Came here because I scheduled an appointment online yesterday for notary. I attempted a few times to call and confirm but none of my calls were answered. I spoke to an agent from the Marin location who confirmed that this branch did notary only to be told in person they don't. I wrote in the comments, the reason I was coming in was for notary. Jason, did not contact me until 30 minutes before my appointment at 4 to inform me that the notary service wasn't available. I did not see the phone call until I arrived in person. He gleefully shared that the branch doesnt offer the service. It was very unprofessional on their behalf and inconveniencing for me. Had they called me to inform me they didn't do notary, I wouldn't have adjusted my schedule. read more

About four months ago, one of my classmates and I opened a checking account with Wells Fargo, Montclair Branch, Oakland, for our class reunion. I made a large deposit to the account at that time. After discussion with my classmate yesterday, he told me to go ahead and get reimbursed. I stopped at this branch to get reimbursed via a cashier's check. Wow! Wells Fargo employee told me there would be a $10 fee for the cashier's check. One would think a senior citizen who is a bank customer with a checking account would not be charged a fee. I paid the $10 out of my pocket. This is what I called greed, highway robbery, a rip off of bank customers. There's a reason why I don't deal with banks such as Bank of America, Chase, WELLS FARGO, etc. I'm glad my credit union does not charge me a fee for a cashier's check. read more

Fair is fair. They had a home loan guy super easy to deal with and good at his job for getting checks to title company. Bad? Manager who wouldn't allow me to deposit to business checking because made out to slightly different old business name. Hey, only took 20 minutes and she refused to give me full name and contact info for supervisor. Also, had to go into branch in person because Wells algorithm sux balls for allowing bank card fraud. Everytime I come here there services is quick and helpful. There's no big lines like other banks. The only spot I go to now.

service continues in a free fall. on 11/13 I wrote a check from my Schwab account to deposit in my WF checking account only to receive a hold email notice that funds would not be available for four days 11/17. Four days to process a check? I stoped in the back and ended up with the manager who refused to provide any information ie what if the check was for a lower amount or what is the hold criteria? no answer other than it's information that is not available. over the last five months we have moved a considerable abound from WF to Schwab where customer service is a huge priority. the best service from WF is their ATM where you don't need to interact with " customer service". read more

The service (or lack of service) on this WF branch at Marina Village has gone down tremendously. I was there recently wanting to deposit some checks from my rentals. There were 3 tellers. One female was tending to a customer and the other two tellers, an Asian girl and Asian boy were just talking and talking and talking to their customers at the counters. Their transactions were completed, but they just kept on talking and talking to their customers adding to each other's comments and asking questions about their personal life events, which has nothing to do with banking but only to extend their conversations even longer. All this while there was a line waiting to complete banking transactions. Needless to say, after 5-10 minutes of senseless conversation, I left to do my deposit at my other bank nearby, Chase Bank, located across from In Out Burgers at the newer mall. Although my deposit amount wasn't a large amount, slightly over $20k a month from my rentals, but I'm sure other banks will appreciate my deposit more than their employees who talk extendedly to people at their counters rather than helping those that need their banking business done. I wonder how longer they're going to have their jobs? read more

Walked into the door and was given the worst attitude ever. The customer service sucks. They are not there to help but make excuses not to help. 20+ years of customer ship meant nothing to them. don't even think of using this bank unless you have at least 45 minutes to wait in line. Even in the middle of a weekday morning when you'd think most people would be at work or in school, the line will be so long it reaches the parking lot. There's generally only 2 cashiers working and they work as if they're being paid by the minute. People in line often make jokes about how long they're waiting. Good thing Alameda Hospital is nearby in case your legs collapse from all the waiting. The air in the bank is very stuffy also. Avoid this place whenever possible. read more

This was the worst banking experience EVER!! I sat in the presence of a personal banker and he called customer service and handed me the phone. After that, all hell broke cuz I was transferred to 5 different departments in 2 hours. I was ready to kill myself!!! It is astounding how WF keeps customers due to the confusion, disorganization and chaos that they don't mind passing on. I have never had an account with WF. So, Wells Fargo is getting reviewed, in part, because I'm getting pissy over Chase. For someone who is lucky enough to hold a steady job, it is nice to have a bank open on a Saturday... and they are open until 6 pm on a Saturday.... Crazy! Customer Service apparently still has a pulse in California! There atms seem to be ultra cool too, but I admit that I'm not that knowledgeable about atms, just thought it was cool (and kind of green) not to use deposit envelopes, get little copies of the deposited checks at that moment, and it seem to be fast. Anywho, maybe other banks can take notice of this. This branch is giving Wells a decent rep. read more

As a whole, Wells Fargo is the Devil, however this branch is terrific. The tellers are sweet and proficient and frequently understand my humor based on obscure cultural references, the banker Jessi is a modest genius who shares my passion and horror of home remodeling and there's another banker, Kathleen, who was so amazing that I wrote her a thank you note. With a pen and paper. And a stamp! And I used the postal service! Who knows if she ever got it because USPS will generally only deliver other people's Christmas cards and circulars for Big 5, but still! You see I was moved. Said banker clearly has tech challenged loved ones because when I wanted to pay my property taxes and my lizard brain blew steam from every pore, she gently suggested that I pay online and walked me through it. Oh, young people. Look. Quit worrying about reports of a collapse of civility and the demise of compassion and pay attention to your direct experiences. Don't young people have great social skills? I'm in the valley of the shadow of Wells Fargo and here is this young banker. Instead of just giving me a cashiers check and watching me dash around Oakland to transfer money from other banks or use the aforementioned couriers of useless circulars, she helped me sort out online financial transactions and explained how I can also use the internet super highway to make an appointment at the DMV. One star off for consorting with the Devil. It still is Wells, but these folks are going to ruin the Devil's reputation if they keep this up. read more

Been banking here for quite awhile, and it's not that close to my house either. Why do I go there? Two reasons: 1) There's gobs of parking 2) The tellers are super nice and SUPER CUTE!!! This place is AMAZING. When you walk in there, right away you're treated like royalty! Someone is always there to greet you and to guide you in the right direction. Today, a personal banker named Cindy welcomed me the second I walked in and asked me what I needed. All I needed was to take some cash out so she took me over to a teller named Alex. Alex was so nice! Transaction went by very smooth. We talked about our day and he was very easy to talk to. While the transaction was happening, I noticed a woman pacing back and forth behind the tellers. I believe her name was Athena and introduced herself as the service manager. She had a huge smile and was talking to all the customers. She came over to me and Alex and asked me how I was and how my accounts were going. I told her that everything was good and I'm glad I came to this branch. Then she said thanks and typed something on the keyboard and left. After I was finished and walked towards the door, I had met Jeff, I believe the branch manager. He asked me if I was taken care of and thanked me for coming in. I'm telling you guys this branch has to be the most welcoming Wells Fargo branch I have visited. The staff was warm and inviting. I'm definitely going to visit this place from now on and if you're ever on the island, I recommend you do the same! read more

This branch ruined my credit royally for the next SEVEN YEARS! To make a really long story semi short- Went in one day last November to make a deposit to pay a medical bill. The personal banker suggested I switch accounts, ehm ok??... I told her I would agree to do so as long as I could use the same debit card that I was planning to use minutes after I left the branch (I stressed this; this was the entire premises of my visit). She noted my concern and said she would "link my debit card" her exact words. Cool! I thought she knew what was best for me. Not the case! Basically what happened was she deposited the money into my old account and it goes into limbo. I notice the money never came out so I call my Dr. He says I paid in full. The checkers at Wells have no idea what I am talking about when I inquire as to what could have happened. Nothing on my wells app not an email not one letter! Until twenty days later I get a letter from Wells Fargo debt collectors now saying I owe them the money. A little bummed, but I finally figure out what had happened and I make a deal to pay monthly. I missed one payment! One, by a few days and they drained my entire bank account! It was like severe punishment for something that was mainly there fault! I was furious, I had other bills to pay and that's why I had set up payment arrangements. I get it, I was a few days late, but there was money in my account and I obviously wasn't going awol on them. Jerks! So here it gets worse. I'm livid, I am trying to get my money back frantically to pay my rent. Nope, they have no remorse. I just love how they can make a HUGE mistake without ramifications, however the customer does it and they get capitol punishment. F'ing federal reserve I swear.. So anyway, I go to war with Wells refusing to pay until they absorb some of the responsibility which is mostly theirs. Finally a manager helps me to settle for $300 less than the original amount. Ok, cool. Thanks, six months later and after going through hell and back, someone can finally give me some justice. Nope! A month later I go to another bank to set up an account and I have a EWS. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's bad. It alerts other banks of your "delinquency" (yeah right) and then it doesn't go away for 7 years! You can however dispute it, which I am in the process of. Wells said they couldn't reverse it, but they would give me a complimentary letter to take around to prove my innocence. I basically HATE this branch and Wells Fargo. It's been nothing but trouble. I have other bank accounts and major credit cards with no problems, but all because of an inexperienced personal banker (who magically stopped working there after the incident) who didn't know what the hell she was doing; I will suffer this mark of disapproval- which I do not deserve for seven years. I wish I could give zero stars. This branch opened a credit card in my husband's name without his authorization, and when we went to he branch to close it the manager just shrugged it off. This is credit card fraud and someone forged my husband's signature on a credit card application in your branch and you don't care? Um yeah, never visiting this branch again and considering doing my banking elsewhere after being a loyal Wells Fargo customer for over 20 years. I've been banking with WF for almost 8 yrs. I had an issue with a retailer refunding credit back to a closed credit card so I went into this branch to seek help. Anise Torres approaches me and asked what I needed. I told her my situation and she enlisted her manager Vu Nguyen's advice. He made her come talk to me a few times while he was sitting at his desk. I asked her why he couldn't directly speak to me to than rather have her walk back and forth in heels relay the information. Anise finally decided to help me and had my issue resolved. At the end of our interface, she handed me a document stating my purpose for the visit. I have never seen that paper before so I asked her if it was a new process they've implemented. She said no & wanted to make it a good practice, which it was. She also gave my playful son their "Mack" plush pony as a courtesy (of referring someone to open a checking account) on behalf of a customer who didn't want it. Anise is a sweet girl, but her manager Vu needs to show better customer service that's why I'm rating them a 3, cause of him. Thanks, Anise! read more

Wells Fargo seems to think it's necessary to hold on to a deposit drawn on their own bank for six days before releasing funds. Their customer service phone line. And branch office employees were totally non-helpful. I plan to close this account is soon practical, and recommend this bank no one! read more

I'd give them no stars if I could. I have been banking with Wells Fargo for 13 years and while I was in high school and college they made sure that everything I needed I had. After I graduated from high school all of a sudden, I had to have $7500 in my account at all times or they would charge me $30 every month. I had to close this account and open another account to change the type. In the process of opening the new account they then signed me up for a lot of identity theft and other programs that I didn't authorize them to open which charged be up to $150 a month between them all. When I called to have them close these accounts they insisted that someone must have taken over my account if I didn't authorize the charges and tried to open a fraud case. This was frustrating because they then froze all my accounts. When they finally decided that they had "accidentally" authorized them for me I was two weeks late on my bills. Today was the last straw. I looked at my account last night at 11pm and saw that I had almost $600 in the account and $500 in bills coming out today. I looked at the account today and the balance was -$270. I had $600 in my savings account that was supposed to be set up as overdraft protection but they "forgot". $240 in overdraft fees because they forgot to set up my overdraft protection. Then they charged me for setting it up because I had to talk to a person to get the fees reversed. So now instead of having almost $700 between savings and checking to get me through until the end of the month, I have $124.36. Thank you Wells Fargo. read more

Worst experience ever! The bank teller tricked me to open new accounts instead of upgrading my existing ones. They also opened credit card account for me without my authorization. Contacted the branch manager for few times, she kept on making up excuses without solving the issue. Had to go to another branch to have the problem resolved. read more
