Best tacos in Madera ca. Ice cold water soda and beer. They also make delicious burritos here.

$6.50 per burrito $1.50 per taco Still a deal. A very tasty deal, that is.

Had cravings for a burrito so I placed a phone order. Showed up and my order was ready, place was packed. Burrito was great and a good value for its quality and size. I definitely recommend.

4 tacos de asada sìn cebolla. Fantastic!

A longtime Madera staple, delicious tacos indeed. The menu is quite small; tacos, burritos and drinks. The hours used to be quite early. Overall, worthwhile of a quick bite for fast, friendly service.

Im going to keep this very short. Come for the cabeza tacos. Nothing else, hidden gem! -Cash only -Beer -Sauce out of this world

    Closed at 1pm on a Monday :/

Drove quite a ways on a Monday at 1pm and they were closed. Hours say open at 11am. No sign saying why they weren't open. Disappointed. Went next door and she didn't know why they were closed.

    Three carnitas tacos.

Stopped in for a burrito, but found out they only do tacos on the weekend. What? So I went for three carnitas tacos and a Tecate. Simple, but delicious tacos for $1.50 each. Burritos (when they have them) are $6.25. Meats are biztek, carnitas, and cabeza. They have a combo of 2 tacos, rice and beans for $5.50. Popular place.

    Madera's Hidden Gem :)

This review is way way over due! So as mentioned by other reviewers, this place is really a hidden gem in Madera. If you are coming down "D" street and blink you will miss it. However Madera natives know exact where to come for fantastic food. I was born and raised in Madera and the only place that my family would resort too for Mexican food. I have eaten at this place for more than 25 years and the food quality has not changed. Whenever I am in town, I definitely make time to come enjoy a ginormous delicious burrito. The family that runs this place is very nice and always greet with warm smile. The restaurant is small and way over due for makeover, but the quality/consistency of the food makes up for it. Between the hours of 11:30-2 it does get really packed in there; get there early to get a seat. Parking sometimes is a pain too. Every person that I have introduced to this restaurant gets hooked like a cracked head (lol). The food is that damn good! As you can see from the photos the $5.50 Burritos are literally bigger than the plates served on and filled with rice, beans, cheese, salsa, onion, cilantro and your specialty choice of meat: Carnitas, Asada, Cabeza. Same goes for the Especial combo plate. No outside drinks are allowed inside but there are plenty of canned sodas or beer to choose from. Credit/Debit cards are not allowed and as Mari mentioned no burritos on Sundays :( Also they are closed on Mondays. Highly recommend Taqueria Chavinda!

The tacos aren't bad. The service is ok. But I find it convenient to go in and have my food ready within minutes.

Very best taqueria anywhere. Their burritos are very large and my wife and I usually split them. My favorite are the Carnitas Burritos.

The Molcajete was the standout dish of the night. It arrived sizzling hot and loaded with perfectly cooked meats, seafood, fresh vegetables, and a rich, savory sauce that tied everything together. It was hearty, flavorful, and easily one of the best Molcajetes I've had. The mussels were another favorite. Honestly, everything tasted like it came straight out of someone's mother's kitchen--in the best way possible. The food had that homemade, comforting quality that's hard to find these days. The portions were generous, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had that cozy, family-owned feel that makes you want to come back again.

As soon as we looked over the menu, my mouth was already watering. We ordered the aguachiles verdes, the molcajete supreme, and I added a side of fries. When I say the food came out fast, I mean FAST, especially for food this fresh. The wait staff was attentive, friendly, and checked in just enough without being overbearing. The aguachile was honestly one of the best I've had. The green sauce was incredibly flavorful, perfectly balanced, and everything tasted fresh and vibrant. The molcajete supreme did not disappoint. The sauce was rich and delicious, and the portion of carne and shrimp was generous and very satisfying. You can tell care goes into the food here. And somehow, even the fries were amazing .... crispy, hot, and the perfect side. If you're passing through on your way to Yosemite, this place is absolutely worth the stop. We'll definitely be back.

I travel from Fresno to Sacramento many times throughout the year and I will be stopping here every single time. It's off the 99 freeway, the food is fresh and delicious, and the food is prepared quickly. OK, so my family and I have probably been here over a 30 times since we moved to Madera 5 years ago…read moreand we can honestly say that the food and service has finally disappointed us. Our reviews have always been 5 stars and we've always raved about this place so trust me when I say that our last visit we be the LAST. Our visit consisted of being ignored at the drive-through window as my husband was ordering our food. The lady with a beauty mark/mole on her cheek, was taking our order and walked away from us two or three times while my husband was ordering. This was the moment my husband knew we would not be back. Of course I am a devils advocate and I said well maybe they're really busy (or I don't know if anything really justifies leaving your customer mid sentence). It took us longer than usual to get our food. My husband's burrito was extremely poor made. I had mostly rice and not much of anything else. My sope was good so can't complain there, but the tacos were not it. The tortas aren't the same either. The taste is not the same as we loved and the service is horrible. I don't know if we will ever be back. We can get over hit or miss food (sometimes) but I can't get over her walking away while my husband was ordering. She did not say a single word to us and just walked away. If you don't care enough to respect your paying customers, then you do not deserve our service. No sé si volveremos. *notice the grilled onions in the taco picture, like Are you kidding me? And where are the taco toppings. My hubbys burrito with one piece of visible meat. This was the super BTW.
