A friend of ours brought us here for a late breakfast. We just fell in love with Antique Row Cafe!! This is one of those down home kind of restaurant! It is decorated with all kinds of antiques! You'll see photos, clocks, signs, collectibles, and much more! So, all four orders were the Chicken Fried Chicken!! While all FOMOers were lining up for carbs at the grand opening of Marigold Bagels today, I avoided the crowd like any sane person would and came here instead. Antique Row Cafe was on my list to visit but never had the chance to until recently. The cafe has outdoor seating which was a plus. Parking is a challenge in this area, only limited street parking if you're lucky. Once inside, I was greeted and seated quickly. The menu offered mostly breakfast and also lunch options, I went with the later and ordered what I was craving a Reuben sandwich and onion rings. The menu described it as home made, deli sliced and toasted marbled rye. I missed my usual Jewish delis in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, the delis and cafes in SD don't come close :( The Reuben arrived quickly and plated as usual with the onion rings and a pickle spear. I sat in a booth by a wall of framed pics of celebrities, mostly gangsters all looking at my Reuben. After much anticipation, a bite and another, I was disappointed in the lack of taste and lack of meat. The sandwich might as well be called a grilled cheese sandwich, because it was 95% mostly cheese...so disappointed. The onion rings and pickle spear were the only saving grace to quell me appetite but I didn't want to eat the rest of the sandwich and had is boxed togo, to maybe donate to local homeless. The waitress was nice but her constantly calling me 'Babe' was annoying, I will give her the benefit of doubt that she was not being offensive even though it was. The waitress needs training on how to address customers and not sound offensive. The restaurant inside decor had no style, mostly things you would see from garage sale rejects. Lots of frames pics of vintage celebrities and lots of knick knack junk... TBH, I didn't feel comfortable surrounded by all of it, as I expected antiques not junk, because that's what the name of the place was called, 'Antique Row' cafe. The food was prepared very well what was hot was supposed to be hot, but it was cold was cold. In other words. They paid attention to detail. My one suggestion is one a person has a salad fries and a burger. Serve the salad first so the person can enjoy the fresh greens. Other than that the service was very competent and polite. Been coming to Antique Row Cafe for two years now and it never disappoints. Service is fast, food is good, and the staff is friendly. Our favorite is the egg breakfast entree where you get a choice of eggs your way, a protein (we often get ham/sausage/hot links), hash browns or potatoes (we get hash browns) or a side of fruit, and toast/other bread options I can't remember because we always get pancakes. Soooo DISAPPOINTED. This has been our local GoTo place that we have enjoyed for years. We recently went with friends for breakfast, sat outside because we had a dog with us. 10 minutes after our food was delivered the waitress slapped the check on the table, saying, "No rush." We ate and paid. Many reviews say the owners feel like friends. Our experience was the opposite. The OWNER came to our table and asked us to leave. Mind you we were getting ready to leave and had only been at our table for 45 minutes. Turns out the owner wanted our table for a dog. There are many, many options for breakfast - Antique Row has succumbed to the weaknesses of many chain restaurants, bad coffee with imitation creamer, medicore food, and turning over tables as fast as they can. Antique Row, or as I see the new signs say "The Row" is good. Not bad, not great, but good. They serve breakfast and lunch and close at 2pm. Mostly everything me and my friends have tried have been breakfast items. Which over all taste good, but don't blow you out of the water. I cannot say I recommend a certain dish as I always for the most part get something different. There is nothing I would say do not get. Staff is usually on top of everything. There is adequate amount of seating. Parking may be hard to find near by, but you can definitely find some within a block or two. read more

None of my regular breakfast spots for Chicken fried Steak or Biscuits & Gravy even begin to compare to Antique Row. Why did it take me 7 years to try is what I can't figure out. Their food is seriously light years away from what used to be favorites for breakfast, i.e. the Waffle Spot, Kamala's and Brothers, Maple, and Black Bear to name a few, this place leaves them all wanting and truly pale by comparison. I was very disappointed with my experience here. I ordered the two-egg dish, which came with two carb sides, and I added a side of bacon (four slices) for an extra cost. I requested lightly scrambled eggs, but they were overcooked and hard. While the bacon was tasty, the fatty ends made it less crispy than I'd hoped. The grits were overly watery, and as someone from Louisiana who knows this dish well, I was especially let down--there was even a pool of butter floating on top. The English muffin was tough and hard to eat. On top of that, the price felt steep, with my meal costing $17. That said, the interior is charming with a classic diner vibe, and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. She quickly took my drink order as soon as I sat down, and the coffee was excellent. I like this breakfast spot. The decor is cute and quirky in here, and the vintage aesthetic lends to the ambiance. The restaurant is pretty dimly lit. As for the food, the portions are big and it tastes pretty good. I love how the hash browns are cooked. The poached eggs on my eggs benedict were cooked perfectly. I got the Cali Benedict that came with bacon, spinach, avocado, and tomatoes. The ingredients tasted pretty fresh with the exception of the English muffin, which had an oily texture. The hollandaise sauce didn't really stand out too much, though. The ultimate cinnamon roll was huge! The glaze wasn't 100% to my liking (a bit on the sour side) but the roll itself was pretty good. It can definitely be shared between 2-3 people. My husband said the corned beef hash was pretty good. Service was really friendly! I would return. HOWEVER the bill at the end was such a shock. $60 for breakfast for 2 people after tip. read more

Located on a corner with plenty of surrounding street parking (metered), but if you get there later than 9am, it's a fight. Inside, it has a vintage aesthetic, with various decor littering the walls. Plenty of seating. You can also sit outside where they have 3 tables. I loved that they had a doggie area for passing pups to get a quick drink or treat. Staff was friendly and attentive. We were automatically served waters, even our dog companion got an ice cold bowl. If you have a sweet tooth, get the cinnamon roll. It's large so you can definitely share amongst 2 to 3 people. I ordered the eggs benedict and enjoyed the hollandaise sauce. My potatoes were nice and crisp. I do feel like it could have used more salt but some hot sauce made the meal better. Update on the response. Our family has been in multiple times over the past four years. You are correct that I did not ask to have my hamburger removed from our bill. I am sure the waitress could observe it was barely touched. I reviewed multiple yelp reviews and saw some similar feedback. ################ It's changed. We went here for years and years and loved it. We went Jan 2026 and it was okay. One person had blt on croissant and did not like it. A second person had cheese burger and fries with a side of blue cheese. They barely touched the cheese burger . The onions and tomato on it did not taste right. The blue cheese dressing tasted rancid. They did take the blt off the bill. The person with the cheeseburger did not complain but you would think the waitress might have noticed they barely touched the food. Not sure why the food quality went down. read more

My mouth is dry just looking at it The table next to me too did not seem to enjoy their meal as much too. Maybe we came on a bad day or ordered the wrong foods, but I was mainly disappointed on the pancakes.
