I was informed when I opened my account that I would have a 24 hr overdraft protection, meaning, if I overdrafted, I would be allotted 24 hrs to bring my account into the positive before any overdraft charges would apply. However, this is not true. I made a deposit after work tomorrow to bring my account balance in the positive after overdrafting by $20 from earlier in the day. I made the deposit WITHIN 24 hrs/same day to assure there would be no overdraft charges. Then checking my balance today, I was charged 2 overdraft fees equaling $68. Why you ask?! Because you are NOT allotted 24hrs as I was misinformed, but are required to make the deposit same day by 11 pm (EASTERN)- I live in The pacific time zone. This is utter crap, and on principal alone, I will be searching for a new bank!!! read more

No restroom for Chase customers? Seriously?? Wow, you guys are just ASKING to get bombed by the Yelp community. So I go in there wanting to make a deposit and hoped to wash my hands and use the facilities first, and I was told very simply by one of the employees that Chase doesn't allow that. Way to make it a great customer experience there, Chase. It's common practice for businesses to have a restroom for customers or a public restroom, but this Chase branch on Ventura? Nooooope. Sorry, you'll have to go somewhere else if nature's calling. I called Chase corporate and they said that most branches do in fact have public restrooms and that customers not being allowed to use the restroom is NOT a company-wide policy. That means this branch is CHOOSING to disallow Chase customers access to a restroom. This is actually my first one-star review EVER. Yes, I am that forgiving. I took a $17,500 check from my sister, the last distribution from my inheritance into this branch to deposit. It was from a bank in Long Beach - 20 miles away. Even though I have been with Chase for over two years they placed a ten day hold on the deposit. The manager admitted that the check would clear within 48 hours, but the "computer" placed the hold so there was nothing they could do. After a lot of complaining, she said she would call the bank the check was drawn on the next morning at 10:00 and call me by noon. Having not heard from her, I called the bank at 1:00 and got a nonsense story that the originating bank wouldn't verify funds. I don't believe she ever called. Her solution was to have my sister jump through a bunch of hoops with her bank. Chase made no attempt to help me. I will close all of my accounts the minute the check clears. read more

I waited for 5 min before someone told me I'd be helped in a minute and 10 min later I'm still waiting as I see bankers just hanging out and chatting it up. I was a VP of private banking for almost 20 years. Now i am a business owner. I have banked at several different banks over the years, and NONE of them met my expectations until i started banking at Chase Studio City. i joined the Chase family when i walked in simply to take advantage of a $100 gift they were offering me, just for having a tiny little account for my son. I ended up moving my entire banking relationship over there after that one meeting. Firstly, they agreed to give me the $100 without expecting anything in return, even though I was past the deadline to receive it. They brought over a private client services person, Carlos, who was charming and knowledgable. then they introduced me to Brently, who promptly set up a meeting to go over our financial goals. Our meetings were exceptional; from their promptness, thoroughness, professionalism. you name it, it is everything i'd ever want from a bank. I told them that they remind me of the type of banking I used to provide when I was a private banking officer in the 90's. Since I signed on with Chase, I feel like a Queen every time i enter the branch. They jump through hoops for their clients to have a great experience. From the tellers, to the people downstairs, to the Private Client Officers and Investment staff, they are a FIRST RATE operation. I am VERY picky with my banking, and they have met all my expectations. read more

Since there was no sales incentive for him to help me with this, I was not optimistic about getting much help. However, Armen treated it like a priority, called IT and got it taken care of for me. Made an appointment to open up a business account. Arrived on-time to wait 30 minutes and not even a single person acknowledged my presence to check me in to my supposedly 30 minutes ago appointment. Do not use Sal Manzella as your loan officer. He pretends to help you at first but he lies and bullies you into signing with him. Chase also charges 500 dollars to start the loan process which other lenders do not charge a fee and give you the option to change your mind at anytime. I did go for a more cost effective offer the next morning and told Sal I wanted to stop the process from proceeding but he told me it is too late and I have already been charged. He told me initially he had charged my card in order to bully me into signing the first time and J had to get my brother involved. I am a single mom purchasing my first home and teach students with severe disabilities. If I Have any extra money I use it to support my students in class and chase took my money anyways. I asked them to make an exception and Sal said no. I contacted his manager and asked for an exception. He told me he would look into and see what he can do then he blew me off. Chase Bank has alleged "Chase Private Client" banking, and that means exactly nothing. Chase Bank is licensed to engage in banking, but that doesn't mean they have to follow the law and actually honor a check drawn on their bank. If people realized that their checks can be dishonored by Chase would they bank with Chase? Yesterday, I took a special check drawn on Chase where Chase had had the money for several years. Despite a court order forcing them to allow drafts to withdraw the monies, Chase decided it would just hold on to the money and refuse to cash any drafts or checks. This makes Chase 100% illegal. It is a crime to steal money from its rightful owner, but Chase steals your money and forces you to sue them. Chase is so illegal, just save yourself some time, as I have, and refuse to have anything at all to do with them. Down with Chase Bank. Avoid them. Hopefully, I'll get my money from them. By the way, branch manager Virginia Chavira confirmed that the funds were all good, but still refused to give me my money. Bad people. read more

Try calling the office sometime; they NEVER answer... all calls seem to get directed to a central Chase bank number. So if you have an issue with the office, the only way to get satisfaction is to visit it... which is a pain in the butt. The manager -- who hides behind the curtain much like the Wizard of Oz -- doesn't stand behind promises made by his (or her) staff. It's appropriate the office in the same building that formerly housed Washington Mutual; they were awful, too. read more

He treated me and my wife like crap (between us we have 4 accounts with Chase) and basically told us to go back to the branch where we got "preferential" service. We went there today to cash a check from a jewler that had an account there who was literally located down the street - the stupid bank demanded a $6.00 fee to cash the check just because WE didn't have an account there - I told them I used to have an account there for 20 years - I opened it way back when they were Great Western Bank - I told them I recently closed my account when they became Chase - they wouldn't even listen to me and they could have cared less that I had been a customer for 20 years - we talked to the manager and then the regular everyday main branch manager who was just as useless and assinine as the assistant manager. They both rudely said in their cold corporate sarcastic way - flat out - No, we could not cash the check there without paying the $6.00 fee - Now, I am wondering why Chase would need $6.00 so bad! This just makes me more happy that I closed my account with this stupid bank and gives me even more reason to never, ever step inside this cold-hearted bank again! I am so glad I opened an account at Wells Fargo - they are at least nice and will always do whatever it takes to make the customer happy - and they also will serve you Vanilla Latte's free of charge while you are waiting in line! I invested with Chase Investment Services about 4 years ago. I sat with one of their representatives and he set me up with a Roth IRA and another account that he called the "rainy day" fund that I ended up losing money and paying WAY too much money in maintenance fees! In fact, I just sold my shares and received a statement with the exact dollar amount I would be getting. Then Chase sends me a check with a different dollar amount and didn't even disclose a breakdown!! How do you do that? I had to call to find out, oh yes, just one more maintenance fee before you go!!! They have no idea what they are doing. They're dishonest and speak in circles just trying to make a commission off of you. I recently saw another maintenance fee added to my Roth and when I went to the branch on ventura blvd, Peter Afzal, looked at my paper work and said I had been wrongly charged. He said the fee would be waived. I then followed up only to find out he said "oops, I made a mistake, I can't waive your fee". You know, I work in the customer service industry as well and when you make a mistake you don't hold your customers accountable. He didn't even attempt to fix the situation he just keeps passing me off onto his assistant. This place is unprofessional and I will not use them anymore. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about the staff over at the Studio City, Chase location. They are always friendly and courteous. I was recently introduced to Peter A, thru my banker. I needed help on a 401k rollover and he helped me with it. He was so professional and asked a lot of questions so he could better understand my needs and wants. What I particularly liked the most, was that he wasn't trying to impress me with mountains of data and charts that mean nothing to me, but rather focused on the relationship building, which is really important. read more

Reason for 1 star is because of the guy who works in the parking lot. He constantly harasses customers and is extremely rude. His job is to clean trash not to attack people who park slightly over the white line when the parking lot is empty. This is not for a particular branch but, for all of Chase. They have horrible customer service and policies!!! They upped my payment dates without checking with me because of banking holidays. As if I dont choose those dates for particular reasons. They charged me late fees for online payments that were recieved late from Chase Banking to Chase Credit (same company)!! Then, as if that's not enough, they upped my APR because the payment was late even though it was their fault!! This bank has changed from Home Savings, to Wa Mu, to Chase and I never had these problems before. HATE CHASE!! read more
