    Living room/ kitchen

I absolutely fell in love with this place!! It's literally like apartments which blew my mind!! This place had everything you need to stove, fridge, to a living room! This is by far my favorite place to stay at! It's literally a perfect get away! Definitely my go-to getaway place if you ask me!

    The thermostat for our room!

We had a reservation for two nights. Our first night. We FROZE all night , they said they'd give us an upgrade, a VIP room. However it's the SAME room, just different building. So there was no comp for our horrible night, cold shower and loud room by the loud street. Then there was only two towels in the room. The front desk said we'd need to bring the dirty towels down to get new ones! I am not happy and will not come back. Who does that?

Disappointing. This has been my family's "go to" hotel for years since the days they were called Woodfin Suites. But as Chase, they have gone downhill somewhat. Here's my review of our very recent stay in a two-bedroom suite. Pros: Living room comfortable, fireplace screen and grate might need replacing, kitchen clean, two trash cans instead of one was nice. Cons: TV service SUCKS!! There's a delay, guide is useless, kept getting error message about signal, TV remote in my bedroom had the battery compartment taped over, kitchen cabinets had obvious moisture damage seemingly from the coffee maker steam, cheap silverware. My final complaint is that when we checked out around 9am, I went to get a cup of coffee. There was none! The dispenser was empty.

I'm posting the letter I sent to Chase Suite and Hotels. It's just too much to rewrite. To add the manager JD handles the issues and called a pest control/fumigation company and confirmed the presence of these insects. Room was quarantined per staff. Staff is courtesy and attentive. To add our second room was a bit better. We did find vape pipes and was really worn out. Owners need to take more responsibility. We plan on a short vacation and are willing to spend our hard earned money. Very unfortunate. They did offer refund and half off the rest of our stay. Nice gesture but still very unpleasant and will never never stay there again. Subject: Urgent Follow-Up Regarding Room Conditions at Chase Hotel Suites, Newark, California Dear Chase Hotel Suites Management, I hope this letter reaches you with a sense of urgency and understanding of the situation we encountered during our recent stay at your establishment. My purpose in writing this letter is to bring to your attention the events that transpired on 11/17/2023 and to emphasize the need for immediate action. Upon our late-night arrival at approximately 1:30 AM, my family and I were allocated room 803 in building number eight. Regrettably, the condition of the room was deplorable, with a significant infestation of roaches and bedbugs. I must commend the night manager for her kindness in offering an alternative room, expressing that, had she been on duty during the room assignment, she would not have assigned the room in question. After reluctantly repacking our belongings, we inspected the alternative room suggested by the night manager. While it was marginally better than the initial room--featuring fewer stains, no visible cockroaches, and a cleaner mattress with no immediate signs of bed bugs--it remains disheartening that such conditions were present in a room supposedly reserved for corporate employees. We ultimately decided, by around 2:30 AM, to accept this alternative room for a few hours. We refrained from fully unpacking and opted to shower quickly. Despite the night manager's efforts to assist us and her assertion that such complaints were unprecedented, the overall experience has left us deeply dissatisfied. It is with a sense of urgency that I implore you to investigate the conditions of the rooms in question thoroughly. The state of these accommodations falls far below the standards one would expect from a reputable establishment like Chase Hotel Suites. Additionally, it is disconcerting to learn that the room offered to us is typically reserved for corporate employees, suggesting a discrepancy in the quality of accommodations provided to various guests. Moreover, while the night manager attempted to address the situation with goodwill, it is concerning that basic amenities such as housekeeping were not readily available. Housekeeping should be a standard service, not a perk, especially when addressing issues as severe as those we encountered. I trust that you will treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves. I appreciate your prompt attention to this issue and look forward to hearing about the corrective measures taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

The shared microwave is definitely a downside to the hotel, as I really wish they had personal ones in each room readily available. They also have a Starbucks located in the first floor, but l've noticed that their staff never arrives at their opening time (6AM?) as advertised by the front desk. As for the rooms, they have their own mini fridge which is great for short stays. I can definitely overlook the two downsides of this hotel as The Courtyard is conveniently located next to restaurants/fast food chains and I can easily drive a couple minutes to the Starbucks nearby. P.S. Hopefully this hotel will look into fluffier pillows because their pillows are a little flat and stiff, but not at all unbearable.

One of their partners is Courtyard by Marriott. I reserved a room for two nights during Memorial Weekend. The reason I booked Courtyard Newark Silicon Valley was due to the swimming pool as I needed something to do on my staycation. I came here Saturday afternoon. The guest room is spacious enough. The bed was really comfy. The staff was really nice. The lobby was clean and organized. I even like the Keurig coffee machine inside the room that had some coffee pods. There's a cafe opened in the morning when you can buy coffee and hot food. Despite all the positive attributes of this Marriott I gave the rating I did because I came for a staycation. After I checked-in on a Saturday afternoon I tried to swim in the swimming pool. Noticed I said "tried", but the swimming pool was cold. I ended going to the whirlpool. The next day on a Sunday I came back to the swimming in the afternoon. I noticed the debris from trees in the pool. There are a lot of trees around the pool. With the abundance of trees this pool needs to be cleaned constantly. During my stay there not only was the pool cold but also dirty. If I had to stay at another Courtyard by Marriott it wouldn't be here.

Everything is falling apart. Across two separate stays, in two different rooms (a 2‑bedroom and a 1‑bedroom), we had the same trash‑level issues: broken light fixtures hanging down in fridge, nasty old pull‑out sofas, uncomfortable beds, ripped curtains and a sour smell that hits you the second you walk in. Both stays, our keys demagnetized nonstop, which was just the cherry on top of the chaos. Breakfast? A joke. Overcooked eggs and i think it was meat every day, waffles only on weekends, no juice machine, and the whole area is swarmed by people (whole familes) who clearly aren't even staying at the hotel that were rough and loud characters. And let me be blunt: as a woman, I would never stay here alone. This place feels neglected, unsafe, and completely mismanaged. It needs a full renovation and a leadership overhaul.

He made sure to remind me that he was doing me the favor of taking some time in his office to speak to me. The Front Office Manager, Maria Lopez Soto.. I'm not sure if she was protecting me from him or vice versa. The entire front desk staff seemed to do everything in their power to protect each other. Loved ones of staff were constantly on property, only assuming they were not paying guests as these same people were seen hopping the pool fences and not tapping room keys. Marriott Bonvoy employees (they told me straight out that they worked for the company) were right there celebrating with them. It's very apparent that they don't want their endless summer to be taken away from them. Already anticipating the responses and Yelp cover ups that will be taking place after this review. They made it very apparent that they hated me: I was welcomed to this Residence Inn by 3 men peeing on the wall right outside of my hotel room window. Grown men were yelling in the lobby and up and down the halls all night long. Boyfriends of employees parked in front of the hotel blasting music at full volume all day. Adults hopped the fence into the pool area to get drunk and smoke weed and run around for hours on end night after night. Couldn't use the jacuzzi due to deathly allergy to smoke inhalation but begged them to have this area usable for me for just one night of my stay. Instead, the drunken, puking, reefer, sex party was still continuing in that hot tub that same night. Zero cameras on property and staff used this as a way to try to gaslight me into believing that complaints I made weren't real. Staff would knock on the door and immediately use their hotel keys to open it and try to walk in, even after I'd yell that I had just gotten out of the shower and was naked. I would be told that the hotel had security but after staying on property for 5 days straight I didn't see them more than once. I was asked to instead provide the last names of strangers so identities could be found and issues could be resolved, obviously impossible. Used the laundry services and my clothes smelled like mold, mildew, and diarrhea. Had to pack up all of my stuff in the middle of my stay to move to the property next door. Staff rolled their eyes at me and talked about me under their breath during my entire stay because I was unhappy about the things that were continuously happening and how unseriously I was being taken. Treated like an inconvenience for not being able to get sleep or work done and instead physically ill from the stress of feeling dangerously unsafe. Came home to my legs and ankles so swollen I can barely walk. My health issues were exasperated by the stress and fear brought onto me while at Residence Inn Newark. To the point that I'm not eating, barely sleeping, and on the toilet 10+ times a day. Bolting awake at night from a dead sleep with severe anxiety that another man is going to come through my hotel room door. Spent hours on the phone with corporate and was promised phone calls and emails from hotel management, which they never delivered on it. Was told issues were escalated to upper management and even told elaborate stories on how these managers actually dealt with the situation behind the scenes. Same managers knew nothing of these events taking place the very next day when I asked them face to face. Was offered $0 in compensation nor any kind of resolution for what I experienced. This is all just the tip of the ice berg to the horrors of what to expect at this property. Fun place if you want to party it up. Not a nice place if you want to be treated as a valuable customer whose right to feel safe is considered.

Looks like it's there permanently. Okay - it's funny to review a Hyatt Place because, on the surface, they're supposed to all be the same. And, really, staying in a chain hotel isn't as much fun as a local inn or privately owned boutique hotel, right? But with the World of Hyatt award program, we tend to stay in them for one-nighters when we're traveling from A-to-B, or to see a one-night event somewhere. I see differences even across the predictable model of suite-like rooms, the predictable breakfast items, and of course, the level of service. Okay - all that said, this property did pretty well upon my first visit last week! Check-in staff was friendly (but I had to ask for my World of Hyatt member free water). Parking is $10/night, not too terrible for Silicon Valley. The free full breakfast was as expected (and very, if not exactly, the same as in every US Hyatt Place): a fresh fruit salad option, a thawed frozen fruit option, oatmeal and toppings, a hot bar (this day had 1-egg omelets, cooked from frozen potato cubes, dry biscuits, and exceptional banger-like sausages- which were much better than the usual hotel sausage patty!). Loose oranges and bananas. Cereals, hard boiled eggs. Very good and plentiful coffee at breakfast. They had tv on playing a local morning news program and staff was doing a good job keeping the dining area clean. The room was clean and in good repair. I like their ottoman / coffee table in the sitting area and the side table that you can pull up to the bed if you're eating takeout in your room at night. There's also the usual wall-length desk/counter with a mini fridge. The coffee station is the old kind (not Keurig) with disposable plastic trays with a filter-bag of bad coffee for a one-cup situation. But it's on a counter by the door, along with the ice bucket and a few glasses, like a little bar. I liked that except that the outlet didn't work, so I had to plug the coffee maker in somewhere else in the room. Not a big deal. The bathroom is big and they're using their standard refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the big, nice shower (with sliding glass door, not a plastic curtain- Hilton, take a note). Front desk was always friendly when I passed by and I saw they had a nice bar and lobby sitting area, though I didn't use either. Parking lot in front and back was well-lit and felt safe. The location is in a sea of car dealerships but there's a neighborhood behind it with trees and a sidewalk so you could take a walk easily here. Also, there's a Costco down the street, which was bananas busy when I stopped in for some discounted liquor, but still convenient for gas and what have you. I'd return!
