It's nice to go to Cheba hut once every couple years or so haha. This experience was refreshingly surprising. Everytime I order anything from a Cheba hut, something is always wrong, they mess up somehow, forget to add on something, or take something off whatever. This time it was pretty alright. I haven't been in since they made it an option to turn your sandwich into a salad so that was pretty exciting. On their menu it says the Apollo 13 (Greek chicken) has kalamata olives on it and I'm not sure if they have more than one olive option or if black olives are all they carry, but they DEFINITELY were NOT kalamata olives and that was the only thing I was pretty disappointed about, especially being on a Greek sandwich/ salad option. The salad was so filling, they gave me the meat and dressing on the side for me to pour on myself, all of the flavors went so great together. I was thoroughly impressed, enough to where I let the olive thing go haha. I posted a picture of the sad pickle they gave us because it was laughable. My friend got the French dip sandwich and it was quite tasty! I love their tea and kool aid options. Sadly I don't have any photos of this place because every time we couldn't wait to dig into the food. We have tried several sandwiches and they were all very delicious. We like the creative menu a lot as well, especially when you cannot decide what to eat and you can almost always find something that fits your mood here. Although I have never been inside of the store, it seemed to be lively and chill according to my partner. One time, our takeout food was delayed just by a little bit, and because of this, we were given free drinks and free desserts as compensation. What a pleasant customer service! Cheba Hut is always a good move when you want a loaded sub. They have all different types for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The menu is vast enough to enjoy a different sub every time you go. On this particular visit I got the Kali Mist. This is my first time getting a Nug size (4 inch) so I wasn't sure how filling it would be. I'd say this size is perfect for those who aren't too hungry. However, I'm sure if you get it as a combo it would still be a full meal. The Kali Mist has a nice kick to it because of the jalapeños. There's still a good amount of other toppings to ensure there's not too much heat to it. I love that Cheba Hut wraps their sandwiches in aluminum foil to ensure your sub is still nice and hot when you get home to eat it. Cheba Hut is the epitome of stoner culture, but you don't have to be stoned to enjoy the food. The menu and sandwich names are clever puns for MJ and the entire restaurant is decorated heavily with pictures, art, and pop culture references. I usually go with either the Panama Red or Jamaican Red sandwiches when I go here. The sandwich ingredients are super fresh and the medium size ("Pinner") is pretty filling. Also...they have fresh baked munchies like brownies and chocolate chip cookies that are legitimately delicious. You would think as a franchise they would just buy these prepackaged but from what I can tell they actually bake them fresh. I have loved Cheba Hut for years... But for some strange reason, my past few times ordering via Doordash has me disappointed. I can't have dairy at all. I get horribly sick when eat it. So picking no dairy and no cheese and no Cheba shake means to not put dairy on my sandwich. But my last 3 sandwich orders have all had some kind of dairy on it. Even though my orders state no dairy on them. I don't like that I have to now resort to driving there to make sure my sandwich is being made correctly. But apparently this location doesn't think they need to make sandwiches the way people order them. The love I have for Chana Hut is quite literally unmatched. I discovered this gem when I was visiting family in NM a few years ago and now I look for it everywhere I go. NM, CO, AZ, and even in my home state of TX. You can't beat their subs. I'm a sandwich lover and let me tell you nothing quite measures up. The OG Cheeba truly delivers. having tried Cheeba in Tucson, Chandler, and Awatukhee I feel like this one genuinely tastes the best, and is always consistent. LOVE that they have KOOL-AID!!!! Of course they have other fountain drinks but c'mon, its KOOLAID!!! Their sandwiches are always on point, high or not, you can NEVER go wrong. I got the KGB, with no horseradish or 'shrooms and it was beyond perfect. This is an every Wednesday kinda lunch place for the fellas at my job. I've never been and finally decided to hang out with the fellas for lunch and give Cheba Hut a try. I'm so glad I did! Between the four of us, here's what we chose: 2 Kali Mist (Nug Size - 4 inches for me) and a side Greek Salad AK - 47 Kush The Kali Mist and the Kush stood out to us the most. The Kali Mist is a roasted turkey breast sub with bacon, chipotle mayo, fresh jalapenos, pepper jack, avocado and lettuce and tomato The Kush was a BLT with extra tomatoes, house dressing and provolone cheese.
