I've been going to Cheba Hut for over a decade, it's been one of my favorite spots in town. This location opened up recently but both times I've been in, the experience was not good. Especially compared to other locations. Every beer I order has no head, completely flat and flavorless. The service is absolute bare minimum. As soon as I hit no tip when paying the dude walked away without offering a receipt or saying thank you. Nothing. The 2 sandwiches I ordered took 40 minutes... I know it's slower than other sandwich places but come on. Both times now has taken way too long to get my food. No apologies for the wait. Food is great. Staff is friendly. But. I've ordered in person and online - the wait for a sandwich is kind of crazy. In person 30 minutes at least and even ordering ahead of time was 45 minutes with still waiting 15 minutes when I got there. I hope they can work on efficiency to make this spot more desirable. Cheba Hut has always been a local favorite to many, so when the news of a new location came up, there was a lot of excitement! They definitely had expectations, and have been consistently meeting them. They have great customer service, as all of the employees I've interacted with have all been very kind. The second time I visited, there was a longer line and the manager went and passed around samples of their crispy rice treats and thanked everyone for waiting. Talk about a good impression! The sandwiches are always top tier, and I've never been disappointed. You can tell the employees that make them enjoy their craft! This Cheba Hut is a bit more modern, but I think it is perfect for the Gilbert location. The bar has a nice seating area if you want a drink. I usually get the G-13 and it never misses!! I was very excited to see this new business open up just down the street from my house. I believe they may have just opened a few days ago...but you couldn't tell! Everyone was very efficient and my food tasted GREAT! The ambiance is great. I love the whole bar, toasted sub concept....I think you will too. As for the food, I got the 12" La Canna on Garlic Herb and a Krispy Bar. The sandwich was filled with toppings and was wonderful. Very disappointed with my experience at this location. It took 20 min for me to get through the line and took almost an hour to receive my two sandwiches after I ordered. I ordered at 2:34PM and received my two sandwiches at 3:27PM. I watched multiple customers leave after the staff told them it would be at least a 40 min wait. I also watched multiple customers go back to the counter to receive refunds due to it taking too long. These are sandwiches and should never take this long. I hope Cheba Hut will make up for their slow service. read more

This was our first visiting the Higley Gilbert store. We placed our takeout order and waited. We noticed several individuals waiting for takeout standing near us. After 35 mins we started noticing eat-in orders being served really quickly ahead of us. Then more were getting served. @ the 45 min mark I asked one of the workers what was going on. She informed us that the seated customers are served first ahead of us takeout. So now there are many of us standing and waiting. Then they couldn't find our order. We waiting for more than an hour before we finally received our take-out bag. No concessions were offered. Takeout orders you have to wait 45 mins or more. No real management was available for a Sat @ 5:30p @ dinner time. read more
