Stopped in for dinner after playing golf at Lake Fork GC and what an amazing find!! Don't let the fact that this great restaurant sits inside the Best Western hotel. Most diamonds are hidden gems. Chef Elle was a joy to talk to and get to know. But the gold in this treasure is/was the food!! The Passionate Spinach Salad was definitely one of the best salads we've had and to top it off, the PERFECTLY COOKED 6-8 oz filet plus the asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes made this meal one of the best steak meals we've had - EVER!! We've been blessed to eat at several "Best Steakhouses" in the country from Dallas to Houston, New York to Vegas and Florida to California. This definitely deserves a place in that Top 10 list. Don't go expecting to rush in, place your order and have it sitting on your plate and be out the door in 30 minutes. If that's what you want, head to your local chain steakhouse. My husband made a reservation a month ago.. it was not recorded.. We were greeted by Anne ( who was very sweet) Chef came in and was flustered as our reservation was not on the books .. but they were going to take care of us!! We orders tomato bisque- it was very good After much discussion we settled for bruschetta ( hubs doesn't like tomatoes but we were done arguing w Chef) we had wanted a cheese plate -- but they didn't have all the cheeses.---- We ordered filets - mine was fine His was tough and very chewy-- even cooked Med Rare.. 6 minutes ago Had a reservation at 7 pm tonight. date: 3/19/2021 Seated at table order wine and and then order off menu. Selected soups we wanted from menu and 15 minutes latter was told the soups we ordered were not available. Tried to push a soup we did not want on us from the chef and told her again we did not want the soup she had fixed. She had a bad attitude problem. Came back 10 minutes latter and was told the steak I order would take a hour to cook so I selected a smaller steak and told chef I wanted well done. She was pissed I wanted my steak cook this way. Said she was not serving us and was told to leave. These are the facts. If you don't have the items on your menu. why list them on the menu? Very bad experience. Chef was rude to her customers. Absolute joke. This is NOT a bistro. This is a closet with a hot plate in a best western. Since there was no other place to eat we actually had to make a reservation in an empty dining room. The so called chef didn't even bother to show up and the whole 3 reservations were canceled. They didn't even bother to call anyone so we waited 2 hours on an empty restaurant and had to find somewhere else to eat. Stick with heating up eggs for the continental breakfast and leave the real cooking to actual chefs. read more

Chef Elle continues to grace NE Texas with her Le Cordon Bleu Paris trained culinary gifts and warm hearted charm. This is her latest venture in Emory Texas. We enjoyed a simple and elegant meal on a Thursday evening when crowds were lighter which also afforded us the benefit of welcomed conversations with Chef Elle. She suggested an excellent wine pairing with our dinner which included French Onion soup, a crisp house salad, and Ribeye steaks cooked to perfection and accompanied with Yukon Gold potatoes and Asparagus. We finished our meal with a pistachio ice cream "Grasshopper". We love this place and will be back again and again. read more

All I can say is WOW!! Honestly, I don't think I can properly rate this place as high as it should be. I love our small towns and our businesses. But to say fine dining in a hotel would underrate the quality of service and food! I have never eaten a steak as good as I did tonight. From the beginning, the appetizer phenomenal, steak better than imaginable, and the carrot cake with coffee to end it all was absolutely amazing! Better than any chan Steak house that I have ever been in. And all of this in the quiet town of Emory! If you want a special date night without fighting a ton of traffic, ease over to the Best Western Hotel in Emory and treat yourself and your loved ones to an extraordinary experience that I am sure you will treasure. What a joke!!!! We were staying the night in the hotel and decided to try a bite to eat. When we went downstairs to eat we stood at the door waiting forever before someone came to talk to us. Finally, they asked if we had a reservation. We didn't so we apologized. They asked us to come back in 30 minutes and they could get us in. So we came back at the time they asked and acted like they had no idea what we were talking about but said they would seat us anyway. They treated us like we were an inconvenience. Keep in mind there were only 4 tables seated out of the 10 tables available. Once seated they said they would be right back to take out order. 45 minutes later the lady came by and said she would get our order. At the same time the owner/manager peeked through the door and said don't take their order yet..... so after 45 minutes from when we were seated we still didn't have our orders taken. Not even a drink order. So we got up and left. Don't waste your time! The owner just came by to apologize to each table every 15 minutes. I never even saw food on a table. read more

Gave Elle a deposit for 50 percent down for our wedding and requested a refund after 6 weeks and more than 4 months before the wedding date and received no catering services and she has stalled on returning our money to us and had to file a credit card claim. Elle maybe a wonderful chef but we have no idea. We put down a deposit for her catering our wedding on October 20 back in the first week of May. In the following weeks I attempted to get a more specific quote from Elle in regards to linens and labor and other details of the wedding and she stalled for many weeks. When I started to run out of patience she then finally responded but tried to sell me on a wedding planner for over $1000 more. She originally sold me on the statement that she was more than just a caterer and that they would took care of their customers and they don't just deliver the food. Supposedly They're very detailed in serving and cleaning up afterwards etc. However when requesting to get these details in writing she would get defensive and boast about how she had been doing this for 30 years. What is confusing is if she's done this for so long why does it take her almost 3 weeks to get a quote for renting linens for 100 people for a wedding dinner? We've had one excuse after the other her I.e., her office assistant was out for a death in the family and then out we don't hear from her because she got a new iPad and the excuses go on and on and on. When we requested the refund last Saturday she began to inundate me with texts and wouldn't respond in writing via email and only wanted to talk over the phone however she made it very difficult for us to make an appointment to have a phone conversation with her when we requested one a week ago. I lost my patience and gave it over to my fiancé and he even got frustrated with her after about a week ago requesting the same things I was trying to get from her.Now that we want our $2000 back she saying she's never had to process a refund and she doesn't know how to do it! What!? When I made my deposit with her I gave her my information directly but now that we've requested a refund now my fiancé is getting a text from her supposed CPA and we need to wait a few days. This is not how I like to do business. I hope we get this resolved soon and I hope she returns our money quickly and I'm writing this to warn others she may be great for catering a small event in your home but yet we have still not had a chance to try her food and we're tired of waiting around for the details of her wedding that will be in four months. She claims to be very busy but if she's not going to put us as a priority after having our money I'm very leery of trusting her to follow through with the details of our wedding.I'm very disappointed and I'd really look forward to working with her but there's just too many situations with her not communicating and not being specific and contradicting herself that make me doubt her. I don't know folks but I just picked up a lot of weird vibes and saw a lot of red flags and like I said we're waiting for a refund and her contract says fully refundable within 30 days of event but yet we have no refund. I'll keep you posted. 8/3/18 We finally got our money back ONLY because we filed this issue with our credit card company and had proof of Elle's receipt stating that if cancelled within 30 days of event is was fully refundable. It's sad to me that Elle wasn't willing to honor her own contract and tried to charge us for linens she purchased and for her time checking out the venue once we filed this with our credit card company. Wife and I stopped by this new eatery. I am glad we did!! A small 5 table place but oh so good!! Started out with their Deli Tea (Arnold Palmer). Very good. Wife had the Turkey and Cheese Sandwich with Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Basil Pesto. I tried a bite and it was absolutely delicious!! I had the Tomato Basil soup to start. Rich and Creamy. I then tried a new Turkey and Cheese that tasted more like Ham than Turkey. I had Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Mayo on the sandwich. It was also delicious!! Ended with a piece of Carmel Cheesecake. So rich and smooth it was decadent!! Both sandwiches were warmed up and served on a Natural Ciabatta bread that was outstanding. The Grand Opening is Feb. 4, 2017. What an enchanting Bistro. Located right beside the post office in Emory so not right on Highway 69. Definitely worth stopping by. We had the tomato basil soup for starters and the flavor was amazing. And ... you can order this soup "to-go" so it'd be perfect for any party. A sandwich and a frittata graced our table next. Once again, the flavors were spot on. If you are from Emory and haven't visited this Bistro, shame on you! There is no need to drive into a big city to find these flavors; support your local Bistro. We interrupted them decorating for Christmas but once that is completed the ambience should be very quaint. They have a Chateau Bistro Club you can sign up for and they will keep you apprised of wine-tasting events, specials, etc. We didn't have time for dessert...but we shall be back! What a perfectly hidden gem in Emory, TX. We recently moved to the area and have driven by a few times. Curiosity got the best of me today, and I made a reservation. We were greeted at the door by David, and the service was exceptional the entire night. We happened to go on a night that we were the only ones there. David and Chef Elle both waited on us, and were very friendly. I ordered the ribeye, and my girlfriend ordered the salmon. Both came out perfect as ordered. The blackberry wine reduction on the steak was so well balanced. A little acidic, not too sweet, and very rich! The salmon was some of the freshest salmon I've had. I'm not a salmon guy, but I tried a bite of it and I may order it next time. The crunchy coconut on the exterior with the tender fish inside complimented each other very well. We both had the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus as our sides. The potatoes were amazing. This is our new local favorite spot. read more

My family went to eat here. It took 40 mins to get a glass of tea and hour and half to get food. We were not asked how we like our steak and fish. The steak was burn't and way too spicy. The fish was still little frozen in the middle. My family was treated poorly. We will not spend another dime in that restaurant. read more

Such a wonderful place! We celebrated my husband's birthday at the Bistro Friday night and the food and service was phenomenal. We started with the soup, I had French Onion and my husband had the featured Potato Leek, both were delicious. The special was a Ribeye, with asparagus and Yukon gold potatoes. We both ordered the steak, served with a reduction sauce that was amazing, and they were prepared perfectly! Since we were celebrating a birthday, we were offered a choice of dessert and my husband chose the carrot cake which he proclaimed was the best he had ever eaten Elle, the owner and chef was so warm and friendly, making sure that the night was perfect! I never expected anything quite like this in such a small town. Excellent food! I took my sister and mother here to eat, and the food was amazing. Everything was so full of flavor! We started out with very light and refreshing berry iced tea. The potato-leek soup was DIVINE. The ham-vegetable quiche was superb and full of wonderful flavor, and the VERY FRESH salad greens with a very light champagne dressing....wow! We then had a lemon-type brûlée, which was like Disneyland in our mouths We ended with huge cups of coffee, which were just as amazing. I've had the pleasure to eat at Chateau Bistro several times over the past few years. Yesterday my husband and I ate at the newest location, just outside of Emory, TX. The owner/chef, Elle, is a highly trained French chef, specializing in delicious & healthy French fusion cuisine. We had French onion soup, carrot-ginger soup, eggs Benedict, an enormous steak with asparagus & potato gratin, and THE MOST DELICIOUS cheesecake I've ever eaten. Everything was cooked to perfection, in a cozy & laid back atmosphere. This is not fast food - we had a 4 hour lunch yesterday; nor is it cheap - but you get what you pay for. Food was okay. I was not impressed with much after reading the reviews. We had a small group, two couples. The steaks were good, however the chef would not let us have our steaks cooked how we wanted them. She kept recommending how to cook them, as well as what dressing I would want with my salad. I told her what I wanted and she still ave me what she wanted. My boyfriend wanted his steak medium and she kept explaining that she needed to cook it medium-rare. He was finally like whatever just go cook it. Is friend asked for a steak cooked medium, she is the same thing, to him. When he told her he wanted it cooked medium she seemed extremely offended. It was ridiculously priced, for Emory. Our wine and beers were hot. The chef kept getting upset and treated us as if we were inferior to her. She even asked if we knew how to eat edamame.
