1/5 - Overpriced, Elitist, and Unbelievably Disappointing I never write negative reviews(in fact if you see my review history I only leave 5 star reviews, and this is my first 1-star review), but this disaster couldn't be ignored. We dropped $431 for two people, and the service was a complete joke. It felt like we were at a fast-food chain instead of what was supposed to be an upscale dining experience. Our waiter, Bashir, greeted us with a casual "okay, what do you want" as if we were ordering at a drive-thru. No explanation of the menu, no flexibility with any adjustments we politely requested--just straight-up dismissive. To make matters worse, I expressed my frustration to a higher-up that I literally ran into in the bathroom. Guess what? Absolutely nothing was done. They didn't care. This restaurant charges top dollar but offers zero service. It's the definition of elitist and overpriced, and the bad reviews you see are absolutely true. Sure, Nema was great, but even she couldn't make up for the overall disaster of this experience. And here's the kicker: the menu clearly states a mandatory 20% gratuity is automatically added, so we were forced to pay for Bashir's awful attitude and poor service. No way out. Honestly, this place is your typical Miami rip-off, riding on the back of an expensive location with no substance behind it. If you're not a "member," they treat you like you're invisible. I watched Bashir give much better service to the tables around us, while we were left with indifference. Yes, the food was good, but I don't go to a restaurant just for the food--I can cook great meals at home. I go for the experience, and this one left me deeply disappointed. Do yourself a favor: avoid this place like the plague unless you want to throw away hundreds for nothing more than a frustrating, overpriced evening. Never going back. First Service:the staff is very welcoming and efficient. Ambiance: The physical location is very pretty but the experience is not intimate or romantic because of the closeness of tables and EXTREMELY LOUD NOISE level it was necessary to shout across our table so my wife and a could communicate. There were other dining rooms and area that might be less noisy so it worth inquiring when you arrive Food was good but not spectacular we split a Caesar salad four tortillas to make tacos with wagyu steak, Porchetta (crispy pork belly) and three very large shrimp. We ended the meal with the churros which were by far the best thing we had to eat. We're from LA and this was literally the most expensive meal for two we've ever ordered (not counting the $25 plus tip valet parking fee) our meal came to $710. Including a 20% service charge. If we did go again, which is not highly probable but possible, I would definitely leave off the wagyu steak steak for $305 and opt or the $90 ribeye. The three large and tasty shrimp for $59 in the Porchetta is $49 were ok - the churros $19.. This was definitely too much food for the two f us and in hindsight we should have left off one of the proteins (my wife had a glass of wine, and I had an Arnold Palmer) Although the address is listed as 1500 Brickell the property is on the corner of 15th St. and Brickell and the only entrance is on 15th St. So if you're just following Google maps and looking for 1500 Brickle St. on Brickell, you will not find it. This place is terrible. Food was ok (tried the guacamole) but the drinks are disgusting. They lack balance and are incredibly flat. It's a stunning venue, love the wood on the ceiling. This place was off the charts incredible from arrival. Customer service was excellent, grounding us in the history of the establishment and later great suggestions with f&b. No dish was just OK - everyone at the table was raving after every bite tried from the elevated Mexican menu. Chateau ZZ's is a lovely experience for a group. Hospitality since you walk through the door is amazing. Staff steps out of the way to make room for you to pass and make your way to your destination. The bar staff while waiting for your table is wonderful . Food is amazing! Highly recommend the spicy tuna and wagyu truffle tostadas. The ribeye was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the sea bass, the chips and guacamole, the wagyu truffle starter and a watermelon cocktail that was incredible. My only hesitation is that this place is expensive - and sometimes a bit unreasonable. My entree was expensive but it was the $21 chips and guacamole that was a little crazy to me. They do not offer any complimentary chips or bread to start. Tip is automatically included. I felt like I hadn't really ordered much but the bill was $153 for one person and I limited my drinks. The most amazing restaurant I've been to in Miami. The food is delicious and the ambiance is gorgeous. You really feel the vibe! The velvet furniture, the beautiful florals, the lighting and the linens. We were a table of 3 and order a little bit of everything. Street corn, lobster and jalapeño, rice, wagu, branzino and some incredible drinks. Our server Nola was a joy. She was knowledgeable of the entire menu and was able to offer additional items to pair with what we ordered. The price point was great as well. The food was good but the service is not what it should be for the price you are paying. We paid about $250 a person and we were pouring ourselves our wine. The waiter was curt and when we told him we were having a hard time hearing him over how loud it was (keep in mind we are in our late 20s-30s) he told us "too bad" because he wasn't going to raise his voice any higher. First, there is zero information on the website. Nothing about parking, which is important in Brickell. The phone number doesn't work, and no one responds to the email. No parking but there is valet. I didn't get the cost of it. I did street parking. If you're lucky you can find something on 15th. The service was great. The building is very nicely decorated inside. My friend liked the house music they played, but the place is super dark and I saw several guests using their phones to read the menu. I think they're missing an opportunity to play on the history of the building- no mention inside at all. No historic photos, or summary in the menu. The food was not that good. We got the guacamole, wagyu tostados, corn elote, snapper and beans. We both got a cocktail also. The good news is that the entrees are meant to be shared so the price shared. The food for the most part lacked flavor, except the beans and elote which were flavorful, though still nothing that wowed me. I won't be craving anything for a second visit, let's say. I don't think I've ever had an experience in Miami like the TERRIBLE one I had at Chateau ZZs. I would NOT recommend this restaurant. I can tell the service is focused on members so if you're not a member don't bother. I showed up 30 minutes early to my reservation and we sat at the bar. We had a wonderful experience at the bar and the bartenders took great care of us. My husband went to the desk three times to ask about our table and we were finally seated 10 mins after our reservation time although there were several empty seats. 10 minutes later, we asked the attendant for water since no one came to our table. 20 minutes later we were able to order (wagyu, rice, peppers and spinach) pretty simple. After 30 minutes of waiting for the meal, I asked the server where our food was and she responded with "Your steak is resting." At this point, I was ready to leave because wagyu takes 5 minutes to cook. The steak finally came out cold and the sides a few minutes later. We left after waiting 90 minutes for steak, rice, peppers and spinach. The servers need additional training and/or assistance because the experience was so bad. I will not be returning. I forgot to mention that our food allergy was documented in our reservation, I told the server and they still brought out tortilla chips that were fried in the same oil as our allergen. Thank God I paid attention and asked before eating. read more

Being a big fan of Major Food Group, I wanted to try this spot despite the mixed reviews. So glad I did as it was a great experience from the beautiful decor to flavorful dishes. Yes the guac was $20 but it was excellent. Other favorites were the squash blossoms, large shrimp, branzino, and churros. Each item has its own unique flavors ending with churros that tastes like eggy French toast with a crispy outside and buttery soft inside dipped in carmel. Surpassed my expectations! The other reviews had lowered my expectations on food and service but everything we ordered was flavorful and we enjoyed literally every bite. Service was wonderful, and the dining room beautiful and provided a lovely evening ambience. It was pricy, that's the only negative I could see anyone complaining about but it's to be expected for MFG restaurants and high end dining today in general. Cool spot for drinks or to grab dinner with a few friends. It's fancy, so make sure you dress the part or at least just don't wear joggers nor basketball shorts. The restaurant has an indoor seating area as well as an outdoor one, which in my opinion, is the best area to sit in and actually enjoy the vibes. Service was impeccable, and the waiters are very knowledgeable and always around. It's a good restaurant to go with friends to order a few appetizers and entrees to share. The spicy margaritas were pretty good and their steak al Pastor was very flavorful and decent enough to share. I am from Mexico City and their menu is not authentic ,starting their Japanese wagyu filet "Al Pastor" for 150.00 they have no idea what Al Pastor means. By the way prices are not on the website, but the worst part is that we went for my friend's birthday, we were 4 people spent over 800.00 and when we asked for them to bring dessert for her birthday they said we didn't order any. The service couldn't have been better. Our main waiter, Justin, knew how to sell every single dish on the menu and made us want to try everything. The Somalier asked us great questions and picked a wine great for our meal choice. The Lobster main course is by far the most delicious thing I've tasted in a while. First off, I had no idea what to expect since my friend booked the dinner. I just wanted Mexican food. I had passed the location a million times and was just excited that it finally opened. The interior is absolutely superb, along with a very hip ambiance in a historic French Chateau (hence the name). This is THE SEXY restaurant in Brickell to book. The wait staff was extremely attentive and answered all of our questions regarding the menu selections. The food was great and I would have given Chateau ZZ a perfect 5 based on the eclectic music selection that mirrored my childhood. Bring ear plugs. I'm not one to complain about noise but my ears hurt just remembering the experience last night. Between sitting at the ultra low banquets--kids table anyone! to having speakers hidden in the banquets itself--think bad Disney ride with no thrills, muffled music and literally having to lean in and scream over the noise to my friends. It was exhausting. NOT a fine dining experience no matter how high the prices are. (All complemented by four expensive but misplaced speakers in the high ceiling corners just adding to the cacophany.) Hire a sound guy for god's sake. I'm baffled by the bad reviews and I am a tough customer. This place avoided all of the usual Miami issues - polite and friendly hostess, nice lounge while you wait for your table, and very friendly and efficient service. Those things are hard to come by, especially in Brickell! On to the food and drinks. Enjoyed a delicious margarita and loved the dishes. Shrimp cocktail made me feel like I was back in Mexico, loved the ham and egg tostada, albondigas were not overcooked and were rich in a delicious sauce, loved the salad and beans. Gorgeous house with delicious food. The large format fish, chicken or steak is the way to go. Felt that we were back in Mexico City.

Half of the menu was sold out by the time we were sat. Note that we were sat 45 mins after our reservation time, and at this point it was too late to even go to another restaurant. The waiter then waited 15 mins after we were sat to tell us everything was sold out. The only available entrees were pork, beef and shellfish. No fish or chicken, so 2/3 of our party could not eat the entrees for religions reasons or dietary restrictions. The spicy tuna tostada was good, but very disappointed that we had to make dinner out of a few available appetizers. Very subpar dining experience for $100 each pp. read more
