing. I feel like there was age discrimination because I look young and I was carrying my bag pack. Whatever the case. I'm not going back to that location. They need to work on their customer service. You don't leave people hanging. What they should've done was given me a damn update on why I couldn't get a simple business card. read more

We were long time WaMu customers and rolled into Chase. Went to refi for a lower interest rate and the experience was HORRIBLE. The customer service of the loan officer (Kevin) at the Alameda Town Center branch was unacceptable: rude, errors, sent "victim of fraud" to us in error, got loan amount incorrect, etc. Definitely avoid doing a refi at this local branch, or at a minimum with the current loan officer. Even with excellent credit, checking/savings, mortgage and business accts we were treated like dirt. We'll see if they can recover (talking to Regional Director and Branch manager). read more

Worst customer service ever! My wallet was stolen yesterday, and I work nearby this branch so why not come in 2 hours early and print out a new debit card even though this is not my usual branch that I go to. Waited an hour and 30 minutes to be helped nobody acknowledged the fact that I was waiting for so long. Then I finally get called. First I asked the personal banker he was a bald elderly white man with glasses can I get a new card & explained my story. Gave him my school ID and social security, since my wallet got stolen that's the only form of identification I have at the moment and he told me it wasn't valid! So I tell this man I did this at another branch and it was perfectly fine and he goes well go back to that branch than cause they aren't doing anything right. Like excuse my language but listen here asshole just cause they wanted to provide better customer service than you does not mean you can talk down on others and second of all why can't you print me a card when all you have to do is put my social in. Horrible I hope that man gets fired and if he doesn't I hope this branch gets shut down. I don't usually write reviews but this is very disappointing worst Chase ever read more

Nice people but bad set up. At least this location has two traditional teller windows so I know where to wait. The other location on the island is just too weird. Nothing but atm's and offices. Worst Customer Service Experience. The Store Manager does not have a sense of what customer service is and needs to think about putting customers first. Walk in to the branch to pull out some cash from my wife Edd card to waste time and telling me that she has to be present. Two weeks ago i was able to the same transaction in a different Chase Branch without any complications. This location is horrible avoid this particular branch if possible long lines and bad attitude. My business banking experience at this Chase branch has been frustrating and awful - the worst ever. I would highly recommend doing business banking elsewhere. Zero stars. I'm writing to give the consumer banking associate who helped me a "5", averaged with a "1" for the branch set-up, yields an overall "3". As a company, Chase is somewhat difficult to deal with. I've had some identity and credit theft issues to the point that they would no longer help me on the phone, and I had to go into a branch. Linh Truong was a great help. She took a personal interest in helping me resolve my problem, and was able to book an appointment so that I didn't need to wait in line my return visit. Her assistance is what caused me to keep my account open despite the poor online help I've received. I give the overall branch set-up a "1". It is hilarious to walk in, and see ATM bots in front of the spot where real tellers used to be. Chase needs to make up its mind, is it a walk-up bank, or a virtual bank. If the branch is going to stay open, bring back the tellers. If not, go virtual and provide excellent online service. Poor online service coupled with virtual tellers in the branch doesn't cut it. read more

I was a WAMU customer, that rolled in to chase. Kevin Doorian, who is the WORST loan officer on the planet, left us hanging. In the end, the only reason that we even managed to get into our house, was because my realtor started working directly with the loan processor. I am not a chase banking customer. I was desopiting cash into someones account, and i have the account number, and they stated that I was not allowed to do this. I have done it before, with no issues. This incident may have cost your bank a few customers. I will recommend to anyone not to utilize or patronize your bank. read more

This company is terrible and horrible, especially this branch location here in Alameda. Thankfully I do not do business with this piece of crap bank. I came to this branch location a few weeks ago to deposit some cash into my mother's Checking Account. They told me that cash could not be deposited into an account if I don't have an account with them. Only Checks and Money Orders could be deposited and not cash. Are you kidding me?? Are you serious?? They then told me that I could go and get a Money Order from Safeway!! So of course I told them off and told them on my way out, that I can handle my business somewhere else and said that's why Chase Bank sucks!! I have no idea why people do business with this garbage Financial Company. They do not care about people or their own customers at all!! I don't bank with chase but I always come and make deposits for work. The staff is always very helpful, friendly and kind especially ULISES! I hope I spelled his name right. I was standing in a kind of long line one day, pretty much on a time constraint for work and as always ULISES came and ask what I needed help with so I told him, and he Instantly went out of his way to grab someone else that could watch the front lobby and helped me with my transaction. Yes their systems might've been down but he made sure to let his manager inform me of what was going on, things happen so it's completely understandable plus it still didn't take too long. I think I will consider opening up an account for my son's savings, I wish there were more people in the world like ULISES who is very helpful, kind & who performs his job well, shows to be very genuine and never hesitates to offer his help! I used love to come to this bank back in the 90s when it was "Great Western" then it wasn't so bad when they became "Washington Mutual" then now it is "Chase", So from history speaks for itself I been banking here for close to 20 years. It just get worst each time I come in. 1st, they wont issue me a new atm card unless i modify my account which I do not want to and was told they would grandfather in my old account no matter what changes.... lies. Today I went in and simply asking a question, then they again guide me to the lady who sit on the side of those cubicle box and guess what, its time to upsell me again..... I hate this, I just ask a question, they want my whole ss# then look up my profile and start asking me to do changes.... STOP. this is the reason I stop using your local branch. Everytime is upsell upsell upsell, I do not want to do any changes, I was nice enough to give you my ss# but STOP looking at my profile and try to sell me something I dont want or ask. read more
