Nothing was broken, damaged, or missing. The move into my new space was just as smooth as the move out of my old one. They carefully followed all of the building's rules for elevator use, placed furniture exactly where I requested, and neatly stacked boxes in the appropriate rooms. What impressed me most was their professionalism and attention to detail. They communicated clearly throughout the process, regularly checked to make sure I didn't have any questions, and truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was done right. Before leaving, they removed all of the packing materials they had used and left both my old and new homes clean and tidy. The entire move stayed on schedule and was remarkably efficient. I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. One thing that really stood out to me was that instead of asking me how many boxes I need, they asked me to send them pics of my place and stuff, and they calculated the number of small, medium and large boxes I need. It's so easy to underestimate and get a different price at the end. Also, I know I wanted packers because its speeds up the entire process of moving and settling in. I'm so glad I did with Roadway. It usually takes me over half a week to pack and be stressed for over a week, but Diego and his 3 teammates packed up our studio in 2-3 hours. They're so professional. They moved so quickly with care and accuracy. Most importantly, all my kitchen appliances were wrapped with care and delivered and arrived to my new apartment in the same condition. It took us about 2 hrs to settle in, and they once again unpacked most of the furnitures and reassembled them, making me feel settled in and relaxed. I cannot thank their team enough. They're all so polite, friendly and efficient. Within 1 day, I already feel 95% settled in. It's the easiest, stress-free moving experience I had in a while!

My purse was in my closet where they were not supposed to be anywhere near and there was three guys and it was hard to follow them around all day. This should not happen!

I price-compared a ton of NYC moving companies and J & G gave me a competitive moving quote. Additionally, the building I was moving into required a certificate of insurance (COI) and J & G was able to offer it for me for free. A lot of other companies charge for this. Before moving, I communicated with them via email and they always responded promptly and were very clear about what their moving package included. The day of the move, they called and asked if it was okay if they came an hour early. They were very communicative with me during the whole move. The lead guy (forgot his name!) assessed how many things I had and then discussed with the other 2 men on how to efficiently approach the move. The 3 men were over 6' tall and strong, and they were able to finish my whole move in a little more than 1 hr! I did not have anything that was easily breakable but the men treated my things with care. They provided blanket and shrink wrapping for all of my furniture. Everything was loaded up into their truck very quickly. These guys wasted no time. When I arrived at my new apartment building, they had already started unloading my things. I had my boxes labeled with what was inside (i.e., kitchen supplies, shoes, jackets) and they actually placed each box in the corresponding room. Best of all, there were no hidden fees. They ended up not charging me a processing fee that was included in the quote and gave me $40 off my quoted price. The movers were so friendly, communicative and professional, I will definitely be using J & G Moving again! I also wanted to note that on the day of my move, the street I was moving from was blocked due to construction. J & G movers did not complain or make any mention of that until I had stepped outside of my apartment building and noticed it. These guys provide excellent customer service and I was very impressed by them.
