    Banana matcha & Pandan coffee
    Mia C.

I saw social media posts about this place and decided my boyfriend and I needed to go ASAP. I love matcha and love a place that offers a bunch of fun flavors! We got there and it was VERY busy but it also was still considered their soft opening I think. The space is quite small but it was clean and well decorated. The had a little stands with different asian snacks which I thought was fun. The menu is pretty big but, I decided to get the banana matcha & my boyfriend got a pandan Viet coffee that came with a little waffle. The wait was a little longer because it was so busy but not horrific. We finally got our drinks and my boyfriend ate his waffle which he said was good but, just a waffle. As for the drinks, my boyfriend enjoyed his coffee and said it was good! The matcha was really good but it was more so a dessert than a matcha. I drank it incredibly and strangely fast and realized how much ice and toppings were in the cup. I think they definitely could do with a little less so you get more of the actual drink because for the kind of expensive price, that was simply not enough of the actual drink. It was also extremely sweet which was pretty expected, but the matcha itself was lost completely flavor wise. I want to come here and try the desserts instead of the matches!

I was coming here before the swap over when it was Bambu and I'm happy to say that I really enjoy the soft opening. I came during the lunch hours so it wasn't overrun with people. The staff and owners are still the same people who are sweet and kind. Of course parking in the Eat Street area is always challenging. I got the Coco Island because it was similar to something I liked on the old menu, they gave me more grass jelly and I loved that! The Mango Sticky Rice though! 10/10! I would definitely come back for it again! For some reason I didn't think it through and tried to drink it with a straw and forgot that the sticky rice will get stuck, so recommended to use a spoon. Overall, I think the change is good and I'm excited to try the new drinks on the menu!

This is one of the few places that offer Vietnamese dessert drinks in MN and when they were Bambu I love coming here for their pandan waffles and desserts. Now that they have changed name and is no longer under Bambu, it seems their stuff opening week is going slow since waiting time is over 30 minutes to order and get your order total. I like that they have now added the self order station. Most of the menu items are the same with different names. It seems their most popular dessert drink order when we were there was Mango Sticky rice. Will have to come back to give it a try. They set up in the dining area is a little more crowded than before so more space to sit with comfy chairs but not a lot of moving room throughout the space. My Coco Island dessert drink was great. They didn't have strawberries as part of their toppings for the waffles but my daughter still enjoyed her waffle with vanilla ice cream. The pandan is less sweet this time. Prices are a little higher but it's

Gigi's has recently changed hands, and the new iteration is well worth a visit. Located in a…read moresomewhat drafty building, this no-frills homey café offers great pastries, coffees and teas, as well as breakfast, bowls, sandwiches, soups and salads, and entreés. Our group of seven enjoyed cream cheese ravioli, the chicken cob salad, and a salt-free burger on a great bun, with homemade kettle chips. There is no table service. Order at the counter, and the staff will bring the food to your table. When done, you can leave the dishes on the table, but bussing your dishes is appreciated. Gigi's is a great place to meet friends, hang out, and enjoy good food in a relaxed neighborhood home away from home.

The outside patio and entrance area was also cute. I think it'll even be cuter in the spring and summer as the snow covered a lot of the patio area. The inside has a classic coffee cafe feel to it. Bigger than I expected inside. The menu prices weren't bad. Food was actually kinda cheap in my opinion. I ordered the the classic breakfast which came with eggs, red potatoes or greens, and toast with jelly. The food was pretty good. Nice balance of flavor. Id get again. I also ordered the nutty professor latte which had good whip cream but I felt it was overbearing with the nuts on top I couldn't really get to the whip...I guess that's why it's called the nutty professor though. The drink tasted like a sugar cookie. I was a bit confused why a hot coffee drink would be put in a glass. Staff was kind and helpful. Nice coffee selections and bakery looked decent. Not a bad spot overall.

I was…read moreaware of Patisserie 46 down the street, but I wanted something more for breakfast, and Easy Day fulfilled that and more! I went with the egg-cheese-ham breakfast sandwich on an asiago cheese bagel. Delightful, especially compared to other breakfast bagels around town. The slice of chocolate-banana bread caught my eye also. I ordered a 2-shot medium latte (they pull double-shots) that came in a mug atop a dainty china saucer with lovely foam artwork. Ten tables and a handful of padded chairs are spaced throughout the shop, with only 5 of them occupied at 9 am on a Wednesday. I think there will be outdoor streetside tables once the snow melts. Electrical outlets are a bit sparse, but they do exist along the main wall. What really made my experience special was the service -- something I rarely see at coffee shops. First off, I ordered vanilla flavoring for my latte, but after the cashier poured it (and before I paid), I noticed that they had a salted maple latte as a limited time special. She graciously poured out the vanilla syrup and started my special latte. On completion, the barista called out, "Vanilla turned into Salted Maple Latte!", which I found amusing. Finally, the third attendant walked my breakfast bagel to my table as I was washing my hands. Just little acts of kindness and service which I much appreciated. Note that all prices include tax and tip, so prices appear high on the menu board, but in the end were equivalent to what I've been paying the first two days of shuttling in south Minneapolis. Easy Day Cafe is the best place I've visited for coffee or breakfast in a while. Enjoy!
