Very disappointed with Chase bank. Came here to close our safety box. We have money in the bank and been a chase client for years. Now no more. We will close all of our accounts with chase bank. We got charged for the safety box and realized 2 days later and we wanted to cancel it. They made us take all of our stuff out the safety box and then tell us they cant give us a refund. I've banked at this branch for 20 years, and use Chase as my primary account for paying bills, etc. I needed a Signature Guarantee for another large financial institution - like a notary, but for financial rather than legal documents. Rather than guaranteeing the signature of a long-time customer, Chase demanded to stick their nose into the form and refused to process it. (The subject of the form is not related to the validity of my signature!) That defeats the whole purpose of the guarantee and the long-term banking relationship. Also, the branch manager (the only employee who could process the guarantee) sat in their ivory tower and made a minion run back and forth with information. I will happily be looking for another bank. read more

I have mixed feelings about money: it sure is nice to have some, but it can also be stressful. A bank can either mitigate that stress or aggravate it. So far, during my many years of coming to this branch I haven't had any bad experiences (unless you count standing in line with pushy, grumpy people). The tellers are friendly, professional and helpful (hmm, maybe an occasional less-than-friendly exception to that), even when the branch is busy and customers are being impatient and rude (I'd write that you know who you are, but you probably lack that kind of self-awareness). Just recently, when my debit card was about to expire and I hadn't received my new one yet, I went into this branch where an amiable banker helped me right away and reissued my card. The card arrived within the time-frame I was told it would (though I guess I should also thank USPS for that?). I only use Chase for basic banking needs, but so far those needs have been met. There's only so much love I am going to show for a massive financial institution (not much), so these four stars are for the nice people working at this location. read more

A Chase worker was being racist towards me at this branch. I did not realize that Chase Bank encourages racism and hires racist workers. I have the whole conversation recorded on my phone, and I'm assuming they do to with the bank cameras. but I was discussing the hardships we go through being racially profiled with another customer, who was also a minority. But the bank teller, just started laughing over my voice, and interrupting me while I was discussing the racism and hardships with the other customer. I was upset and started arguing with the teller. She told me to just leave and that she was not being racist and that my problems were not her problem. But she was clearing racist and prejudice. She was an older bank teller Caucasian female with grey long hair. She was extremely rude and was clearly being racist by laughing at the topic of racism. Do not work with Jane Baer, she is very rude and has no customer facing skills. While explaining to her the accounts opened before with a different banker , and wanting to check the status on some pending cards that were previously set up and not sent, she said said that is impossible and chase can't do it. Ok, so maybe she doesn't understand what the other banker helped us do, I tried to explain what was setup. She became rude and defensive, then said she will check with her manager. Wait and wait, she comes back and says even my manager said I was right that can't be done. She kept going on and on about how she is right and I told her no, this is exactly what we did with a different banker. And she got mad and started raising her voice to a yelling level and continued to say "NO THAT CANT BE DONE, MY MANAGER ALREADY SAID IM RIGHT. YOU CANT DO THAT . STOP ARGUING WITH ME". While i was not arguing with, simply explaining what was done with a different banker the last visit. I really hate going inside banks in general because they make me anxious. I'm giving this chase a 3 star because it's a hit or miss. Sometimes I have the most friendly bankers that ask me about my day and what I'm up to. The transactions are easy and quick with them. I appreciate the tellers that explain everything to me and ask me if I want the balance of the account on my receipt. You da real MVP! On the other hand, I occasionally get bankers/tellers that talk to me like I'm a 5 year old child. Being a teacher, I know the tone to use with children and I noticed they use the same one when I'm explaining simple addition (AKA condescending!). I find that most of the time when that happens, I'm speaking to someone from management. It really just depends what you're going in for. Also, the line to wait is either really long or hardly anyone there. The place itself is clean and air conditioned (which really matters when you're waiting in line, trust me). read more

Came here for a withdrawal and there was a small line waiting to make transactions of their own. When it was my turn I walked up only to read on the screen that the ATM was out of cash. A bank ATM, out of cash? in freaking broad daylight operating hours?! Stupid. Waited in line some more before getting to the side ATM that had money. Why would you have a walk up ATM with no money, makes no sense, nor dollar bills to me? Also to note, sometimes when you try to deposit cash here, the reader doesn't correctly read the bills, then, spitting them back out to you in a wrinkly manner. It's annoying, what if other people are waiting or someone tries to rob you? I generally like using ATMs cause they're convenient but this one was such a drag. read more

Chase is the perfect example of a huge bank where the customer is a number. I used to have an equity credit line with Chase and it got suspended based on a payment problem in my credit report that Macy's had caused due to booking my payment against the wrong account. No personal interaction, a simply computer decision. When I tried to get ahold of actual people in Chase they were always conveniently hidden, for instance trying to reach anyone by using the web account I was told to call, and when I called I got a voice mail, etc. I will never bank with Chase again, I moved to a credit union for all my banking. read more

This bank is now Chase. This is probably one of the better of the Chase banks that I have been to where the employees are intelligent and friendly and efficient. This location is also great because the line never gets out of control. On the several times I have been here, there has been an employee at every register ready to help which gets me in and out quickly. I also love this place because I came here last week to exchange Taiwanese dollars and was nervous that it would take forever like it did when I tried to exchange at another Chase bank. Sherraine helped me exchange the money into US currency and into my bank account in less then 5 minutes! I am the CEO of a company here in Silicon Valley I came in today to the chase bank to open a new account with Chase. I just put my name on the sign in sheet and 10 minutes later somebody came around and will be right with you. Some people came in after I did put their name on the same sign in sheet and work quickly assisted with opening or working on their account. I was still waiting and nobody spoke to me about how long it would be. So when I was basically harassed by Banker BAO HOANG about wanting to make my cash deposit inside, instead of at the ATM, I was a little mad. I let him know, NO THANK YOU. I don't mind waiting. When I asked what difference it made, a document is a document, it shouldn't matter, he said the manager told him they make exceptions from time-to-time and to come in and they will do it. Really? I went to make a deposit into my savings at the ATM. After it had taken the checks, The ATM froze and a message popped up stating it was out of order. I walked into the bank and was told I needed to wait for a banker and unfortunately, the lobby was full so there would a a bit if a wait. I told the teller I was on a quick break and needed to get back to work. A gentleman who seemed to be the manager said they could take my name and phone number and call me later. Within 5 minutes, a young man called me to get more questions. He said he would call me back and did, within 5 minutes. He said they would have to contact the ATM company but they would put the money in my account and just dispute directly with the ATM company so my funds were available. I explained it was not a big deal as this was my savings and I wouldn't need it right away. He insists and said the funds would be available within 10 hours. This bank LOST MY DEPOSITS & DENIED IT! I deposited multiple checks into my account on a non-busy Thursday afternoon and after I took the receipt back to the teller to ask why my account balance had not increased after making multiple check deposits, the manager told me "The total balance will not show until about 2business days AFTER the deposits were made." This didn't sound one bit accurate, but since I already had the expected total amount, I'd just keep checking until my deposits clear and my account balance shows all of my checks deposited. A WEEK later, nothing. I still had my original balance with ZERO deposits showing. Clearly concerned, I went in with my husband and showed the same teller my receipt; he had absolutely no clue. I asked to speak with the manager, and she had no clue. They both tried to actually deter me from asking questions and tried to tell me to call next week...No way, I knew someone here had my checks and was not going to go one more week without knowing what exactly is going on. The manager Robin had no answers for me and and was completely unhelpful and unconcerned with the situation, her only concern was me not talking loud enough for the other customers to hear that an employee had stolen my money. So after getting NO help, I went home and contacted my lawyer as well as Chase Corporate. The corporate rep told me a branch audit was taking place, that the security tape showing my transaction had been recovered and my funds "are in the process" of returning to my account. Corporate would not tell me what exactly happened, just that an "error" on the tellers part "misplaced" my funds. Somewhat relieved, I waited and waited Days more, only to get a phone call ANOTHER WEEK LATER from chase saying " We're processing your request, call back to check if your deposits show up" unbelievable. I told the employee "No, this is not okay at all. I want my money TODAY, and much less I want to know why it's not in my account. What kind of a bank 'loses' a large amount of money???" Again, Robin get on the phone and tries to talk her way out of any answers! She couldn't even give an apology for this fiasco, instead she barks at me rudely, denying that my money is lost. She even had the nerve to yell over me, and then hang up when she got annoyed that I wasn't taking NO for an answer. Overall I waited THREE WEEKS FOR MY OWN MONEY BACK, and THIS BANK IS STILL DENYING THIS SITUATION HAS EVER HAPPENED. I only got the value of my paychecks deposited into my account after having my lawyer intervene with Corporate; and get this, the bank manager actually tried to charge me Overdraft fees! Another week of hell having my lawyer again dispute with corporate and Nearly 2 MONTHS later I withdrew every last dollar and went to TechCU. This bank is truly awful and I can't believe what I went through to get my own money that an employee had stolen. read more

I came in here to get a notary signature. The only person that was helping people wasn't a notary and told me there were several other employees that could help me. I waited for 40 minutes before someone finally became available to help. I had a hippa form to notarize but the employee told me he was new and would have to call a national notary service to find out if he could sign the form. Why couldn't he just ask one of his fellow employees to help him out? He then tells me that my form doesn't need a notary but he could not be a witness. He couldn't explain why not. The one form that I had for him to notarize (a simple power of attorney), he told me it would take about 15 minutes for him to review.
