Y'all. This place is AMAZING. We were traveling and didn't get stopped until late. Like, LATE. We walked in at 9:32. They welcomed us right in and let us order whatever we wanted from a kitchen that was probably all but closed up for the night. And it was SO good. The best shrimp scampi I've ever had. The staff was great, the ambiance was great, and the food was great. Just wish it would've been daylight so we could've seen the exterior! Highly recommend! read more

A great meal experience. Restaurant is older in a group of trees but is cozy with lots of wood and a fireplace. They had several big groups at tables but our meal was served promptly to our group of four. Great service. We had chicken piccata, eggplant Parmesan, salmon piccata. All were served with a nice salad and warm fluffy rolls. We had the lemon cake and tiramisu for dessert. Both were excellent. It's BYOB so don't forget the wine! read more

Visited here for the 1st time a week ago. Atmosphere was comfortable and the appropriate setting for its location by Lake Fork. I am a major food guy so I am going to preface this with the quality of the food was good and now I will give you my opinion. Service was great. We ordered garlic cheese bread, it was good but nothing that made me go Wow, the salads were your typical dinner salads you get at most Italian restaurants. For entrees we ordered Chicken Marsala & Chicken Verona, both were large portions and my wife loved the Verona. As for me, I order Chicken Marsala most every chance I get. A lot of Italian restaurants add cream or marinara to the sauce, however they did not at Verona which was perfect and I loved it. We did not save any room for desserts. The star is only for the waitress tonight or it would be zero stars. We have been eating at Verona Italian cafe for many, many, many years. I have ordered pizzas, subs and Stromboli's to eat there and to go. Tonight I ordered my favorite the chicken parmigiana and it always comes with a salad and it is served with spaghetti. I received my order tonight and took 4 bites of the chicken and then a bite of the spaghetti which I thought tasted a little odd. So I smelled it and it smelled like something sour. I then asked my wife to smell it and she told me that it smelled like vomit. I asked the waitress to smell it and she asked two of the other waitresses to smell it and they thought it smelled bad as well. The manager was going to take it off my bill according to the waitress but the owner said it was the parmigiana that I put on it that made it smell the way it did. The owner nor the manager never came to my table to discuss the issue and like I said the owner said it was the parmigiana that made it smell sour. My statement was if that's the parmigiana causing it to smell sour then they needed to replace the parmigiana shaker that was on the table. I told the waitress that she could tell the owner that he could eat the food that was left on the plate which i referred to it as poop. I paid my full bill and left a good tip for the waitress but the owner has lost a loyal customer that has been going to his establishment for many years. He is all about the money and showed that he could care less about customer service. read more

They have gotten such bad the food I ordered was ROTTEN and stunk like vomit several smelled and agreed. I took one bite and spit it out. My wife smelled and was so bad she couldn't eat her dinner . All I ask was for the dinner be taken off my bill but owned said No there was nothing wrong with it, I've gotten this several times and was very good he wouldn't even take part off. We had a very nice dinner at Verona's. The food was excellent and service was courteous and efficient. I had the Chicken Marsala and my wife had the Chicken Fettuccini in Vodka sauce. Good portions, hot and delicious. Just remember, if you're planning on drinking, its BYOB. I brought a good bottle of wine and it went perfectly with our meal. The food was great as always. However, the menus were damp, difficult to read and they smelled like mildew. Gross! We told the waitress, but she didn't seem to care. I had to wash my hands several to get the smell out. Just didn't feel like a clean environment. The restaurant was very damp and humid. We do NOT recommend Veronas. We watched while they brought incorrect orders to an adjacent table. Then they delivered our food....all except my husband's sandwich. When they finally brought his steak & cheese sub....it had no mayo. We attempted to return it to the kitchen as they do not carry mayo at all....that the waitress and cooked failed to notify us. Both the manager and owner said they had to charge us. NO sense of service!! read more

What a wonderful Italian jewel in an out of the way place to find. My wife and I had lunch at Verona on Sunday and enjoyed our experience very much. We both enjoyed the crisp salad served with our meals followed by Salmon Verona for me, a generous portion of salmon in a white wine sauce with capers over a bed of Angel hair pasta, and Tutti del Mar for my wife, a generous selection of seafood in marinara sauce served over linguini. The meals were accompanied by hot fresh homemade rolls. Molly was our server and gave us outstanding friendly service. Verona's food has remained consistently good every since they opened a few years ago. Something that is difficult to obtain in the wait staff. But the food is alway tasty and satisfying. I was at Lake Fork visiting some relatives and we were looking for a place to eat nearby that wasn't a chain and wasn't closed on weekends. Our party of 6 arrived around 11:30 am and were the only customers for most of our lunch. The waitress was attentive and somewhat knowledgeable about the menu. We started with complimentary yeast rolls and real butter. Everyone's order arrived correctly and in a timely fashion. My sister-in-law was surprised that the small pizza was 12" and ended up taking most of it home with her. Her husband had a grilled chicken salad and was able to change dressings after sampling my tomato basil vinaigrette. He'd never seen chunks of fresh mozzarella before, so was kind of puzzled to find some thick white slices that weren't chicken or mushrooms. My niece also had a grilled chicken salad. The chicken was well-seasoned, pounded thin and sliced fairly thin, covering a bed of mixed greens. Her husband had the lunch special lasagna, which he finished quickly, complimenting the chef. My partner had the lunch special spaghetti with meat sauce. He enjoyed it saying it was a thicker spaghetti, but good quality and the meat sauce was very garlicky. I had the fettuccine carbonara (no black olives) which had a mild cream sauce, strips of Italian ham and slices of mushrooms. There was a shaker of a garlic powder-based seasoning salt on the table and I liberally dosed my plate with it to bump up the flavor a bit. The only time the we had to wait on the staff was at the end of the meal because another party had arrived and was seated in the other room. The waitress handled the 3-way split checks well, although I'm glad we didn't have a more complicated arrangement since it was all done on adding machine tape. read more
