They have a list of signature sandwiches on crusty Italian bread. You can make your own sandwich combinations. Full Italian specialties supermarket with fresh baked bread and pastries. Known for their fresh ravioli, manicotti, stuffed shells and cavatelli. They offer different options and flavors in frozen foods section Let's not forget they cater - your dinner-your party- or special occasion. I have passed by this location many times but never stopped to check. We were waiting for people in another shop and I wandered in. The selections of pastas was amazing. The fresh foods and cheeses. Picking up lunch at Pastosa Ravioli today was a great experience. This was my first time here, but I've had this place bookmarked for a while. Besides the deli, the store itself has so many delicious food options. I ordered The Signature sandwich for lunch. This is a huge breaded chicken cutlet with homemade mozzarella and roasted red peppers with balsamic. The bread, from Brooklyn, is perfect. I ordered the half sandwich, but honestly it was so large, I split it with my wife for lunch. I really enjoyed The Signature, but there are many other great sounding sandwiches on their menu. I'll be back for those and next time, I'm picking up one of those mouth watering pastries by the counter! read more

Genuinely like some of the items here and have been coming for a while, however i am reconsidering ever coming back at this point because the front girls attitudes are so gross and unfriendly and it has been that way for quite some time. Picked up sandwiches, and a serving of lasagna (around $10 for three-quarters of a pound, pricing on the website is dated). The common thread: both the sandwiches and the lasagna were far too salty to eat. I love lasagna. And their composition was looking good, solid noodle-meat-sauce-cheese mix. But by god, I had to throw half of it away because I couldn't take how salty it was. That made me very sad given my expectations... and hungry. read more

The food is a great surprise especially the frozen chicken meals most of the staff is excellent except today the checker said that was I paying in card or cash I said card and I asked if I used debit card she said that it is the same as credit. I beg to disagree debit card is the same as cash. After the transaction was finished the little snip repeated under her breath cash or card. I think you should screen you checkers a little better. Love all of the cheese, cured and uncured salami and sausage selections. Any time I want to cook an Italian dish, everything I need, is found at Pastosa. This is probably my favorite place to get some fresh and tasty raviolis! I enjoy getting the refrigerated uncooked ravs and then popping a few in a pot for 5minutes. Their sauce is phenomenal as well. The food they sell here is also very good and the staff are always friendly. If you are lucky, you may also get a free loaf of bread before closing. When a young male is too lazy to turn off a full blasting water source because he cares so little about wasting water and leaves it running for many minutes AND is dismissive of someone requesting he turn it off between cleanups, I can't stay or patronize an otherwise fantastic shop. Pastosa is food heaven and there truly is something for everyone. Sadly, not us. I am not interested in patronizing a place or interact with someone so disrespectful to a gentle suggestion and our natural sources. I am not necessarily a tree hugger but do have a keen sense of awareness about why not to waste water. Had there been a grown-up around, I would have sought them out. It was right before closing so not surprising a younger crew was finishing up. We will miss Pastosa but not as much since discovering Uncle Giuseppe's. read more

My husband came home with a couple of sandwhiches, rice balls, and cheesecake. The items all traveled extremely well, especially considering we live 30 minutes from the location. I was blown away by the fresh ingredients and how good the sandwiches were. They were also huge and did well in the fridge and we were able to enjoy them the next day. They also get pretty creative with their rice balls. We tried both the traditional and the pesto and both were good. We will definitely return next time we're in the area. read more

Pastosa is a gem. The people that work here are amazing and take real pride in their work. The Brooklyn bread is for real, especially the semolina. The man at the counter hooked me up with honestly one of the best eggplant parm sandwiches I've ever had - gooey, cheesy, saucy, with the crunch of the semolina bread. Took a container of pignoli cookies home to find they were not editable because too much extract in them and not made the proper way with almond paste. Was really a shame paying the same price per pound. I grew up in an old school Italian area where I know good pastry and food. Was very upset to eat the cookie and taste like that . Delicious!!! I was craving an nice sandwich and Pastosa's immediately came to mind. Walked right up to the counter and ordered. I got the #2. It had Prosciutto DiParma, Fresh Homemade Mozzarella, Sun-dried Peppers, Grilled Artichokes, Balsamic Glaze & EVOO on a seeded semolina. It was amazing. The Prosciutto melted in my mouth like it was hot butter. The entire sandwich was so fresh and tasty. It is a true Italian deli with meats, cheese, prepackaged foods, ravioli and desserts. The service is fast, friendly and quick. The guys behind the counter make the entire experience. They finesse everyone's order and look like they do it with love. When I walk through the door you can smell all the delicious food. I wish I could stay there all day and sample everything! read more

Some things are a hit, some are a miss. Mainly went to try their deli/subs. They have a billboard that has the menu on it - about 20 subs or so to choose from. I'm sure you can also just get whatever you would like on your sandwich. I got a half Italian tuna sub on a sesame seed bun and it was excellent! Great quality bread, tuna was not too wet/didn't have too much mayo, lettuce and tomato were fresh. Ate my whole sandwich. Was very impressed by this. I was also impressed with their fig pastry cookie. Imagine an Italian sour cream sprinkle cookie with fig paste in the middle. Excellent. I was not impressed (and will add- disappointed) by their fresh mozzarella balls. Italian delis should not have bad fresh mozz. Not that it was bad...but it was lacking flavor and it was kind of chewy/rubbery. I also got meatloaf that was very forgettable - mushy, lots of veggies in it, and just way too heavy. Strong ketchup taste. The other item that was simply fine was the candy turtle gummies. A little too sweet/artificial tasting to me. When you open the package you are hit with a sweet perfume smell. Overall, the sandwiches and the cookies will have me to return- but some items I will be skeptical about. read more

Ravioli and stuffed shells need thicker filling with more strained dense ricotta. The manicotti are a bit better because they're supposed to be looser filling. Their fennel sausage is often lacking enough fennel and is often too salty like many of their other prepared products. read more

Don't be fooled by the name. Sure they have wide selection of freshly made, refrigerated ravioli but they have so much more! Their prepared and hot food selection is endless. They carry meats, sausages (without fennel - alleluia) and cheeses with so many options to choose from. Their owner Scott (I think that's his name) was very personable and friendly and brought out so many samples for the family there was no need for us to have lunch (kidding, sort of). They also carry fresh bread, Italian specialty items, cold cuts (prosciutto is right from Italy), salami that come in hunks that they will slice for you...all delicious. Prices are great. This is a welcome addition to Florham Park. I am sure people from Florham Park and all the surrounding towns will make a beeline for this shop. Pastosa is an Italian specialty shop with a wide assortment of fresh cheeses, pastas, freshly made entrees and sauces. Breads, veggies, pizza, desserts and meats are available as well. One of quite a few in the chain, this is the only shop if it's kind in town. The place was staffed with the owner and a crew of friendly, helpful employees. They say distracted driving kills more people than drunk driving. Every foodie knows at least one occasion when that statistic was relevant. You're driving down some street and out of the corner of your eye you spot something. You don't know what it is, but your Spidey/Foodie Sense starts tingling. Maybe it's new sushi restaurant, or a new BBQ joint, or maybe even a new bánh mì place. So you turn to get a second look. If you don't, you might forget it's there and you might miss out on something great. You just need to know! Then you remember you're driving a car, you put your eyes back on the road, and you realize the disaster that you nearly caused... but it's ok because you were right, there was a new food place! (I realize that sounds horrible, but we all know it's true.) So what was the point of that long preamble you ask? That's how I discovered Pastosa Ravioli. It's not hidden by any means, but it's not in the front parking lot of the shopping plaza. It's in a sort of secondary rear shopping plaza. If you don't know it's there you might miss it... or notice it just as you drive past it. This place is fantastic in every regard. Everything looks delicious. They have a huge variety of frozen homemade pastas and premade meals and aisles of imported Italian products you just don't ever see in the suburbs... dried pastas and sauces of every sort, peppers, pestos, capers, vinegars, olive oils, anchovies (the good ones), and on and on. But none of that is why I love this place. It's their prepared foods. Be forewarned, if you go to Pastosa Ravioli you will spend more than you planned to. They have a whole wall that's a giant cooler with all sorts of pre-made meals, stuffed peppers, and more homemade prepared foods than I can list . This is separate from their frozen foods. But wait, it gets better! (yes, I know I'm starting to sound like a late night infomercial) When you get to the back of the store, your eyes will glaze over as you see and smell all the hot foods and all the other prepared foods they sell by the pound. Every type of stuffed rice ball and pepper you can imagine. More things than I can think of. My absolute favorite hot item is a creamy Fettuccini Alfredo type dish with chicken, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. I can't recall what it's called, but it's heaven in a takeout container. The menu changes every day, so you might have to visit a few times to find this offering, but I guarantee if it's not there you'll find something just as good. That being said, one day I mentioned how much I liked that particular dish to the counter man and he said if I called the store early the next day they would make it and include it in the day's hot food selections. Talk about great customer service! If you manage to escape the prepared foods section with any money left, you see all sorts of stuffed breads near the checkout. A few last comments. Everyone who works here is friendly, helpful, and clearly proud of their products and their store. Pastosa Ravioli is not cheap, but the prices are appropriate for the quality, and you'll be glad you spent the money. read more

He took the time to talk me through some of the products, the proteins, and even showed me some super fancy cheese that's apparently hard to find outside of Italy. The fact that there is a Pastosa in Florham Park makes this Brooklyn girl living in Morristown so happy. Mozzarella, smoked mozzarella, raviolis, sausage and bread are some of our favorites.
